    Manitoba anyone?

Hi everyone! Nice to see some fellow Maples Clinic banders on here. I am almost three months post surgery .... have had 2 fills....approx 3cc...but still not feeling any restriction. I'm trying to stay positive cause I know everyone is different when it comes to how much fill they need.

    FEB 3rd!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

where has the time gone??? It seems like surgery was just yesterday and yet I go for my first fill next week at the six week mark. Overall I'm doing well , haven't been on a scale since before surgery...doc said not to expect to lose weight during this time...just let your body settle into having the band and healing from the surgery. Started on 'solids' this week and trying to keep track of the 'magic' number of grams of protein I should be having each day. How are the rest of you doing?

    sask location needs info

Doddie is right the Maples clinic in Winnipeg does lapband surgery. I don't know if there are fill docs/nurses in Sask. If you call the Maples Clinic @204-633-1108 and ask for Jen, she is the coordinator for lapband surgeries, she may be able to give you more information. I know they do out of province patients so I am sure she would have some of the info you need. I am originally from Sask. as well....GO ROUGHRIDERS!
  5. Hi Bethy, I just had lapband surgery at the Maples clinic. I didn't go the finance route so I don't know what the terms are. I would suggest that you call and ask to speak to Jen she is the coordinator for the lapband surgeries. I'm sure she would be able to point you in the right direction to see what you would need to get qualified. I don't get my first fill till Mar. 17th but so far I'm feeling very positive about having had the surgery. Good luck with whatever you decide!:sneaky:

hello fellow banders, I too am just feeling mostly uncomfortable rather than in pain. Will be on fluids for the next couple of days then can graduate to cream soups etc. Very happy that the surgery part is done....the first big step and now lots and lots of baby steps to get to my goal!!!

I didn't think I was going to survive on this optifast stuff, but as time goes on I've found I don't mind it at all. I can't say I've even felt hunger this past two weeks, however, my family ordered Pizza tonight and yipes that was VERY hard to say no to!!!!!

    FEB 3rd!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

hi, I'm having lapband surgery on Feb. 3rd as well. I am on that two week optifast diet . Its not THAT bad but I sure wouldn't want to have to be on it any longer than the two weeks. I get to add two cups veggies and clear fluids such as tea or coffee. What kinds of things are you eating for this two weeks?
  13. Thanks jorja  One week down, one week to go on this optifast!:w00t:

    Considering banding in Manitoba

hi everyone, I'm five days in to the optifast diet and doing well so far. I had to play around a little to get it to a consistency that was palatable for me. Its not THAT bad tasting, but I don't think I would want to be on it for a year like Oprah. I FINALLY got my ticker working.

    Considering banding in Manitoba

Hi everyone, I'm starting my opti-fast diet tomorrow, surgery is Feb.3rd. At the Maples they give out all chocolate now since the response to the vanilla was very poor. I was glad to find out that I'm allowed to eat veggies (2cups a day) as well so that its not just liquid. Still looking for instructions on how to post a ticker with msgs.....any help would be appreciated. Thanks, M.
