Would you be an online mentor, because I don't live in NYC? -
Does caffeine affect you differently after banding?
jjc replied to LindaD's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It does effect me more now, but I use to drink so much Dt. Coke and now I don't, so my body is not as use to it as it use to be. -
Can anyone else "feel" the lap band inside them?

So when you feel pressure on your port that is a normal thing? -
I had my surgery in Dec and the doc told me my scars are healing fine. But I am wondering how much do they heal? Are they really noticable?

I don't cook. I have been eating frozen dinners, but I think they have too many carbs. Anybody have any ideas for me. I don't cook for several reasons. One I am really bad at it. I don't have a lot of time. And my roommate cuts hair at our house and it seems like the hair gets everywhere and it freaks me out that it might be in the food.

I had a BMI of 32 pre-op. I had tried every diet with little success and I too have a lot of weight related diseases in my family. My insurance did not cover it, but I financed, and still think it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The first place I tried said I did not qualify, but the second place did.

What was your BMI on the day of surgery?

32 and now I am at 28. -
I have lost 25 lbs since Dec 22. Diet pills never worked for me, and phentermine (probably spelled wrong) made me the mean mean crying cussing queen. I have not once regretted my surgery, even when I make my payment every month, since my insurance would not cover it. I have to make choice on what I eat, but it is much easier for me to make good choices. Not that I haven’t had chocolate cake, but a little bit satisfies me instead of the whole cake. And I can actually turn down sweets now, something I would have never believed. One thing I have noticed is when I am stress, it is really hard for me to eat, and I use to be a total stress eater. Maybe the first time that I fell into old habits and I puked on myself made that change.

My insurance did not cover it either, but I was financed and I think it is the best thing I have ever done for myself.

A soft taco made me puke, but I think I was eating to fast and falling into old habits of eating fast and a lot when I was stressed. Because I have eaten one from the same place before and after, I think it was a chewing thing. Carrots and grapes hurt me. A very small amount of chocolate satisfies me now. Glad to know about tuna, was going to bring some to keep at work. I don’t know what slimming and PB are would some one please enlighten me.

I am glad you think of them as a badge of honor. I a don't want anybody to ask me about them, but I am just that way. I don't know about wearing a bikini, but the thought that I maybe someday can is encouraging.

So I started reading the implant thread and got overwhelmed that it was so long. I have two questions. Most women's breast are to some degree different sizes, with weight loss does this get more pronounced? Also the supplements that are suppose to add cup sizes and firmness, do they work? Do they also add fat to your arse?

I was so nervous, I had never had surgery before. The hardest part for me was I got a horrible migrane 5 days after my surgery. I was sore but it felt like I had worked out too hard not like someone had cut me. Ever so often for about the first 3 weeks I would feel a pinch, but nothing bad, and I am a huge whimp! It was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

I don't want to tell anybody either, but I do feel bad for a few people that ask me how I have lost the weight and I tell them eating less and walking. I feel bad because they are struggling and I remember how frustrated I would be when I was trying so hard and not dropping and somebody was really dropping. I am considering tell one cousin and a co-worker, but I don't want them to tell anybody, so I have just kept it to myself.

I have had one fill and my doctor did numb me, and it did not hurt one bit. I wasn't even sore afterward. I was more nervous for the fill than the surgery. Good luck.
-
I had my surgery on Dec 22 and this afternoon I had the worst migrane of my life? Is this a common thing for people with migranes after the surgery or maybe unrelated? I did not vomit after the surgery, but had the dry heaves tonight, could I have messed up the band? Sorry this is a gross question.

I had my surgery yesterday and was wondering when the soreness in my stomach would go away. I know it will vary from people to people, but I was wondering some of your experiences. I am sorry if it was rude to post on this comment. -
Hi I am new and getting banded next week. I am really excited, but starting to get nervous. Acutally more nervous about the band adjustments than the surgery.

I go in next week, and am going through www.trueresults.com My BMI is 31-32. My insurance won't cover it, but I could wait a few more years so I have the health problems to go with it. They will do it for prevention, but you do have to be classified as obese. I don't know what your BMI is, so I don't know if you would be qualified.
