I don't want this to become a religous debate but I am looking for some questions
Jaffa replied to babygrl1234's topic in Rants & Raves
But do worms go to heaven? LOL....just kidding, but it does make the question of belief a fairly simple one, that many "believers" fail. I ask anyone who makes a point out of stating their beliefs in god this question. Do you know that only one person has ever answered it in a way that truly showed that they believed and why. Frankly, most people are just phony, and it isn't their fault. They are so busy with the ritualistic part of religion versus idealogical part that they get confused. -
Well, someone else on here recently said a lot of the same things, but claimed it was her body was rejecting or allergic to the band, not an infection. Of course her surgeon let her believe that, probably thinking she was less likely to sue them. At least someone was honest with you. I think your original surgeon knew what was wrong, or is imcompetant, either one of which he doesn't really want to admit to most likely.

In case your wondering, I believe worms go to heaven just as often as humans do. Not really an answer to what I believe, but that is what religion is, answers that aren't really answers, just more questions. -

If your pastor so much as hesitates to answer this question correctly, you need to find a new pastor. -

Do you believe worms go to heaven? Most will answer no. Many will answer I don't know while thinking about it, and some will even answer yes. It amazes me, how many so called "believers" can't quickly and easily answer this question. The correct answer is....if you believe that human animals have a majic thing called a "soul" while other animals do not, then only humans go to heaven. If you didn't know the answer without thinking about it, then I would say, you are really just pretending to believe, or wanting to believe without any real evidence that should cause you to believe. Hey, that is fine for religion, but frankly ridiculous and laughable to most other situations. The human brain is the most advanced brain of all animals. It differs from all other brains of the animal kingdom in this regard. Does this difference give us a unique ability to fear death and in an attempt to deal with this fear we have created an abstraction such as the theory of the "soul" Isn't this just a more advanced fear response from a more advanced brain? That should get you started very well. You will be amazed how many "believers" have trouble with this question. In the end, it takes someone believing in a "soul" concept to believe in any advanced from of warship. The must believe in a concept that is a total abstraction with no proof whatsoever, in order to be able to do this. Proof of the soul. Nothing written can be shown as proof, since everything written is merely an abstraction. The bible and the stories in it, are many times sited, but only by people who don't understand that the bible proves nothing, if you know how it was actually formed. The only proof is that individuals are able to believe in something such as the "Soul" without any real proof at all. Here is a fun experiment. Tell everyone that once upon a time there were people who had skin that was striped like a zebra. They will want proof, before they will "believe you". Show them a collection of writing from thousands of years ago, assembled into a book. Tell them that these writings are the proof. They will laugh at you. How is the bible really any different. Frankly, it isn't, other then it has been passed down longer and therefore is more accepted. -
Well, this the longest I have gone without any weight loss. In fact I'm up a pound. I am trying to up my calories a bit for awhile and then bring them back down, just to fool my body. This is so frustrating....I was losing 2 or more lbs a week for a long time, and now in the last 10 days, I have gained 1lb. I'm tighter then the past, so, I'm going to use a little hot water to help in the morning. I am thinking about just changing my food routines as much as possible to get things going. I'm going to pretend like the 1lb gain is muscle this week. There now I feel much better.

We sometimes do the same thing here. I have seen people mention the gastric sleeve, and then someone responds about how they don't want their plumbing changed, how they want something less invasive, and on and on.....it is all relative and just ignorance. But we are all ignorant until we learn differently.

I (we) are self pay. I was self pay on the band, and I'm paying for my wife's sleeve. Our Insurance covers nothing. I don't worry about the band aftercare cost, because I can afford it. But, I do worry about the cost of losing it, if and when that happens. My wife is lucky, she won't need any aftercare, and she has lost enough weight on her own, that she is now a low bmi sleeve person, so she won't really need anything else. I think the upper GI is recommended, but she can get that covered easily enough, just by getting our regular doctor to submit the request.

Well, a little more then a week and I'm at the same weight. It isn't as fun as when your losing 2lbs a week. I know, why. I haven't been doing my regular workout routine because I have been working more, and it is that time of the year when I have to do extra work in the yard. Yard work should in theory help, but it doesn't seem to do as much as they say it does???? Well, I have to go finish planting the day lillies in the front yard.

I like dropping in a scoop of isopure unflavored protein to my yogurt. It adds 105 calories, but it is also 25gr of protein.

Atkins Peanut Butter bar. Yummy. Also, I take viactive chewable viatamins. They are about 40 calories a day. If you add in the Calcium viactive, that is 80 calories a day. It would be good for you and probably help you....

I agree 40/30/30 would be pretty ideal, but I also agree that I can very rarely do it. I am not saying this is the best diet, but what I do is just watch my Protein to carb ratio. I try to keep it in balance. Thats just what has worked for me. Ignoring the fat isn't necessarily the best, but I have found it usually stays pretty balance naturally. I think most of the doctors would like you at 90gr of protein a day. But, frankly, it depends on your workout level and your calorie count. I have noticed that at the very best, you almost always end up eating 10 calories to get 1gr of protein. 90grams is usually going to put you at 900 calories already.

I scoop it up and weigh it, then subtract that amount. JUST KIDDING!!! I just don't count it, and just so you know, I haven't been able to eat dark meat chicken from before I had fills. You wouldn't think it would make that much difference, but it does for me. This band is a fickle little shit that only allows me to eat certain things. I'm getting down to a certain staple set of "safe foods", and I'm ok with that for now.

I guess I have never thought of it as being dark and clear? Man it sounds like we are evaluating beer. I think that should be a different thread. Thanks for the clarification on dark, light, versus, clear or not. I have never had an infection, so it wouldn't even occur to me that light but not clear was possible.

Yea, she would like you. But, she has a very negative view of forums. Once upon a time, I was very active in a specialty car forum. It ended up costing us some pretty serious agony, so she is naturally not too positive about forums.

I love dark chocolate with peanut butter. I eat way more chocolate then I should. I eat Russell Stovers "sugar free" so that I don't feel so bad afterwards, but who are we kidding, it is still bad calories.

That is incredible!!!! -
No change at all? If you haven't felt any change at all, maybe you have a leak. Have they ever drawn out the Fluid to see how much is really in there? You can have a fill done differently to check for leaks.

Currently my BMR (Basal Metabolism Rate) is 1915 calories a day at 202lbs and 5'9" and an age of 42. By the time I get to 160, I will be 43 and need to stay at 1400 calories, just to maintain my weight. Well assuming no physical activity. This is just a complete revelation to me. My god, I could never get down to 160, and would have no chance of maintaining it without weight loss surgery. I can't even think about people who lose their band, thinking they can go back to doing it on their own and stay in the normal BMI range. Man, if I ever lose my band, I'm going for a revision at the same time, same surgery.

Corporate Pilot. I usually fly somewhere for about 45 minutes, then sit around for 12 hours and fly home 45 minutes.

Wouldn't it make things for a woman 1 inch shorter? It seems to make sense that it would work just the opposite for women....maybe not the best thing?
-
Damn, I'm only 1.5 inches then.
