  1. I was banded on the 3/26 and things went well. Dealt with the gas pain for the first week or so after surgery but I realized yesterday that it has been several days since I'd had any. I'm down about 33 pounds total. So far I've been satisfied with about a cup of food at a time. I'm not starving yet but I know that it may still come before I get my first fill on 4/28. I graduated to mushy food so I'm getting to eat things that are a little more substantial. I write down everything I eat to help me keep track. Honestly, after surgery I realized I didn't really know what 1 serving of food looked like. So now I measure and am slowly learning. It sounds like we're all in similar situations. I, too, am looking forward to my first fill. Although right now I can still take pretty big sips of things without a problem. I need to be working on that so I'm ready for the fill. Congratulations to everyone's successes! Looking forward to many more.

    The Firm Wave

This might seem like a silly question but can you use it on carpeted floor or does it have to be a hard surface like wood or tile? Just wondering. Thanks!
  3. I'm in!! I'm pretty new to my banding so I'm not sure what to expect of it yet but I'm setting a goal of 10 pounds by Cinco de Mayo!! Good luck to everyone!
  4. Hi there. I was banded on the 26th also. I was able to go home on the 27th too. So far no fever but I am dealing with a hell of a lot of gas pain. I thought I was fine but tonight I'm hurting a lot. So you're not alone in this. We just have to stick it out until our body recovers. We put it through a lot. Hang in there!!!

March 26th....where are my band twins???

I was banded on the 26th and things went well. I was pretty sore immediately after waking up from surgery but they gave me something for that and I felt better. Friday (yesterday) was the worst for me. I was at my most sore. But today I'm better. I'm not bouncing out of bed yet or anything but I'm up and around. The liquid diet isn't much of an issue for me because it's exactly what it has been for the last 2 weeks. I am finding it hard though to take in near the amount of fluids I was preop. We'll see how it goes as time passes. I hope you guys are doing alright as well. Take care.

Are grits considered a full LIQUID?

I've wondered that exact thing myself. I love them too and wondered if they qualified. I'm going to ask the nutritionist tomorrow. There just a little hardier than some of the soup I've been eating.

March 26th....where are my band twins???

You are by far not alone in that fear. I think I've almost researched myself into the fear at this point. I can feel the anxiety building which of course makes sticking to this liquid diet harder than hell. But so far still no cheating. We just have to think positive and believe in ourselves. I know there's always been a voice of doubt in the back of my head whenever I've attempted something new. I'm working really hard at quieting that voice this time and taking control. We can do this. It'll be trial and error at points but we'll succeed! Hopefully with as little gagging as humanly possible because I REALLY hate the idea of that too!

    Pre-Op Diet

What kinds of stuff does your pre-op diet include? I've been on mine for a week and it includes cream Soups, Jello, pudding, popsicles...low fat/sugar free. I still have another week of it. Actually as of next Tuesday, I go on Clear Liquids only. It's not lots of fun but it's managable...I promise. You can do it. Once you get started it'll come easier. It'll be over before you know it. Hang in there!

March 26th....where are my band twins???

Hey Monica ~ I have a co-worker who was banded in February and her Dr. didn't require the pre-op diet either. Its not been the most fun thing so far but it's kick-started the weight loss a bit so for that I'm thankful. (She says as she sips her cup of broth...YUM :tongue_smilie:) My surgery is early in the A.M. too but I'm not sure it's first. I agree though. The less time spent sitting around worrying the better. It's be a tough enough day as it is. I'm counting the days too. I find myself looking at my calendar a lot. I have no doubt your surgeon will be good to go on the 26th. It'll be here before we know it. Keep in touch! Mary

    Pre-Op Diet

My surgery is the 26th and I'm on a liquid diet until then. He wants us on it for 2 weeks prior to surgery and then I go on Clear liquids ONLY 2 days before surgery which should be lots of fun. It's not AS uncomfortable as I thought it was going to be but it isn't fun either.

March 26th....where are my band twins???

I'm on the 26th too! I'm really excited but working my way through this 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Just trying to keep in mind what it's all about. It's hard though heating up Soup day after day. Good luck!
