if you would really like to "feel" your port, do this - it always works. lie on your back and raise up like you are doing a sit up - at the same time poke around the big scar and you should feel it. i occassionally check mine just to see if it is still there. slwc banded may 2006 starting weight: 305 current: 235

doesn't it feel fantastic to put on clothes you haven't worn in quite a while and they fit. i experienced that this weekend. probably haven't worn this certain pair of pants in at least 3 years. i wore them sunday with great comfort. keep up the good work - let's all keep up the good work!:clap2: slwc Banded May 9, 2006 Medical Center East - Birmingham, AL

diane, yes i was recently banded on the 9th of may. i've been very pleased so far. i began getting frustrated about 3 - 4 weeks after surgery because that is when i began eating mushies and the weight was not coming off as easy. then again, i was not walking or drinking my water like i should. got back on track again right before my first fill and at 6.5 weeks post op, i've lost 28 pounds. things picked up again after my fill the other day. i've experienced very little pain and thank God i never experienced any of the shoulder pain from the surgery that i've read so much about. i understand that is near unbearable. let me try out my ticker and info. have a great weekend! shonda Banded May 9, 2006 Medical Center East - Birmingham, AL

i experienced my first pb last night while eating supper. i didn't think i had eaten that much but guess it was one bite too many. i am so appreciative of this support group because of the descriptions people offer of things that happen. i knew as soon as i swallowed the bite what it was. i felt the "golf ball" caught in my chest. the only place for it to go was out. thank goodness it was only the last bite that came up and after that, i felt like a million bucks. hard lesson learned! i had my first fill on tuesday, the 20th, and i can fill major restriction. has anyone else been able tell a significant difference after just one fill? aside from the pb last night, i've been able to keep everything down. i've lost 4 lbs. since tuesday so i definitely can tell i'm restricted. i've got to go work on my profile here so i can put all of the cutsie little tickers on like all of you. thanks, everyone, for their continuous supportive postings. you guys have made this so much easier! slwc

i just had a fill yesterday and the nurse practiitioner hit it on first try. i opted for the numbing agent and never felt anything beyond that stick other than pressure. i'm feeling some restriction today and have been able to keep solids down. the np told me to continue with softies yesterday and i could do solids again today. so far, so good, because i'm dreading the first pb - if and when it ever happens.
