    bbbarger

Hello, I just turned 61 on Jan 17 and was banded on Jan 28. It's never too late !!! Haven't regreted one minute on my decision. I feel so much better already. I have at least 100 lbs to go, have lost 35 lbs so far. My Dr does his fills a little at a time so my weight loss I feel is a little slower than alot of people, But 35 lbs is great and I'm not complaining:thumbup: So just go for it, you won't be sorry. Take the leap !!!! Paula Good luck !

I don't know what to do!

you definetly need to get a "bariactric" surgeon !!!!!!!
  5. Thats a good one!!!You know I have never thought about it but I haven't crossed my legs since I got down to about 205 that was about 3 years ago. I try it now and again but I must say mission impossible...lol.. As I get this weight down I will hit you back and let you know how its coming.

What are you looking forward to???

I would just love to be able to cross my legs and to finally wear a dress again. My legs haven't seen daylite in a least 30 yrs. Honestly !!!!!!!

    Nervous-1st fill tomorrow

Hello, I was scared to death when I had my first fill, I feared it more than surgery. My port is located high up on my waist right between the breast bone. My Dr put it their because there is less fat therefore making it easier for the fill. I just had my 3rd one today and have never had to have any numbing meds or any floura (sp). Honestly ,not one has ever hurt, just feels like a needle prick. Only takes about 30 seconds. You will be fine !!! Best of luck on your journey. Paula
  8. Hello and congrats !! I was banded Jan 28th and have lost 27 lbs and all that was lost pre op and 1 mo after surg. I am stuck here, I have very little restriction. I get my 3rd fill tomorrow. Would you mind telling me what a days meal consists of. I have to be doing something wrong. Do u drink all of your water and do u do protein shakes. Please advise !!! Thanks, Paula

  9. Don't feel bad, I was banded Jan 28th and I am in the same boat with you. I've lost 27 lbs and have been stuck there for months. I just don't get it !!!! :frown: I go for my 3rd fill wed, hopefully this will help as I can eat just about whatever I want right now. I need restriction !!!!!! When were you banded ? Good luck !

    I need advice/support

Wow !! I can't believe you can't have broth or jello. Your Dr is really strict. Try some sugar free popsicles, that might help a little.

    How obvious is your port?

My port is located between my breast bone. Less fat there and fills are easier to do. Can't see mine either. And the fills do not hurt ! Good luck !
  13. Ok, regardless if you have the band or the GB you are more than likely going to have the excess skin, but sweetheart that should be the least of your worries. At 25 you have plenty of time to worry about the excess skin. Your health is more important than anything. I have been heavy most of my life and have missed out on so much by being so overweight. You can do something about it NOW.Get your life and health back so you can enjoy the wonderful years ahead of you. My friend ,who was my inspiration for me getting the band , weighed in at 406 on the day she was banded ,lost a total of 165 lbs in her first year. Totally amazing, she looks and feels wonderful. To date has lost 185lbs. She is twice your age and then some , so the excess skin is not on the top of her worries. She just throws on a pair of spanx. I was banded Jan 28th and have lost 27lbs. I don't have much restriction yet so my weight loss has been a little slow. Hopefully with my second fill I will get more restriction(Jan 12th). Whichever way you choose to go(and you should have a choice) I think it will be a journey that you will never regret. Hang in there , and good luck. Paula :cool2:
  14. I also was put on a high dose (5,000 iu) once a week for 8-12 weeks. I guess I was low too.Have had blood work since and I guess everything is ok. Hope so anyway.
