Hi, I was banded july 2nd, please dont be so hard on yourself. This is a huge transitional period for you. I think your family should be more behind you, i bought a book by Robert Sewell, called "Weight loss surgery with the adj. gastric band" and there is a chapter just for your family, to know what you are going through. you should try to let the read this, i believe it would help. i too went through a " what the crap did i do to myself" phase for about 5-6 days. It will pass, and if not please let your Doctor know ASAP, hopefully they are supportive. Just hang in there this is what some call "bandster h*ll" let me know of you need anything! mandy

Hi all just checking in. I had my staples removed and it feels so good!! I still have a long way to go, im drinking 45-55 oz a day now. I also have lost as of today 20.7 pounds. I can't wait until i start "soft" foods next thursday. Right now I can eat about a teaspoon or two of pudding and i ma stuffed! I came out of surgery with restriction, and had to be put on steroids to get down water. Has this happened to any one else? thanks

thanks for the advice, yes i was banded 3 days ago and it is finally going ok. I still can't take in more than 2-3 oz an hour, but im pushing on. hope everyone had a great weekend

Hi all, i really hope someone will read this. I was banded yesterday and cant drink more than 1ounce at a time. I get hiccups, and feel like i will vomit. i prpbably have has 6 or 7 ounces today and its 2pm. i dont know what to do, is this normal? thanks

I talked to Bc/Bs today and apparently not all of my paperwork was sent in! :crying::wub::eek:AAAHHHHH!!!! so now I have to keep a rally close check i guess! I tried not to micromanage and trust that everything would get done, but I guess I'll have tjo be more proactive. If anyone else has info. I would really appreciate it. I am SO ready for change!! Hi everyone. I am so sad, BC denied me today. they said i had only one comorbid cond. and lower than 40 bmi :crying: i weighed 5 pounds to littl ein 2006, and this kept me from getting approved. I am already out well over $1,000, and so sad and disgusted. please give me any ideas as to what to do next. i havent received the letter yet, but dr miles office called me to tell me what BC/BS said. Thanks fo the help!!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to check in. I rec'd a letter from bcbs today and they need different weights from 2006, this was sent in today so hopefully i will get approved. Also, me sleep apmea # was 76.5, it needs to be over 50 they said for ins. to cover the surgery. I don't know though... I have been really sad and depressed lately, bc they had to cancel my surgery on the 13th. please keep me i your prayers, i really feel like this surgery is meant for me. Hopefully I will hear back in a week or so. Venzwife, I am soooo excited you have your date, I know you will do awesome. I am coming to the meeting tomorrow, bc I really need to get back on track, and need encouragement. Thanks all, Amanda

hi everyone I am so sad! I went for my last weigh in today, they submitted to bc/bs and they have to review my records. The lady expected them to approve it in a few minutes while I waited on the phone, so I am so sad!!! Has this happened to anyone else? Apparently I didn't weigh enough in 2006, like 196 pounds isn't enough for someone who is 5'0"! Anyway thought I would let everyone know.

You are so soon after surgery, don't worry you will start to lose. they pumped you full of fluids by IV in the hospital, and your body thinks it's starving, due to lack of calories. It will just take a little longer and your body will adjust. Congrats on your band, and keep up the good work!

I have Bc/Bs ppo and tuesday weigh in for my final time it has been 7 months or 6 full months. They told my Dr. I had to do the full 6 mo weigh in's monthly around the same day of the month. I have weighed in on the 5th-7th of each month since november. I hope this helps, I will glady share more if you need me too. My surgery is scheduled for May13th. Good luck!

Hey, I am using Dr. Miles, Angela is handling everything, that's who I sent all the copies to, and I didn't take the nutrition cert to her yet. She told me to make sure to bring it Friday 9th at my pre-op appt.

Hey, it was great meeting you today too. Also, Angela had called when I got home and set up my surgery for May 13th YEAH!!!!!! I hope everything (ins.) goes through, she said we could get an approval the same day on the 5th. Good luck with your also! God Bless

I also did not go to my 10 yr reunion. I hate that I didn't like myself enough to go. I believe I am getting better now.

I am also going wed. am, i have already paid the 60.00, over the phone to save time and have preregistered. They told me to be there by 7:30am at the latest and it would last about 3 hours. I haven't submitted everything to bc/bs yet, i still need my last weigh in May 5th. Hope this helps
