  1. WOO -HOO! ImaDucky is approved! That is awesome! (I almost called you "chica", then realized that I don't actually KNOW that you are female! I just assumed? Let me know! LOL)

And WOW on that protein you found! I'm going to have to go look for that! FYI, use the two scoops per 8 oz. of water...that gives you the full 52g of protein, and you need that!

Naw, that is not too much for you! Your ticker says 132 pounds. (Jeez I'm jealous of it, too.) So that would be 132 grams of protein a day. Let's say your body fat percentage is 25. That would leave your lean weight at 99. You could do 99 grams if you really tried, Gen! Now if I am at 175 and have a body fat percentage of 25, my protein requirement would be 131. I can do that without blinking. Oh and each gram of protein is 4 calories, so that isn't too much!
  3. Oh, I know you were kidding! I love your sense of humor, Enchanted!

In all honesty and seriousness, I am wondering about the one gram per pound thing being universal. I will check it out. What got me wondering was FaithMD. Like I said, those protein recommendations are usually spouted by bodybuilders and elite athletes. Personally, I KNOW that they look into this more than most others. And I hate to say it for fear of lynching, but lapband docs are likely at the bottom of the list of folks giving correct protein recommendations. They usually don't even meet government recommendations, which are lame. (Did you know that all RDA's are based on a sedentary male, about 5'8", 140# from almost 40 or 50 years ago? That's ridiculous.) But I digress...what I'm wondering is if it wouldn't be more accurate to say one gram of protein per lean pound of body mass? I may be way off base, but will be researching that. These folks who say one gram per pound are usually hovering at 5% body fat, for pete's sake!
  6. Yes, well good judgement has to come into play here, you know! LOL The holiday season? Presidents Day? Me thinks you jest at this point. I don't go on big vacations but once or twice a year, and not all would prompt me to unfill. Vegas would definitely have me unfilling! I love Vegas and go every year. A week at the lake? No...no unfill for that...but Vegas? Oh yeah, baby! That is one way of looking at it...the best of both worlds. I self-pay for fills now since we changed insurance recently, but that wouldn't stop me. My doc charges $150 for a fill and nothing for an unfill. That is expensive for some, and not for others...that's a personal decision there. I think the temporary freedom is awesome in a situation like a big vacation. To me, that would add SO MUCH to the enjoyment of the trip. Others think it's nuts, so what can I say? If you read my posting history, I think you would be hard-pressed to find someone more positive, more dedicated to her own and others' band success, more dedicated to eating clean and exercising. So my decision to unfill would certainly not be made out of weakness...I am not weak. It would be made to HAVE FUN!
  7. BTW...I meant to ask...what brand of protein did you buy that is so high in protien? I use EAS that has 27, but would LOVE to find one with much more.
