    September Exercise Challenge

I've decided I need my weekends off, so my goal is going to be two hours a day, Mondy thru Friday. That about covers my bike ride every morning after I drop my son off at school. My goal is 2400. I HAVE to get to ONE-derland soon, and I want to be down to at least 175 for vacation at the beginning of November.

Glad to hear you have been with us! Yes, I've heard of Joel Osteen. I have several of his books, and have attended his church several times with a friend. He's also been a guest speaker at my church (www.fellowshipchurch.com) and I enjoy him immensely. I will be sure to add you to my prayer list. I hope your aunt finds peace and His will.

I don't know how much I will be able to be on here for the next three weeks. Hubby gets off his plane in about two hours and will be home for three weeks (YIPPEE!), so I'm sure we will be very busy. But you all are always on my mind, and I will try to check in at least every other day...maybe more if I can. Keep posting so I can keep up with you guys!

SOCIAL SECURITY SEX Two men were talking. "So, how's your sex life?" "Oh, nothing special. I'm having Social Security sex." "Social Security sex?" "Yeah, you know; I get a little each month, but not enough to live on!" LOUD SEXA Wife went in to see a therapist and said, "I've got a big problem, doctor. Every time we're in bed and my husband climaxes, he lets out this ear splitting yell." "My dear," the shrink said, "that's completely natural. I don't see what the problem is." "The problem is," she complained, "it wakes me up!" QUIET SEXTired of a listless sex life, the man came right out and asked his wife during a recent lovemaking session, "How come you never tell me when you have an orgasm?" She glanced at him casually and replied, "You're never home!" CONFOUNDED SEXA man was in a terrible accident, and his "manhood" was mangled and torn from his body. His doctor assured him that modern medicine could give him back his manhood, but that his insurance wouldn't cover the surgery since it was considered cosmetic. The doctor said, "the cost would be $3,500 for small, $6,500 for medium, $14,000 for large." The man was sure he would want a medium or large, but the doctor urged him to talk it over with his wife before he made any decision. The man called his wife on the phone and explained their options. The doctor came back into the room, and found the man looking dejected. "Well, what have the two of you decided?" asked the doctor. The man answered, "She'd rather remodel the kitchen." WEDDING ANNIVERSARY SEX A husband and his wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary. The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads: 'Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever'." "Yeah," she replies, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads: 'Here Lies My Husband - Stiff At Last.'" WOMEN'S HUMOROUS SEX My husband came home with a tube of K Y jelly and said, "This will make you happy tonight." He was right. When he went out of the bedroom, I squirted it all over the doorknobs. He couldn't get back in. ELDERLY SEX One night an 87 year old woman came home from Bingo to find her 92 year old husband in bed with another woman. She became violent and ended up pushing him off the balcony of their 20th floor assisted living apartment. Killing him instantly. Brought before the court on charge of murder, the judge asked her if she had anything to say in her defense. She began coolly, "Yes, your honor, I figured that at 92, if he could have sex... He could fly."

Congrats on having to buy new drawers! LOL Thanks for the nice comment. It makes me feel better...sometimes I wonder if I over-post and am annoying! LOL I'm really not much of a chatterbox at all, but really want this thread to keep going. I know everyone is lurking out there and wish they would post, too. I like to hear what is going on, and when someone posts a problem, we are all quick to rally around with suggestions and support, so it is a good thing to post here.

I just read the greatest story over on my-calorie-counter site. I've seen it before, but it's great EVERY time I read it. I tell my kids all the time, THEY choose what kind of day they will have every morning when they get out of bed...life is about choices. The story is worth sharing, even if you've seen it before! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ READ THIS. LET IT REALLY SINK IN. THEN CHOOSE. John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?" He replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood." Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life. "Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," he said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life." I r eflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back. I saw him about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter," he replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live." "Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked. He continued, "..the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man.' I knew I needed to take action." "What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said John. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity.'" Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead." He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. You have two choices now: 01. Ignore this. 02. Consciously make choices instead of reacting to life situations.

I don't know if you all are doing this already...I've never heard anyone mention it...but are you taking your body measurements? With all my excercise, I'm not losing as fast as I would like, but my body fat percentage is plummeting and my inches are going down steadily. So that is a BIG NSV for me. My body fat percentage has gone from 43.4% to 37.2% as of this evening. (My goal is 25%, but I think I'd be happy with 28%.) I've lost 3.5" in my waist, 4" in my hips, 3.5" in my chest, 2.5" in my thigh, 2.5" in my calf and 2" in my bicep from surgery on June 8th to August 15th. (I measure on the 15th of each month.) That makes me feel better, even though the scale isn't moving down as much as I would like. My biggest dissappointment right now is that I won't make my August 31st goal of being under 200. That sucks. Hopefully next week I can make it, but hubby is coming home for three weeks, so I know he will want to be going out all the time, which means restaraunts, drinks, starbucks...you name it. I understand that, though. He's been gone for eight weeks offshore and is ready to hit dry land RUNNING. Thank goodness he won't be gone that long anymore. I miss my best friend!

Boy, another example of how different docs are, huh? I would think that if you can't eat enough at mealtime, then finishing it up in between shouldn't hurt? I don't know! I'm no doc, for sure! I'm glad you aren't stalled any more, though! Congrats! I hope you find an answer to your dillema on getting enough to eat.

Yes, I would venture to say we all do! Some for different reasons, of course. With me, I love my band...but I get stuck so much and I hate that part of it. Hubby thinks I may need to get a bit of an unfill, but I don't think so, and I "REFUSE" anyhow! LOL I started really paying attention to bite size and chewing today, and I didn't get stuck once all day. Hooray! I understand the problem of not having time to eat at work. I used to manage a Garden Ridge (large retail, in case you don't know what a Garden Ridge is) and I NEVER had time to eat...just scarf something and keep running! It's so bad for you, though. (I know, you know that! ) Maybe you can keep a granola bar/protein bar/meal bar in your pocket? Take a bite here and there? It's actually wonderful for your metabolism to take bites here and there all day to stave off hunger, as long as it's good stuff and not junk. Slim Fast has a FANTASTIC low carb line. I'm not low carb fanatic AT ALL, but their low carb line has tons more protein than their high protein line! (Makes NO SENSE to me.) They have shakes and snack bars. And their Optima line has meal bars that sound positively scrumptious! I always thought those things were expensive, but when you consider how little you are consuming these days, you are still way ahead of the game if you find these might work for you.

I wish everyone would post, good or bad, too! It's too quiet in here! It very well may be that your food is taking time to pass. With me, EVERYTHING takes time to pass...too much time. I'm taking every fiber supplement I can get my hands on, too. Doc says it's common, but it sure would be nice to be regular again. Hot water with lemon/lime/orange is good. I prefer lime or orange. And it's good for you, too!

Thanks, captain...yes, it is nice to be able to ride in a beautiful, shaded (for the most part), protected area...no motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails there. And it's only minutes away for me, like your hiking. I love it out there. One of those pics I should have added a caption to. It is of a retired couple passing me going the other direction. They are out there every day on a tandem recumbent bicycle! They do the full trails twice, which is over 30 miles! They do this Monday thru Friday! They are awsome.

SUZZIE - The recipe looks fantastic! Do you add any sauce to them? I might need to disguise them to keep my kids from knowing they are turkey! LOL I have already pulled off turkey tacos without them knowing, but the turkey burgers failed miserably. They knew right away something was up when they saw the color. So picky! I know if they had tasted them before seeing them, that they would have liked them!
