When I wrote that post, it was scheduled for October 14th, but I got a call from one of the girls this morning and it has been bumped to September 24th due to a cancellation. This is a vast improvement, but I'm used to calling and getting an appointment for three or four days later. Thank goodness I only have to wait two weeks now, though, as compared to the middle of October!

They took over all aftercare for AIGB as of last week and are overbooked for weeks! If you think you may need a fill soon, CALL NOW! I waited too long to begin with, only to find that I can't get in for several weeks! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!

Weight Challenge: Labor Day to Thanksgiving
TexasFire replied to huntersmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm stuck with you guys! STILL! I started lifting weights yesterday and hope that will break my plateau. I also signed up with a personal trainer so she can make sure that I am doing all I can (and doing it correctly) to continue the weight loss. Here's hoping! Good luck everyone...don't give up! I find it rather odd that we are all hitting a plateau at the same time. Maybe that means it is part of the process where are bodies are adjusting to what we have gone through so far and just need to shake things up a bit. I have a "hunch" that we will break through this soon. -
Monthly Total = 760 Minutes 1 hour elliptical 1 hour weight lifting (for yesterday)

I have 4.6 in a 10cc band after three fills. I think they are being conservative with my fills because they are done under flouro and they have me on my back, raise my head and turned to the left and it would be hard for ANYONE to swallow in that unnatural position! I'm eating good (protein first, veggies next, very limited carbs), but I can eat too much at one sitting and am hungry withing two or three hours. I'm thinking I need another fill, but I'm still getting stuck pretty regular. So I'm taking a vote here: should I get the fill and just really concentrate on my chewing and bite sizes? I'm excercising my behind off and the scale has stopped moving for a while now. I'm sick of that! Tell me what you think, people! :help:

CLARAMAE - Thank you! My memory may be failing me here, but I don't recall seeing you on here before, so WELCOME! Please stick around! Even though you were banded in August, you can be a "JUNIE" too! JUNIES ROCK! Good luck on your journey, and come here often...especially if you are down and don't feel like it, because that is when you need us the most. Right now I'm struggling through my first bad patch...weight not dropping much at all. But I keep coming in and seeing what is going on...helping where I can and asking for help, too. There are some great folks here and everyone is always willing to lend a shoulder, some advice, or a butt-kicking if it's needed! LOL Glad to see you here! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And to everyone here...have a great weekend!

I did a daring thing today. Hubby and I went shopping for new luggage for our upcoming vacation. Next to the luggage store was a formal shop. We decided to take a look since I will be needing two formals for Vegas. Well I tried two on, and I bought two! The daring part was the extra-large fit well, so I bought larges. Now I HAVE to work hard to get a little more "pudge" off or these dresses will not work for vacation! It was so much fun, though! One of the dresses I bought is a dark red, almost metalic, halter dress...low cut and va-va-va-VOOM! I opened the door to the dressing room and hubbys jaw hit the floor! I LOVE IT! He immediately told the sales girl, "WE ARE GETTING THAT ONE!" Losing weight is gut-wrenching...literally and figuratively...but it's also so much fun! Now I just have to get used to the idea of "going commando" with these dresses! There is no way I could wear them with anything underneath...everything would show! (panty lines and such) What do ladies do about that? I'm such a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and just don't know!

Weight Challenge: Labor Day to Thanksgiving
TexasFire replied to huntersmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think about two weeks or so. I have lost about two pounds in that time, but that is a drastic change from before. I will definitely try changing up the eating, but I don't know what to do to change up the excercise. Maybe add lifting weights? I'm addicted to the bike...can't not do that! I'm not really doing anything specifically for upper body...any ideas? I'd love to see four to five pounds gone a week like before. -

I think we might be onto something here. I think I've been a total bitch lately, too. I never was one to let people walk all over me...not even close. I've always been over-opinionated! LOL But now it is ten times worse! I have ZERO patience for my mother...she drives me absolutely NUTS if I'm in the same zip code as her for more than two minutes. I normally tolerate her "blonde-ness" a lot better. Now, when I'm around her, I keep saying in my head "stupid, stupid, stupid"...how mean is that? And she KNOWS I'm barely tolerating her, too. I can't keep my opinion from showing in my face. I told off my husband twice in the last two days...very short with the kids' antics, but I've got teenagers 15 and 18 so that is probably par for the course there! LOL Seems I'm bickering with everyone lately! On one hand, I'm just not holding anything back and saying what's on my mind (which I believe to be 110% valid and correct, of course! LOL), but my mouth has now lost what little bit of "filter" it had. I need one of those t-shirts that say "Total bitch, and PROUD OF IT!"

Weight Challenge: Labor Day to Thanksgiving

My weight loss has come to almost an absolute standstill. No clue what the deal is...frustrating! I'm so close to "ONE-derland", but I can't get there! ARGH! I'm excercising like crazy, too! I don't know what I'm doing wrong! My body fat is droppin like crazy, but the weight is static. Venting aside, I need to figure this out if I am going to be successful at this challenge. I'd love it if I could do it before my vacation at the beginning of November, but right now all I'm doing is treading water. Has anyone discussed this with their doctors/nutritionists/nurses? Any suggestions? -
Oh my goodness! Y'all are so sweet! Keep it coming! LOL (Just kidding!) Seriously, everyone here is doing so well from what I can tell. Eating habits are changed/changing, some feel restriction and some don't/some are losing lots and some are losing littles. LOL The main thing is that habits are changing! Lord knows everyone is SHOCKED that I am watching what I eat and excercising...two things I NEVER did before in my LIFE! The band is frustrating, to be certain...and we all fall off the horse once in a while (for me, it was tonight at CiCi's Pizza!). I think all that is par for the course on this journey we have chosen. Tears and frustration are part of the package, unfortunately. But they are not ever as bad as they feel at the moment we experience them! I'm so glad I've found this place! I have learned SO MUCH from you folks! Can you imagine all those bandsters out there that don't even know places like this exist, and are doing this all on their own? What a horrifying thought, huh?

Hi, folks! Just checking in and BOY! You guys have a lot going on! I have no clue what that conversation was about pannus...what the heck is that?!?!? LOL Just to summarize...looks like everyone is doing okay...even the ones who don't feel like they are doing okay...YOU ARE DOING OKAY! Well, hubby is home...schedules change...habits change...foods change....ARGH! I'm not losing very much right now, but at least I'm not gaining. We are having a ball...I love it when he is home! Even if we just hang out in our PJ's watching movies. If this rain gives us a break, we have to put up about 200 feet of privacy fence and build two gates at one of our flip houses. That will NOT be fun. Anybody got a magic wand I can borrow to just "make it appear"? I miss hanging out with y'all, but I'm popping in when I can! I read/lurk some every day, though. Take care everyone!

Monthly Total = 220 Minutes 60 minutes elliptical 60 minutes recumbent bike (hill trainer program) (It's raining, so no trail ride today. ) I went to a bike shop yesterday. The manager was so nice, had me bring my bike in and he set it up properly for me. Seat height and angle, handlebar height and angle, brake lever location. They actually measure the angle of your knee when you are in the saddle pedaling....I never knew it was so precise! I got some padded underlayers to go under my shorts, so hopefull my arse won't hurt so bad now! LOL And I was also having a problem with the circulation getting cut off in my hands after about eleven miles, so I got some gloves with gel pads in them. I was anxious to ride this morning to see if all this "junk" really helps, but it's raining and will be all week. Phooey!

Good going, Sweety! Going for that "BOWFLEX BODY", huh? LOL I read your post on the June thread. Don't beat yourself up...you need a day like that once in a while. You are doing great!
