That's great! Flower Mound is just a few minutes down the highway from me. In fact, I will be having Christmas there on Saturday with extended family. I would love to have EVERYONE here! I am so "I am woman, hear me ROAR" by nature, but when it comes to entertaining I turn into "Suzie Homemaker" and want everyone to be taken care of and have a great time in my home. SO FUN!

Our parties have been that big...in fact there are quite a few partiers on my block! But after thinking about it, I realized there just aren't that many folks on the threads! DUH me! We will still get it going, though! I think it would be a blast to meet everyone!

Yeah, I know. I've never seen her teach a class...I would hope she would be peppy. But the true person that I see every day sits behind the desk, never smiling, talks in a monotone, acts holier-than-thou...so if she was peppy in a class I was taking, it would piss me off because I would know she's a big fake. (Uh-oh...are my cat claws showing? :omg:) I agree with you, JM...I feel so good when I work out. Makes me all happy and wanting more and more!

I sure will! Big BBQ at my house next summer! Swimming, biking along the Trinity River, chickens on fire on the grill (see other thread to know what that means! lol)...tons of folks and fun! It IS enjoyable! It's addictive! I could LIVE at the gym! I know I've said it before...(and all things are not true for all people, I know)...if you make yourself go five days a week for a couple weeks, you will get to the "lovin' it" phase, too. I despised working out until I made myself go every day for a couple weeks. Now I can't live without it!

Way to go, Jess! I hear Zumba is fun. I would take that, but the chick who teaches it is not my favorite person...I cannot stand to be around people who are always gloomy and negative, and she is. Okay, folks! I know this is like asking a fellow junkie to hold my stash so I won't get high again, but here goes: I could be faster... I could reduce my wind resistance... On a final note, yes the Baskin Robins is gone and is now a beauty shop...and that whole strip is no longer hot pink. It was hot pink since the 70's and has just been redone this year. But the skating rink is still there! And I remember, and LOVED, doing the hokey pokey there! My son goes there once in a while. Boy, if our parents knew even 1/100th of the crap that went on at that skating rink, they would have locked us up and NEVER let us go there again! I was a real rink rat, could skate like nobodys business...LIVED there. In fact, my ring tone on my cell phone is "Brick House" because of my skating memories at Skateland! My kids always bug me to get a new ring tone, but I refuse...it's been "Brick House" for years and years and years...phone after phone after phone! It's my trademark! Shame on me, but I'm not sure...Winnie's may STILL be there, but I just haven't paid attention even though I go past there every day. I work out at the Hurst Rec Center, so you know what I mean! Oh yeah, The Poppin' Place is amazing! My son still loves to go there in summer to get sno-cones. I don't recall Santa and the helicopter! How could I have missed that? I'm assuming you are talking about the bank that was by 7-11 that is now an insurance agency? Bank of Texas, I think? My mom banked there forever. I've always had giddy nostalgia for my childhood here...I LOVE HURST! The rec center, the pool, Redbud Park, riding bikes and skateboards everywhere....it was great! Okay, we have officially hijacked this thread!

Yes, it is! Yeah, the bike shop was in there with Winnies Fish & Pets, which I loved! "The Poppin' Place" is still there and going stronger than ever...in fact my sis and BIL just opened a popcorn shop near Clemson in South Carolina based on that very store! I tried to go there today to buy some Christmas popcorn tins, but I couldn't even get near the parking lot it was so busy.

Thanx for the encouragement, JM! I bet I will love it, too, from what all I'm hearing about it. That is a major NSV for you with the wanting to stay at the gym and not as interested in food! CONGRATS! I know I could just LIVE at the gym, but I don't think I'd be married very long if I worked out much more than I do now! I moved up to 20 pound dumbells for chest flies and 25 pound dumbells for rows! I know I'll be sore tomorrow, but it sure feels great at the same time!

OMG!!!!!!!! That is "my" 7-11! In fact, I'm drinking a capuccino from that store right now! We must've been pretty close neighbors, because I've been going to that 7-11 since 1978!

Jess, I'm the same as you...worry about keeping up with new things. It usually turns out that I worry for nothing and I'm sure the same is true for you. Go for that class! I signed up for two spin classes...one includes core work...not sure how that will go down, but I'm game for anything! Unfortunately the classes don't start until the middle of January, but that will let me recover from the holiday rush anyhow.

Oh I'm so glad they still had them!
