Well, JM...I didn't do as well today! Things were so crazy that I didn't get my ride in, so I need to do it tomorrow for sure! You, too! Do something, anything...you will be glad you did! I'm so excited, too! Hubby gave me a complete trainer system for my bike tonight! I can't wait to get it set up so I can ride my road bike at home when it's icky or too cold outside! Or anytime, really! What a great solution to insomnia, huh?

I'm so excited! Hubby gave me a complete trainer system tonight for Christmas! I can't wait to get it set up!
-
Yes! Merry Christmas Eve to all! I luv y'all! (I love Rudolph!)
-
By the way, I did go for that ride, and it was invigorating! The tights work great...my legs were not a bit cold! I also wore Under Armor technical tee and hoodie, so wasn't cold there, either. My toes and ears were frozen, however, so I need an Under Armor headband for my ears and a set of Toesties to go over my bike shoes. Other than that, the ride was fantastic! It was dark, and the light worked great. I rode the concrete path around the lake in my neighborhood and then all over the neighborhood for a good hour. Not a training ride (60+ miles)...but a different, good ride. I must do that again tomorrow and Christmas!
-
Hello, JC! Merry Christmas to you, too! Sorry about your working woes...I hope you get resolution around that soon. We look forward to having you back on a more regular basis!
-
Okay, don't hang me guys, but I feel so good! I just got back from a good hour ride. It is 43 degrees here and feels like 38 according to YAHOO Weather. These cold weather tights REALLY WORK! I wore an Under Armor tehcnical tee and an Under Armor hoodie with Under Armor gloves, and the only parts of me that were cold were my toes and ears. Under Armor is a little pricey, but so worth it for comfort while working out. I guess now I need to get a headband/ear cover to keep my ears warm and some Toesties to put over my bike shoes to keep my toes warm. They hurt they are still so cold! It was a really invigorating ride, though!

Oh, and they are called tire levers...but wrench is a more appropriate term since you use them to WRENCH the effing tire off when you have an effing blowout! LOL
-
J - You are VERY WELCOME! So glad you liked your "mixed bag" of goodies! I'm pleasantly surprised that it arrived in time!
-
Okay, we all know that "soon" never comes. I'm putting on my cold weather bike clothes and going for a ride right this second while I am thinking about it. Put me down for an hour!
-
Oh boy. No workout Thursday, Friday, Saturday or today. Gym is closed tomorrow and the next day, of course. Gotta get on my bike and get out the dumbells soon.
-
Oh, Jess...I am so sorry for your loss. So sorry. Bringing tears to my eyes. You are in my prayers this morning.
-
I am so glad that I'm not the only one who sucks at getting to the post office! Though I did get mine in the mail yesterday...finally...I doubt it will be on time.
-
Oh my...I didn't realize it was a wound. I'm so sorry! On the flipping...I didn't know "jack" until I started with my first house. I have a handyman who taught me so much! He is such a perfectionist, like me, and is the ONLY person I will allow to work on my personal home. I learned so much this year. Actually, I hate to call him a handyman...he's a remodeling GOD!

I agree...definitely a compliment. On the flip side, I think you hit the nail on the head about being uncomfortable with the comment...the flip being that you might have a hard time accepting compliments. Just a thought. And you are not huge, as you say. You just aren't. You are beautiful. And your spirit is even more beautiful. Face it, girl...you are a total package and you need to learn to say, "Thank you! I DO look good, don't I?" with a big smile on your face!

I FOUND IT! I'M NOT CRAZY AFTER ALL! (Well, at least regarding this one instance...)
-
Thanks, J...yeah, it's pretty hard with him gone all the time...he's my best friend of almost 25 years. But I get into a pattern with life in general and deal with it. Now the thought of that getting all twisted with the unknown of a new company, that's tough. The oil business is so volatile and he's in a good place now...dunno about taking a chance on this new opportunity. But it is his decision....he has to do the work and choose what will make him happy day in and day out since he is at it so much. I told him I'll just smile and be supportive, and then chew my nails off when he's not looking! Basically, I guess I am a SAHM. I actually flip houses, but I quit for the year back in August and still have two yet to sell, so I am not interested in taking on another project for a while. I do almost all of the work myself and it is hard work. I rehabbed four houses this year...I think that is enough for one body. Yep, it sounds like I am confused again! LOL I must be thinking of someone else going flying in their front yard.
-
J - Yeah, I remember BG's story going flying off the bike, but I thought you went down in your front yard not too long ago? Tripped over something? Maybe I'm "mis-remembering"! Took me a sec to figure out what PS was...DUH me! I have been thinking about it lately, but for purely vain reasons. Losing the weight is making my tummy all puckered, but not enough that insurance would ever even consider it, and it may still recover enough. But I'm looking into a mini-tuck and a boob job. Trying to find cost info, but it is being elusive thus far. And now hubby just texted me that he is considering another position with another company! ARGH! I hate it when my apple cart gets upset! (I'm SUCH a true Taurus.) I don't have all the info yet, though. He makes insane money with great benefits, but he was gone 261 days last year working offshore. Money is not worth it, to be certain. I'm anxious to hear what this is all about. I don't do anxious well. Crap.
-
ABSOLUTELY something you can buy! Two houses in Arlington and one in Ft. Worth! LOL (I "flip" houses.) On a serious side, how amazing for you to respond that way! Thank you!
-
J - Hearing about your being sore reminded me of when you took flying lessons in your front yard not too long ago! I can't recall exactly what the circumstances were...remind me? I just know that it was pretty darn funny after we knew you were okay!

The coffee shop covers are cool...I hope they turn out to be the right ones for you. My bike is a Specialized Dolce.
-
B - Yeah, I love that store! I see why you would expect a hole in the wall because of the shopping center, but as you saw, it's a fantastic store. I was actually there last night, as well. Looking at aerobars, and can't figure out how they could work on my bike. I actually walked out of there for the first time without making a purchase! That is a miracle for me! And Pet-O-Rama is pretty cool, too...my kids love going in there.
-
Oh, me too, HP! To my person: please forgive my lateness and know that I heart you even if I'm late with SS!
-
Hey, all! Glad to hear that everyone is still going strong, even with the colds and sore muscles and the like. That goes for me, too...I'm SO tired, but I can't miss the gym! Worked out for an hour and a half on biceps/triceps. Really pushing hard these days, and putting on a little weight because of it...I want muscle, but I hate that it weighs more. Still waiting to see how things pan out with the scale at the end of the week. Happy Thursday tomorrow to everyone!

OMG Suzzzie! I am EXACTLY the same way! I think it's because I always end up working for arrogant, self-important, puffed up, don't-know-shit MEN! I have always worked in industries dominated by men, thus having to work twice as hard for half the recognition, which pisses me off from the start. I always have to open my mouth when stupid presents itself! My mouth has no filter and I am so domineering in the work environment! Maybe that is why I work for myself now! No one else will put up with me! LOL
