J - That sounds like an awesome class! That is something we all should do. I can't wait to hear you report back after the class. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, I made a hard decision and gutted my office. Since we are wireless and everyone in the house has a laptop, I took out the desktop computer and all furniture in my office except my mini-fridge and am turning it into a workout room. (Hard as I tried, I just couldn't rectify myself to having that gym in my bedroom.) All my files are now in the garage when I need them...so no big deal there. Hubby is in there now, putting the gym together...and fussing and cussing...and calling me "sweet-ums, love of my life, pain in my ass" every time he walks through the room to get more parts! LOL That thing must have a gazillion pieces!

Glad to hear you are mostly okay today. Kinda worried about the "day after" affects for you! I understand about the difference from recumbent to upright for the Speedplays. The other side of the coin is that, like I said, it took me quite a while to get used to mine. But once I did, it was like the light bulb going on in my head in eighth grade and finally understanding Algebra...I didn't understand why I didn't "get it" before that. The Speedplays are kind of like that for me now...can't see why I had so much trouble to start with. You will get there, too. I think my main problem was in my head, being uncomfortable with them, afraid of them. I hope you get used to your yellow lollipops soon!

Hey, Tulip! Dr. Marsden is my doc, too! Welcome! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay...LOVE the trainer! Once we got it all adjusted properly, it was a dream. I geared up and rode for two hours this morning. Also went and got a home gym last night. Will be rearranging my bedroom tonight to accomodate it. If I put it in the garage like the last one, I will never use it! This one has a leg extention on it, too...so I am excited to start using it as well. Of course, hubby wanted to know if I was going to quit going to the gym now that I have the home gym! NOPE! This is in ADDITION to my gym time! But I promised him I wouldn't go too crazy when he is on shore. I wish I could get him interested in working out so that this wouldn't be an issue, but no luck so far. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have a great weekend, y'all!

B - God Bless you for keeping at it today! Did you pose your query to the LBS personnel? Did they have any advice? I can tell you are okay because you tell the story with humor. And tell it well, as usual...had me giggling. I hope you feel okay when you wake up in the morning! ALL - I saw a cyclist today at a major intersection near my home. He was first in line at a traffic light. He obviously didn't want to unclip, and proceeded to just balance there, moving his feet back and forth ever so slightly, barely noticeable. It was amazing to watch him, as this was traffic time and he was on the unfortunate side of the light, and was balancing there for several full minutes...I'd say at least three or four full minutes. Then the light turned green for us and we had to turn left going around him. No telling how long he sat there. I was very impressed, to say the least. Now I have to try it, God help me!

Two hours at the gym today on biceps/triceps. We had a third person with us today, so it went SO SLOW! So all in all I may have gotten a good hour in.
-
B - Wow, that's an amazing loss in such a short time! Way to go!
-
I gotta ask...what supplements are you taking/going to take? What all did your bodybuilder friend recommend? I hope you do get that ankle seen soon...you've been dealing with that for a while now.

Oh boy...so sore. Today was legs. I was pumped up on grape juice and double my creatine and glutamine. We did supersets on the leg press and I pushed to start with 360 pounds...set of 12 and pull a plate from each side, set of 12 and pull a plate...all consecutively until the plates are gone. I thought my legs would blow up and I would positively puke. Good God, I wonder how often my partner is gonna want to do these! I think he is addicted to the pain! After that, we finished our regular leg routine. It was tougher after the leg press, of course. Hour and a half total. Before the gym I rode 32 miles on my bike. Hubby got the trainer all set up for me this afternoon while I was at the gym, so we will see how that works tomorrow. I think I want a portable DVD player to watch while on the trainer. Time to surf for deals!

OMG that is GREAT! Whooda-thunk?!?!? Looked like the fountain show at the Bellagio in Vegas!
-
Thanx, W! You know I think you're pretty awesome, too! J - Agreed! Where the heck did everyone disappear to? I've come to expect it from HP and JC, but not D and BG! Halloooooooooo out there! B - No carbonation at all for you? I didn't know! What's the story on the Mentos and Coke? Haven't heard about that.
-
Okay, a Coke Zero!
-
I owe ya a Coke!
-
Thanks, WHOS! Yes, I just learned about 21's yesterday! How funny! I will try your suggestions by next week.
-
Angel - Glad to hear you are doing well, and I hope you don't go too stir-crazy! Yes, definitely get out those books and crafts to keep your hands busy and away from the food. Once you heal, you are going to look even more amazing! Dibaby - Good for you on getting back on the wagon! It is so easy to fall off! I actually gave myself "permission" to eat whatever I wanted for a few days up to Christmas, but that is over now, so I'm back on the wagon, too! JM - Yes, keep up those workouts! Don't you have a goal date of some sort? A wedding maybe? I'm sorry I don't recall...please refresh my memory? WHOS - I will keep ya posted on how the trainer works out. I fear boredom, but I don't know why when I love the recumbent at the gym. My IPOD should keep my mind occupied as long as I have the right tunes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, people! I'm looking for everything from conventional to extreme here...what are some of the best ways to blast body fat and send your number plummeting? I have a few things going on that are working, but I will need a couple alternatives to switch things around a bit so I don't plateau. Right now I've got Supersets (lifting), cardio (of course), and a few supplements. I'm looking for changes to incorporate every six weeks or so to keep my body guessing.

Hey there, WHOS! Welcome! You are right...it can be insane in here! Glad to see you here as well as the other thread. J usually covers this, but you need a one or two letter name for yourself in here...maybe W or WD? As far as your hiney, that is the hardest to master. Endurance with your legs is not nearly as difficult as endurance with your butt! You can do it, though...you do so much else, as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J - Yes, I am body building. I realize it is rather contradictory to cycling, but I am utterly passionate about it! (Just ask WHOS! He listens to me drone on about my workouts on the other thread!) I am working out minimum of five days a week with a partner who is more addicted to lifting than I am and he is critical on my form, so he's a fantastic benefit. Plus, I don't have to pay him to work out with me! LOL I have some serious goals surrounding lifting, but they are very long-term and I have so far to go. The first point of order for me is to get my body fat to 22% or lower. If I could reach 20% I would be ecstatic! If I keep up the lifting, cycling and diet like I am...I hope to see at least down to 25% by Spring. It'll be tough, but I think I can do it.
-
"Fat-Ass to World-Class..." I love that! That is exactly how I feel. I have come so far, and yet have so much more work to do to accomplish my goals. I wish there were a shortcut! I want to be a skinny fit bitch RIGHT NOW! B - No problem with the endurance for the rides. That will come. How many miles are you going now?
-
Wow, B! It sounds like you are as focused on your cycling as I am on body building! (That is pretty damn focused!) I would love to know what you finally come up with for the bike training to see if it is something I should glean from. I am really looking forward to getting my trainer set up and going so I can ride that much more. We need to chat soon and set up a ride time and hopefully I can pick your brain for training ideas then, as well. I can tell you are REALLY loving Buttercup! That's great!

An hour and a half today at the gym on chest workout.
-
I think there are a few of us here that may be a tad OCD! (Myself included.) My Dad always says we are ALL crazy...just by different degrees...and I believe that 110%! I heart you all!
-
Thank you! I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I did get that ride in yesterday! About an hour and a half. Today I am taking my tree down and getting my front room cleaned back up from the holiday mess. Then I will set up my bike trainer in there! I can't wait to try it out!
-
B... So glad you got the Speedplays on! Isn't that funny...my left seems to need a little more kick to disengage, as well. Hmmm. I think it's just that I am right handed in all things and may just be less coordinated on that side...who knows. I don't know how to adjust them...haven't tried. Now I must investigate! And LOVE the name Buttercup! My girls name is Giana..."G" for short...means "God's Gracious Gift". Not sure how that applies...just love the name!
