    Realize band

I've got the Inamed 10cc AP with low profile port. I think it has done fantastic for me. I am addicted to exercise, primarily cycling and body building, so my weight loss in pounds is not very indicative of my actual loss. I feel that having the 10cc band allows me more flexibility with fills. But we are all different, and are smart to continue listening to our docs, as always. :rolleyes2:

I would bet Suzzzie's tastes better because it's probably thicker/creamier/sweeter. Just a suggestion, too....for an added protein kick (if you are going to use milk anyhow), you can use chocolate Muscle Milk! Suze, what brand of unflavored protein powder do you use? The one I bought a while back is positively HORRID! (And still sitting in my cabinet, unused.)

I make my own, too...but a lazier version! LOL 8 oz. water 2 scoops chocolate EAS Premium Protien 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter 6-8 ice cubes Blend away and enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This has: 310 Calories 9 Total Fat (2 of them Saturated) 8 Carbs (6 net) 2 Fiber 4 Sugars 46 Protein (27 from the protein powder, 19 from the peanut butter)

How tall are you ZZ? If you are tall like me, you may be better off with a mens bike, which does have the bar. Mine is a womens, but is the tallest made. I could easily go to a mens bike. (But my girl is perfect for me, really!)

MAMATO3 - That is the absolute BEST attitude you could take and I applaud you! You stick to the rules and "obey the band", and you will be fine.

Congrats you two on the leg-crossing and Suzzzie on the smaller scrubs! I remember when I first noticed that I could cross my legs comfortably without using my hands to cross one leg over the other...it was a very cool realization! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now about my fill! I went this morning, as planned, and ended up with a full CC being added. That I received that much is surprising to me, but it was done under flouro, so I'm cool with it. Last fill I was at 5.2 CC in a 10 CC band, so now I'm at 6.2 CC in a 10 CC band. Also, it wasn't October that I got my last fill...it was September 25th! So it has been five months since I got a fill! That is WAY too long to wait...shame on me. And it's funny, because I've only lost 13 pounds since that time, yet my entire body shape has changed. I've actually lost a lot more than 13 pounds of fat...I've just added much poundage of muscle. So the NP says liquids for today, and soft foods for three days. I'm going to have a protein shake here in about a half hour. Actually looking forward to it...chocolate peanut butter! YUM!

Gosh, Suzzzie...I just realized that you are SOOOOOO close to being 100 pounds down! I think you are doing fantastic and probably don't need the drugs. (But look who's talking...I'm a walking pharmacy.) Still, it sounds like you really know what works and doesn't work for you. Even if you DO partake of the creamy frozen goodness we know so well! LOL P.S. Bought a pint of Bluebell Buttered Pecan yesterday, and so proud that I only ate half!

HUNTERSMOM - I am in exactly the same boat as you. My last fill was early October. Up till then, I had been getting fills religiously every month with no problems. I get stuck quite often, and have been hesitant to get a fill. However, I have not lost much weight at all since October and I've finally gotten fed up. So I scheduled a fill and I get it in the morning. We will see how it goes...I will be sure to pay very close attention to how I feel and post it. Maybe it will help you. I just finally had to "get off the fence" and get a fill to see if it would work. It's been WAY too long since my last. Y'all wish me luck, please....and pray that this fill goes okay! This is a scary one for me...they've never bothered me before. I hope I can eat anything at all afterwards!

I remember it talked about that in my discharge instructions after getting banded. With my doc, repeated vomiting requires an immediate unfill. I have gotten sick once and vomited once, and was fine. As we all know, all docs are different, so if you've kept all your paperwork, you might check there to see what your doc says. If not, I would call the office on Monday...sooner if you begin to get sick. I hope it will skip past you for being such a good wife and mom and taking such good care of them!

Yes, thank you! I tend to always go by the old adage, "Trust, but VERIFY". (I'm also wary of Chicken Little yelling that the sky is falling! LOL) So links to real, valid info are invaluable for me!

    February Exercise Challege

DADDY - That is so funny about you getting five inches of snow and no one blinks. If anyone sees even ONE FLAKE here, you'd think the sky was falling! Oh and don't let the news report a half of one percent chance of snow...there won't be a bottle of water on any grocery store shelf in the state! (I exaggerate, but not by much! LOL) Too funny about the hot hairdresser! Yes, you ARE bad! That's why we love you so much! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good workout today...shoulders. An hour and a half. I'm really CONCENTRATING on my form and taking both directions of the movement very slow and controlled. Felt great! Still babying myself a little after the injury, but it's getting better. I just don't want to get too comfortable too soon, so I'm really monitoring how I feel throughout all movements. I hope everyone has a FANTABULOUS weekend! I may be going to a Mavericks game on Sunday...we haven't decided yet. Tomorrow is for being a bum! I may not get out of my flannels!

Zinc and Echinacea lozenges always worked for me...knocks out a cold quick, but they are hard to find in one lozenge. Sometimes you have to buy them separately and I know Walgreens has both of them.

    DFW "meet up"

BigBaby - You're so silly! I'd love to meet you, too! We will...soon. Well, I didn't make it last night. My mom ended up having surgery yesterday on her eyes, so we went over last night to check on her and hang out a bit. I'll post again when I hear of the next meeting.

    DFW "meet up"

Hey, I didn't know we were neighbors, either! I'm PM-ing you my number. I'm on the fence now about going or not (I'm SUCH a pansy about going into the unknown by myself...what a wuss), so if you decide to go just text me or call me and that will decide for me! LOL

    DFW "meet up"

Okay, BigBaby! You know I luv ya, but how the heck is Dallas central for DFW?!?!? LOL HEB or Arlington, maybe! (Yes, MY neck of the woods! :tongue2:) I like the park/walk idea! River Legacy Park is in North Arlington and has miles of great paved trails in a gorgeous setting. But I'll go anywhere to meet up with some fellow bandsters, so count me in. BTW, there is a get together this evening at Mercado Juarez at Matlock & I-20 at 6:30pm tonight. Lap Band Support group meeting that gets its own meeting room and is open to any who want to show up. I have never gone to ANY and I think I might go.

I thought, wow...he has a fantastic memory! Then I remembered we actually lived on the same street at different times in our lives! DUH me! Okay, kiddies! I've got tons to do and I'm still going to the gym from 3pm-5pm as usual! See y'all laterz!

Lands at DFW at 7:51 tonight. Now the whole entourage is going with me to pick him up...kids, mom, grampa. Going to a late dinner straight from the airport. Hmmm....oh well, gotta eat, right? I'm craving Jason's Deli Southwest Chicken Chili!

    Dallas/Ft. Worth Bicycling

Would love to start up a group to go on fun organized rides. Come on, we want you all! At goal folks, no goal folks, wide load folks, banded or not yet banded...we want you all. I have some bike maintenance knowledge and most of the tools needed if some need to get their bikes in shape to start. There are miles and miles of paved trails in Tarrant County....such as River Legacy Park and Trinity Trails to start. COME ON! Old bikes...new bikes...(not invisible bikes! LOL)...let's get them all rolling down the road! You can respond here or PM or EMAIL me from my profile. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THIS GROUP! WE WILL BE VERY FUN, VERY RELAXED, ALL NEW PEOPLE GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER, ALL AT DIFFERENT BANDING STAGES. THIS WILL NOT BE A COMPETITIVE GROUP (UNLESS SOMEONE THINKS THEY CAN KNOCK ME OFF MY SARCASTIC THRONE BY BEING MORE SARCASTIC THAN ME! BRING IT ON! LOL) Let's hear from you and we will start planning our first get together to check everyone's bike safety and go for a short ride along the Trinity River. Note: Padded shorts are recommended, not required. Helmets are required. I can tell you where to get both for cheap if you don't have them.
