    Realize band

Ellisa, so glad to hear you are still at the exercise! I went this morning for a consultation and tour of the school I am considering. I really like it, so I may enroll and begin next month. I'm going to "sleep on it" for a couple days and make sure this is the right one for me. I think I would really enjoy being a personal trainer! Isuza - Wow, in all the hubbub, I missed the fact that you are going to be banded! I thought you were simply offering insight as a professional-in-training! That's awesome! I wish you the absolute best of luck! I know it is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family.

    March Exercise Challenge

Here's how my week has gone so far: Monday was chest day....ooo, me loves chest day! Two full hours in the gym, always six sets of twelve reps: chest press @ 140#, chest flys @ 35# dumbbell (love these), barbell lifts @ 35#, 45 degree bench barbell chest press @ 70#, cable chest squeezes @ 40#, lat pull-down squeezes @ 60 (front and back) Tuesday was biceps/triceps day...goood workout....hour and a half, always six sets of twelve reps...concentration curls @ 30#, hammer curls @ 30#, cable curls @ 40 Today was leg day...leg press I went five plates and low reps. So I pressed 450 pounds of weight plates plus the 60 of the machine....510#...pretty friggin awesome! Did them real slow to make sure I REALLY felt them. Did 8 reps for six sets this time. Then we went to the cable machine and did leg kickbacks...man you sure do feel those suckers working on your bootie and back of your thighs! OUCH! Then we did the induction and adduction machine TOO MUCH! I will be SORE in the morning, ladies and gents! Tomorrow is shoulder day, and Friday is back day...really looking forward to putting the HURT on those weights! Oh! And this Saturday is a training ride and KickOff party and BBQ for the MS150 that is coming up in May. It's being held at Texas Motor Speedway, and it sounds like it will be a blast as long as the weather cooperates. I am so looking forward to that 150 mile bike ride over two days in May! It is going to be so much fun!

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!! I'm SICK, SICK, SICK of trying to fix that gall-durned spreadsheet! Would y'all be heartbroken if I set it on fire and pretended I never started it? LOL I would love to be able to get back on here full time and keep up with everyone's postings! I think the spreadsheet is EVIL! LOL

Ah...that makes more sense than what you initially wrote! Thank you! Isn't it amazing how changing just ONE letter in that word made all the difference!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

C - Oh, yes, ma'am! I could definitely hear the squeal in your voice! LOL You are getting a chance at a whole new life...of COURSE you will squeal! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, folks...we've done this exercise before, but I would love for y'all to show me the cutest or most ridiculous or PC questionable bike jerseys we can find! I'm going to buy three of them for a couple of organized rides I have comming up. Dig out those old links, folks! Please?

WOODSY - Thank you for posting that link! That is the kind of info we need to see on here. If anyone has any other links (for any kind of band), that is what everyone needs to make educated decisions. Word of mouth just isn't enough. Each manufacturer will ultimately post results to favor their own product. Take all of those results and disseminate the info to (hopefully) come up with a clearer picture of what is right for yourself. Always, of course, along with your doctors advice.

    March Exercise Challenge

Okay, I finally get a moment to check in, and everyone moved away and didn't leave a forwarding address for me! BUT I FOUND YOU! LOL  I'm still around, just don't have much time at all to post. I got with GOOGLE and figured out what the problem is with the spreadsheet, so that will corrected in the next few days. Hubby is home, so I am spending most of my time with him while I can. Also, being a new moderator takes some time, too...so I just can't post as much. I will be back in full force when hubby goes back to work, though. I'm still working out every day as usual, except for last Friday, when hubby and I went golfing. Had a blast! I never thought I would like chasing that little white ball around! But I completely and thoroughly SUCK at it, so it is a real ego thing for me right now...I could have thrown my clubs in the Water countless times! LOL I WILL GET GOOD AT IT! :cursing: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I MISS Y'ALL! P.S. KAREY - Good luck girl! You will do great! Just because you aren't exercising doesn't mean you can't check in with us! We still want to hear from you! You'll be in my prayers for an excellent procedure and speedy recovery.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Good question! Some of the things I eat for breakfast are: eggs, cottage cheese with fruit, yogurt, protein bar, protein shake, bran cereal with skim milk, whole grain toast with peanut butter, fresh fruit. I wish I liked oatmeal, but I just can't stomach it...but it is wonderful for breakfast, nutritionally. However, carbs are perfectly fine in the morning, as long as you keep them complex. Just don't eat carbs after lunch, or they have a good chance of changing straight to fat.

BG - Well, your bike is simply awesome! Love the color! When I went shopping, it was a toss-up between the Specialized and a Trek. I love Trek's. I will be praying for ride-able weather for you soon! B - Just signed up for "Tour Dallas". It's a shortie, but it looks like it will be fun! Tour Dallas: Home

Here's my girl and my shoe/cleat setup. And hey! BG you are on MY SHOES, too! LOL I have the black pedals and B has the same ones in yellow. P.S. Since the correction of the spelling of our thread name went awry, I put it back to it's original effed up state. I thought that it was more fitting, don't you?

Oh yes! I have to work out...it is my oxygen! I'm getting in enough protein to hopefully stave off the muscle loss. I'm trying to get in enough calories with protein shakes, protein bars, shakes, yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce (for carbs). I'm having a hard time getting in enough fats, though, so my macro nutrients are a bit out of balance. I don't regret getting the fill at all...yet! The jury is still out, but I have faith that it will be fine after a bit. OH! And I was able to eat a couple of pieces of fajita chicken, too! Took forever, but I got it down!

WOW! That is AMAZING loss, INSUB! And I'm glad you took care of yourself yesterday and it all went well. Me? I think my tight fill is getting tighter, and I could barely eat yesterday, too. Forgot to take my vitamin...oops. Can barely get a bite of cottage cheese down comfortably about every 5 minutes or so today. I hope this eases up soon. I may be on protein shakes for a while.

BG - I'm curious about your shoes. They look like MTB's, but I'm not sure. Are they MTB's or hybrids? I love my road shoes, but jeez I feel like a dork when I walk in them! Even with my coffee shop caps! I've thought about going with MTB's for this reason.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Oh, INSUB! I'm so sorry you are having a hard time! I had a bad time this evening, myself. This fill is SO different from the others. You are smart to keep in touch with your doc and do what he says. I understand not wanting to pay to undo what you already paid for! I hope your band calms down for you soon. Take it easy on yourself this weekend!

Oh, and so far so good with my big fill. I definitely feel more restriction. Today is my last day of mushies. Though I must say that I havent really obeyed the mushies thing...just chewed my food into oblivion. So far I've had the Supreme Protein bars with no problem, chicken tortilla soup with big chunks of chicken/beans/rice, southwest chicken chili with LOTS of meat in it. I can't eat very much at all, which is good. The only real reason I wanted the fill was because of the sheer volume of food I was able to consume at one time. That seems to be corrected so far. So all my worries and waiting to get a fill were for nothing. Oh well, at least I have it now!

Walmart carries my peanut butter...seems it is always on the top shelf above eye level, in a short squatty plastic jar about 4" tall with a tan label and a yellow lid.

ELLISA - I would LOVE to toss you some of my motivation! I LOVE to get people going on exercise...which is why I am considering getting certified as a personal trainer. I'm so hooked! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As far as the thread topic, I love that it seems to be getting back on track in a positive manner! Positive thinking never guaranteed anyone sucess, but negative thinking will sure guarantee failure! Good luck everyone, and keep on losin'! I look forward to the future updates here.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Well, it's different. I prefer it, but I also tried two or three other natural peanut butter brands before this one. (The others were kind of "icky". LOL) This one tastes like you made it at home. I love Skippy, not so much with JIF...but they are so not good for you. (HFCS) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Speaking of HFCS...I was at Jason's Deli last night and was reading the table sign. They have eliminated all trans fats and MSG from their entire menu...nothing astounding there as most places have. But it said that next was to eliminate High Fructose Corn Syrup from their entire menu! What a challenge! Have y'all heard of any other places doing this yet?

    Smashbox Foundation Primer

Yes, I have. My mom gave it to me. I think she got it on HSN or QVC...she's addicted to those! I tend to go fairly "natural" most of the time, but when going out, I will use it and it really creates a flawless look.
  24. I'm just now coming across this thread, but what a great idea! Will remember for the future!

BigBaby - Yeah! So glad you liked it! Now you know a great way to get at least one big protein kick! LOL Regarding peanut butter, I use a brand called "Naturally More...What Peanut Butter Should Be". It is all natural, is fortified with flaxseed and flaxseed oil, contains Omega-3's and Omega-6's...and tastes fantastic!
