    Hello from Texas

No problem! Here's wishing you a fantastic procedure and speedy recovery! I can't wait to see that ticker going DOWN! :smile2:

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

HP - C made an excellent point about having your LBS adjust your pedals while you are on the trainer. I was at a training ride yesterday for the MS150 and watched a very seasoned rider fall TWICE, while not even rolling yet...just trying to get in and out of his Shimanos because he had just adjusted them. It was really kind of scary watching that and feeling helpless! I hope you can get the LBS to fix you up before you start with them on the road.

Hey, is anyone here on MySpace? Friend Requests were going on on another thread here, so I thought I would post this message to my main threads. Add me if you are on MySpace! Here's my link: MySpace.com - Robbie & Stef - 40 - Female - FORT WORTH, TEXAS - www.myspace.com/stefanie_stanphill (UGH! I really need to add new pics! Almost all are pre-surgery and I am so big!)

    Realize band

Yes, my doc tells all about the band being put in while empty and tha first fills occur 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. He explained all that in the seminar. It worked out great for me.

Wonderful! I'll go accept it now! If you get a prescription for it, the docs have coupons to give you to present at the pharmacy for the first month free. After that, insurance covers it, less your copay. There is no generic for it, so it is higher than normal, but I think still around $30, which isn't too bad. (I like my $5 generic price better, though! LOL)

It was my regular doc. He handles a lot of sports medicine, also...but is a family doc. He prescribed it before getting any bloodwork results back. I was a little surprised myself, but it is working great and apparently is being prescribed more and more for this purpose. I was really taken aback on giving myself injections, but wow is it ever a piece of cake.

Thanks, Jess! I have been feeling SO guilty about not having that "bleeping" spreadsheet figured out and updated. I am waving the white flag, though. I'd much rather be posting here, too. Well today is back day. Our favorite lat pulldown cable will get hit hard today! And more good news on tomorrows ride...the weather report has raised the projected temperatures over ten degrees for tomorrow! And if it is HALF as gorgeous as today, I'll love it! I can't belive that 24 hours ago it was snowing heavier than I've ever seen here in Texas! It didn't have a chance of sticking, though...the ground was too warm. Anyhow, the training ride and kickoff party should be fantastic tomorrow and turnout should be very good! WOO-HOO!

Suze, you could very well get Byetta, if you wanted. You don't have to be diabetic to take it. O2B, I'm not diabetic...my doc prescribed it strictly for the weight loss properties. It does sound like there are a lot of us hitting a plateau at the same time. Weird. My plateau was much longer than any of yours that I am aware of...five freaking months, with almost no weight loss to show for it. (At least simple scale numbers. Body fat loss vs. muscle gain...I wish I knew my exact numbers.)

I know a lot of folks like the gel covers...but I'm not one of them. I had a cover and despised it...didn't stay in place very well. I would get a new seat. And I agree that the smaller the seat, the more comfortable. Weird, I know. Mine is very similar to J's.

    Hello from Texas

I hear ya! Good luck with your surgery! It truly was a piece of cake for me and the center is just great. Can't wait to welcome you to the LOSING side!

O2B - Sorry to hear you've been sick. And to top it off, you can't eat! UGH! Hey...go for the Byetta! I was basically plateaued FOREVER, and started Byetta injections about two weeks ago and have lost a TON. I won't say how much because people will FREAK OUT because it sounds like too much. It even says on the paperwork included with the medicine that weight loss is NOT a reason to adjust the medication. There are two strengths...5mg and 10mg...I'm on the 5mg so far and LOVING IT!

C - I'm sorry you didn't get the "warm fuzzies" from your doc today. My sis had RNY, and did fantastic. Even after her success, I knew it wasn't for me. I wasn't a candidate, either. Glad to hear that you are determined, though! I know you will do well.

KAREY! So good to hear from you! I'm glad the surgery went well and that you are home recuperating. Baby yourself through this phase and I'm sure you will be feeling better before you know it. In the meantime, I hope you have good drugs! LOL Bless you, girl! I'm wishing and praying you a quick recovery!

ZZ - Congrats on your new bike! I'm sure you will love it...especially after you get her all shined up with new tires and such. I'm so happy for you! (And red is my favorite color!)

I am so addicted, too! I think there are a lot of us here who are addicted, so you have plenty of company! I'm glad you liked the peanut butter...mind thing or not...LOL. Fish oil is a wonderful thing, but it won't help your joints that I am aware of. Fish oil reduces inflamation in the body and is recommended to reduce triglycerides (cholesterol), keep you heart healthy and is good to take if you have high blood pressure. The person who told you about fish oil most likely just misspoke and meant to tell you about glucosamine chondroitin. As with everything else, there are good and not-so-good ones out there. I have a touch of arthritis in my left knee, so the one I take is called Flexamin. I felt it start to work in less than a week, which I thought was amazing.

You're welcome, J! FUBAR = Effed Up Beyond All Recognition! C - I'm SURE that is not the case with your doc! You will do great if you obey your band. Have faith and great optimism! It goes a long way!

I had Dr. Marsden in the Hurst surgery center. He did a fantastic job for me and I love his staff!

    Hello from Texas

Welcome, all you fellow Texans! (I'm in DFW, too!) Good luck with your bands...it is a wonderful tool! Come here often and get involved...you will learn so much and have a real "ear" for when you have questions, and there will be many!

I know...I am such a wuss when it comes to cold! LOL But I am going! I'll wear my tights, Under Armor shirts and hoodie, balaclava, gloves, toesties...and hopefully won't freeze! LOL I betcha turnout is not-so-good because of the temperature, though. I hope I'm wrong on that, but I don't think so.

Good job, guys! Everyone is doing very well! And ANGELNURSE! Wow! You are really back at it now! I'm surprised you can do so much this soon...you rock! Today is shoulder day for me at the gym...I love working shoulders, so I'm looking forward to that. I forgot to post my riding on here earlier: Sunday, Monday and Wednesday I got on the trainer and rode for about an hour each time. Saturday is a training ride and kick-off party for the MS150, so I hope to get in a good ride that day. The weather may be too cold, though...we'll see. I'm going regardless. I really miss getting outside on my bike as much as I would like here lately! This last fill is REALLY a kicker! Still so very tight. But I'm losing like crazy, so no complaints here.

There is a training ride and kick-off party this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for the MS150, and we are supposed to have a high in the upper 40's and low in the lower 30's that day! UGH! That is cold for us Texans in March! I'm still going, though. I'll dress warm and see what I can tolerate and then just hang out and socialize. Are you going, B? Good luck...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get that call!
