You are very welcome! Yeah, my DD was picking on me while I was whining and moaning about doing my first one. (Heartless wench, like her mama!) I must've had that syringe in my hand for 20 minutes and started to do it 100 times before I actually did it! I'm such a wuss. Any tips on getting podcasts onto my IPOD? Yeah, I'm definitely going to start C25K tonight, but you may be right...they might burn me out. Plus one of them is bringing their lab to run with us, so he is probably WAY more conditioned for it than I am. I don't know...I think I would rather do it alone. I'm too much of a loner, but what can I say? LOL It's not a blowup pool, goofy! It's in ground, but no deep end...called a play pool. My neighborhood has postage stamp sized yards...main reason we bought here...hate yardwork. So the pool is only about 40 feet long...maybe not even that. But you can come swim laps with me anytime...you perv, you!

Okay, I just got this off the American Diabetes Association website...I feel a little better, but I obviously have some work to do. Yes, Suzzzie...I am going after the research starting tonight. Like I said, I wasn't worried about it until today. And yesterday my grampa told me that I was relatively young for type 2, also. Statistically, I found out that is correct. I know a lot of folks get it younger than I, I'm just speaking in terms of percentages. I think I may make an appointment with a diabetologist to really get some good starting info.

Wow...I didn't know the ranges. That is disheartening, to put it mildly. Because mine was 8.0...I didn't really know what that meant until now. I wasn't really worried about this, but the more I learn, the more I am getting concerned.

JC - I was prescribed B12 injections last Friday, started them Saturday. I was really freaked out, too. I was already doing the Byetta, but that is a pen with a needle about 3/4" long. My B12 came with a prescription for syringes with a needle that is 3 or 4 times that length, I'm guessing. I've never even given blood because I get freaked out over this stuff! Once I finally sucked it up and did it, it was the same as the Byetta....I didn't even feel it! I felt silly. I do rotate the site...thigh to back of hip...four sites. My schedule is 1CC every day for two weeks, then twice a week for four weeks then just twice a month after that for maintenance. Byetta is twice a day, every day, forever...UGH. I learned how to do the injection from YouTube! It worked perfectly. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmAib0ld8r8]YouTube - How to give yourself a B12 shot[/ame] OH! And I don't know why it matters, but my nurse said to inject the needle with the bevel up. When you look at your syringe/needle, the tip is beveled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now maybe y'all can help me? I'm trying to figure out how to put podcasts on my ipod. I'm not techno challenged by any stretch, but I've just never done this and I can't figure it out! HELP!

I think you're right. My doc said that very thing...that I have likely had it for a long time without knowing. I'm not worried about it...I have every confidence that it will reverse or at least be only a minor hiccup to daily life...I am doing too many good things for my diabetes regarding diet and exercise and will only be doing more as time goes on. I'm glad to hear you are continuing the conversation with your doc, seeing it through to a solution that works for you. You have me worried with the wine, though. I hope you can find out what is going on with that. Keep us posted! Of sorts. He ordered labs and prescribed in the same breath. He prescribed Byetta without results, which is likely closer to the answer you are looking for. They ran a whole panel to determine my levels, A1C as O2BTHIN stated. I got the results from the doc on Friday and I definitely have Type 2 Diabetes. Lucky me. I was sure that was not the case, but no luck. So he doubled my dose of Byetta. My Estrogen was bottomed out, too...which means it was robbing all of my Testosterone to convert to Estrogen and it still wasn't enough. So I got a shot of Testadial, which is a combo of Estrogen and Testosterone and have to go in every two weeks to have the shots continued. He prescribed BetaCaroteen doubled morning and eveing. He prescribed B12 injections given myslef at home on a daily schedule for at least two weeks, four times a week for for weeks, then twice a week as permanent maintanance dose ongoing. Is your doc a family doc? An internist? You will have better luck with an internist that doesn't address families (kids) and only deals with adults. Oh so sorry, friend! We don't want to jinx you! Put your fingers in your ears (eyes? that won't work.) when we talk about it! LOL It sounds to me like you never got a difinitive answer or plan from your doc, either, regarding this subject. HMMM...what am I thinking right now? YOU KNOW! :tt1::wub::thumbup::wub::rant::mad5::mad3::crying::dupe::smile::tape2::boom::argue::hurt::bolt: Holli, Holli, Holli...that pic is phenomenal. But you can't throw one little hottie pic out there! We want MORE! You look AMAZING, girlfriend! And SO much younger! We want more pics, please! :tt2:

How funny! I was just reading up on wetsuits today! Go check out Slow Fat Triathlete for hilarious inspiration! Yes, that's right...Slow Fat Triathlete! She is funny...be sure to read the story about putting on her wetsuit for the first time! There's not a lot of "meat" to this website, but it does give pointers in different directions for tris and it gives you confidence that you can do your first tri. I'm going to check out her book, by the same name, at Barnes & Noble and figure out if I want to buy it. IT'S OFFICIAL! I start running tomorrow! The guy who lives next door (other side...not the pervert) and the guy on the other side of him...they are starting running tomorrow and invited me along. I said I would TRY to run, but no promises yet! I wish ANY of the girls (the wives) were going, but they won't. At any rate, I hope I find that I CAN run and I get hooked on that, too! LOL After that, I'll need to find a pool to train in, as my gym doesn't have one. My pool is a "play" pool and won't do at all. Happy Easter everybody! And OH! Went 24 miles on my bike today! (Can't wait to start hearing about your rides, Daddy!)

Oh no...sorry to be confusing! I never was one to really go to the doctor unless I had lost a limb or something! LOL So I have this new doc...LOVE HIM...and he ran every test known to man because I basically have NO medical history to speak of. I went yesterday for my follow up to my new patient consult...get the test results, etcetera. That's when I find out I have the best cholesterol panel he's ever seen, my cardio test is amazing, everything is phenomenal...and then there's this little glucose/insulin thing. Jeez. I was gestational diabetic with both my pregnancies, like you, Jess. But my kids are sixteen and nineteen! He said I've likely been diabetic for some time and didn't know it. We're hopeful that it will reverse itself with medication and weight loss, as you said, Karey. Thanks for the well wishes from you, too, Marlboro! <wink> Thanks to all...I'm really not that worried about it...I just thought the timing was a real kick in the pants. I have every confidence it will reverse. I AM DETERMINED! I miss you, too, Jess! And I'm glad you peeked in, Karey! Now we need Ceradad, and Suzzzie, and JM...and everyone! Hey, Daddy...I don't care what you ride, as long as you ride! (No inuendos, today! ) Bikes are awesome! But the MOST AWESOME THING IS YOU! Under 300! I have never heard of a bandster losing as much as you in the first year! You are tops! I'm so impressed!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I'm so sleepy, so why am I still here? Dunno. Got a new pair of bike shorts today. The guy at my LBS said keep the tags and return them if they don't perform well for me. I think they will be great, but I'll know for sure tomorrow after my ride. Hey, did y'all know all this gobble-dee-gook about how to care for your cycling gear? Wow. I knew most, but not all of it. This stuff is too expensive to not abide the rules, though! Anyhow, I thought I'd leave that part up for anyone who wasn't aware. Colors +ZOOM COLORS Black Description & Care Use simple detergents with no additives: Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave "surfactants" behind on a fabric's fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have "Clear" or "Free" in their names. Don't pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water. If something is not functionally working, but is not dirty, try rinsing it twice in warm to hot water. This will help get rid of the harmful surfactants. Read the care content label: On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. On garments this will be on a side seam or back seam label. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a "Gentle" cycle. Close all zippers, attach "hook and loop" closures on gloves You can use the dryer, carefully: If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a "Hot" setting). This will often restore the fabric and help the water and wind repellent qualities. If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry. W's P.R.O. "haha" my ASS! Coach is no laughing matter, my dear! It is my FIRST AND FOREMOST addiction! Which one do you want? My last one was the legacy frame purse and matching wallet in chocolate signature fabric! Wow, hubby picked that one and I accepted before he looked at the price tag! OUCH! But he did it anyhow! Gotta love him, he's so good to me! And in Vegas last November when he hit those two slots in a row, he took me straight to Ceasar's Palace Coach and got me a purse, swingbag (in that pic of me golfing out there), wallet, and IPOD case all matching! I LOVE COACH! OMG...I can't even get a white Christmas! I'm so sorry the snow gods are keeping you from riding BIG SEXY! YIPPEE! I hope this helps you BUNCHES, JC! I've been worrying about ya! Yeah, serious withdrawls here! :cheers2: The first time was maintenance. Today was a real issue, to my understanding. One of the other mods emailed Alex and he got it back up. Hopefully everything is back on track now.

OMG...I'm sucking at posting! I just looked back and I haven't posted since the 17th...Monday! That's horrible! That's the bad side of hubby being home for a few weeks. But the ONLY bad side! LOL He left to go back offshore yesterday. But I'll have a little more time to post. Okay... Tuesday was legs for two full hours. Wednesday was shoulders for 45 minutes. My workout partner royally pissed me off and I walked out after cussing him out. I still can't believe we got into a fight. Thursday was biceps and triceps for an hour. Hey, it doesn't take as long when I work out by myself! LOL Today, Friday, was back for an hour. Same reason. I don't like working out by myself...too many people try to start conversations with me when I'm alone. My workout partner is a big scary-lookin' dude and no one bothers us! LOL Sorry, CERADAD! I won't make you "carry" the thread all alone! I miss everybody else, too! Where'd you guys go? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DADDY - Too funny about the cruiser comment! We are total opposites there! You're not a cruiser type, and I'm not a "crotch rocket" type! Reminds me of a movie...ever see the movie "Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man" with Don Johnson and Mickey Rourke? If not, you should! I even have a pair of roper boots that my mom got me in 1984 that I have had re-soled I don't know how many times because I love them! I wore them today, as a matter of fact! (That relates to the movie of sorts, so now you have to see it if you haven't!) So now you have two nicknames...1)Daddy and 2)Marlboro Man! (I'm Harley, ya know! :cheers2:)

Okay, catching up with everyone, so here goes a long one! :cheers2: Yes, I get heartburn on occasion, too. HOWEVER, when my fill was too tight, it was excruciating. I was so glad to get my unfill! Good luck on quitting the sweets, too...that's great that y'all are all doing it together! P.S. Your ass is not too big for a bike, girlie! Get on it! LOL Hooray for four days with no ice cream, Suzzzie! That is awesome! Yes, smack that bitch down for teasing your with Cold Stone! LOL Birthday party there? Ummm...NO. How'd the gym go? Dissapointed that you lost six pounds? Are you crazy, girl? That is six pounds that I pray you never see again! And YOU got rid of them...so pat yourself on the back and get "back on the stick" again tomorrow with this new fill! And size 14? That is GREAT! As far as seeing only fat in the mirror, I wish I knew the answer to that...you have to love yourself and no one can give that to you...but WE love you! OMG, the PB ones?!?!? I'd all but given up on them ever reaching anywhere for me to try the PB ones! Where did you get them from? GNC is supposed to get them before anyone, and they don't have them yet! ARGH! Okay, how the hell did I miss that you started C25K? Or did I just forget? (Prolly! LOL) If you don't mind, would you PM me details of how it is going for you? You and I are running about neck and neck it seems and I just put that off and put that off. It could be that I am freaking addicted to cycling, too! I really, really, really want to do a triathalon this fall, but I have GOT to get running! I am finding, also, that since my unfill I will get an excruciating headache if I don't eat enough. With me, if I eat a piece of turkey jerky, it usually disappears quickly, so mine must be a protein thing. And the turkey jerkey is so tender that I haven't had issues with it going down at all as of yet. That may have been timing, though, because I've found that since my unfill, my band is completely fickle...sometimes I can eat anything if I take it slow, and many times yogurt may barely trickle through. Only the good Lord knows why! I hope you get your insulin under control, Missy. I'm kind of freaked out today on my side. I went back to my doc for a four-week follow up and I DO have diabetes. I was in shock. But he also said that my levels are not bad and getting the rest of my weight off would likely correct it. Then he put me on the 10MCG Byetta instead of the 5MCG. Word to the wise if you are prescribed Byetta...keep it in the fridge always...not just the one night before you start it like the insert says. It loses potency as the month goes by if you keep it at room temperature. Found that out the hard way this last two weeks! I'm glad to hear the fill is doing well for you, Dan! And let us know how the girl thing goes...we're rooting for you! And "AMEN" on the ice cream comment! I have to eat it till it's gone, too! My last bit of Buttered Pecan went tonight and I'm not buying any more! Absolutely! And hopefully Karla will post where she got the peanut butter ones ordered from! You can order the Caramel Nut Chocolate ones from many places, but the best price I usually find on just about anything is here: Bodybuilding.com - Supreme Protein Product Listing - On Sale! Lowest Prices For Supreme Protein! If anyone knows a cheaper place, please let us know! (Make sure y'all are ordering the "Carb Conscious" version or they WILL make you gain weight!)

Yes, BG...we missed you! And that's not ALL I missed! Not only didn't I notice when J dropped into ONE-derland (shame on me!)...but I didn't even realize that my BMI turned blue and went "normal"! JEEZ LOUISE! My heart leapt when I read that and I had to scroll back to my last post just to see it! What a dork I am, huh? LOL Congrats, J! That is so amazing! You have come so freaking far! What I DO notice about your signature every time is your total weight lost...it is amazing to me every time I see it!

INSUB - I getcha about not wanting that unfill. I waited three weeks before getting mine. Got a nice surprise there...no charge for unfills! She left 60% of the fill and it's been pretty good. I'm happy with it and losing well. My NP was a little upset that I waited three weeks, though, because I lost too much during that time. (According to her it was too much...no me! LOL) BIGBABY - Good luck with your fill today! You're probably just tight from thinking about it. That's my latest theory, and so far it's holding true...stress wrenches the band tighter for me. Thank goodness I don't stress over too much. CAPTAIN DANBO - Happy to hear you got your fill. You should be right back on track now. I know it was a badge of honor to have basically lost all that weight via your discipline, but there's nothing wrong with using the band to it's potential! You're still our June 2007 Poster Child! LOL

Okay, bought a new pair of cycling shorts last week from Performance Bike. (I needed a smaller pair....hooray!) I rode both days last weekend, and I am more sore than I have ever been! EVER! So I examined the chamois...the ones I was wearing before have a solid chamois with stitching only around the perimeter, and it wasn't gender-specific. The new pair has a gender-specific "Y" chamois with stitching around the perimeter and two seams along where it would fold where your leg meets your body. THESE SUCK! Can any of y'all make a recommendation? I am just not knowledgeable about these yet. P.S. Bought Bicycle Magazine today and it is the 2008 Buyer's Guide for bikes and gear, so maybe I'll get a clue there. I'd prefer y'alls input, though. It's always better to get first-hand testimonials.

No, no, no! No smoking! (I know you are kidding, though.) I quit last November after smoking for 25 years...and I am SO glad I did! (Yes, I was "oh-so-cool" at 15 years of age and smoking. Jeez, what a dummy, huh?) I think ice cream has played a much larger role since this last fill than any other time in my life. It was so incredibly tight, and yes ice cream goes down when nothing else will. Now I've had a slight unfill and it's much better, but I still have issues with it locking down when I'm stressed or overtired. Maybe a coincidence? I'm trying to get a fix on that. At any rate, the ice cream is still too close a friend!

Oh, Suzzzie...I'm so proud of you for those two days! Me, I've been so tight, and for the last couple days I've been eating ice cream after I got stuck on the good food. So horrible of me...so I understand how awesome that is that you have abstained for two days!
