I just read your thread about your long journey and I wanted to wish you luck and say that I would love to be here as encouragement to keep you going. I have not been banded yet, I am also in the process, but I have been approved by my insurance, so I know it will be in the next month. We all need each other to lean on and reassure us that we are on the right track. I believe it's a journey worth taking and sometimes you have to do something good for yourself! Take care and message me anytime!

Hi, I am a to be banded in Florida. Original surgery date was 1/26, but my EKG last week was abnormal and now I have appointments next week with cardiologist. I am disappointed because I was READY to get started on this life changing journey. Keep in touch, LB

:wink:I have a year long journey ahead of me before i can get approved for surgery...I have Capital Health Plan insurance they require a 12 months and a lot of goals met before they will approve anyone...if anyone else has had to do this let me know about your story, as it may help me with my journey......I need friends and a lot of support to do this.... It seems like it's going to take forever to get this lap band surgery, First I have to go through a 12 month program..anyone else have to do something like this before weight loss surgery....my insurance company is Capital Health Plan (CHP)....I have a seminar on Jan. 20th to get this started....Doctor Jefferey Crooms of Tallahassee Florida will be doing the surgery .....anyone know anything about DR. Crooms. -

Hello,my name is Shannon Neel, I am married with 4 children,for most of my adult life I have been obese, and it wasn't until a few months ago, when my wife had bariatric surgery, that I had even considered my own health and the issues that I have due to my being overweight. My wife looks great and feels better (healthwise) and she has been worrying about me lately because I have high blood pressure,bad knees and also am diabetic, not to mention high cholesterol,shortness of breath and back problems...soooo she said,"Why don't you consider the lap-band if you don't want to go as invasive as I did?"...So I gave it some thought and out of sheer morbid curiosity, I have been looking into it and am having my insurance company send me all the literature for the steps I would need to take to get approved. I would like to lose at least 80 to 100lbs...I want to be active again...and participate in activities with my family as well as maybe eliminating SOME if not ALL the costly medications that I must take daily.I love my family and want to be around a long time for them.So wish me luck...this is the beginning of a long journey for me....
