    Any December '08 Bandsters?

Stephanka917, the anesthesia was the easiest part. I had an IV in my hand pumping fluids during the hour before surgery. When the doctor came in, he struck up a great conversation while messing around with the bag and the next thing I know I was told the surgery went great and I was in recovery. It took a good 1/2 hour to wake up. Good luck with your surgery. Do not worry. You'll be comforted all the way.

I had my surgery on Dec. 8th and am looking forward to the mushy food. I planned on keeping it low-carb. I love cottage cheese, which I hear is the world's perfect Protein, and I know there is a recipe which makes mashed cauliflower taste like mashed potatoes. When I find it, I'll share. How do you make those ticker things?

    5 days post op

Hi Punkin61, I was banded on the same day in San Diego. I've had more pain than expected but it's manageable with the pain medication. Like you, the port area is the most sensitive and slowest to heal. Everyday is huge progress in how I'm able to move around (made the bed today and shopped) and how much weight is already coming off. I'm sure I'm not taking in the necessary calories. I'll have some sugar free Jello, Protein Water, and maybe a little broth. My stomach sounds like it's fighting a war and I supposed it is. I find this site to be extremely helpful and interesting. I can't tear myself away. Happy Shrinking!
