I live in Texas and Have Aetna, They only paid 50 % and will pay for fills after copay. It took me 18 months to get it, but during that time my policy changed and covered bariactric at 50 %.

Yes I got them they, will go away. Mine would come and go especialy when I would turn or bend over to fast. Fosterc

I'm Sorry to hear that BC BS of texas didn't pay for ya'lls. my husband has it and he qualified with no problems. it only took a few months. my on the other hand took over 12 months, I have Aetna. they seem to be very picky. Keep trying and good luck. Fosterc

Hi just read you post. i was banded Feb 15, 2006 and am 39 years old. to date I have lost 30lbs and have had one fill. My pcp doctor told me that even if I only lose 30 to 50 lbs from the whole thing that is better than not losesing any at all. Everyone is different, my husband had his Dec 21, 2005. He was 314 and know is at 260. He has had one fill and is still loseing and does not plan to get another fil anytime soon. I reseached Lap band and Gastric bypass for 18 months before we decided. I know it is slow and I get depressed whrn the scales don't move but I will tell you like I tell everyone I meet. Go for it it is the best thing I could have done. remember it didn't take us sover night to put on the weight and it isn't coming off over night. Yoou will have to work at it but we both know it will be worth it. I know how you fill I have read the things people have posted. It is sometimes scary. Just have faith in yourself and your Doctor and you will be fine. Fosterc

I live in Texarkana and we have a support group that meets once a month. the second Monday of each month at Wadly hospital.

I had mine Feb 15 and still have spasms. My doc said it could last for several months. mine hurst when I bend and that side. I have only lost 30 lbs and still waiting for the rest to go. Fosterc.

Hey Did anyone get a fill and then yo-yo up and down. I got banded Feb 15, 2006. Started at 274, got fill 6weeks later, know i am at 246 and can not seem to lose anymore it just goes up 2lbs and down 2 lbs. I don't get another fill until May 15 and thats not soon enough. My husband got his band Dec 21, 2005 and has had only one fill and is still losing. He was 314 and now 260. It just isn't fair!!
