ibelieve- thank you for your information :tt2: I've called my surgeon yesterday and he asked me about the dosage and how long I have to be on it. Here is my dosage: Day 1&2 - 40 mg Day 3&4 - 30 mg Day 5&6 - 20 mg Day 7&8 - 10 mg Day 9&10 - 5 mg I should finished my med on April 17th and my surgery is on April 21st. The surgeon said it is ok. I hope he is right because I do not want any complication. I don't mind postponing it at all since I already got postpone once. I started this journey since June of 2008 and finally is going to get it at April 21st so yes I don't mind if he reschedule at all I just wanna be healthy for the surgery. Here is my dilemma: My surgery date has been postpone due to my sinus infection. It is supposed to be today but the doctor moved it to April 21st. I have 3 little boys at home ages 4, 3 and 15 months. I had rearranged for my sister and my mom to help out with the kids for 2 weeks. Since the doctor moved my date, now only my mom can help out since my sister has to work. My question is I am afraid my mother cannot handle all 3 boys at the same time, so I want to know is after a week can I hold my 15 month old (he is very attached to me and will not let his daddy hold him much). I have no other family around since all of mine and my husband are 10,000 miles away. Any advice would be great. Thanks,

Thank you for letting me know your experience. I am going to try to plan it out and see what is best. May be, I'll keep my first 2 and let my husband take a few days off and let my mom watch my little one for me. Knowing her, she is probably going to takecare all of them. mzmouse - my doctor did not even mentioned about the weight limit. thanks for letting me know. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again

I just got rescheduled due to sinus too. My date moved from April 7th to April 21st. I hope it clears up since this is the 5th week that I have it. I hope you get rid off your flu in time.

My doctor called off my surgery (April 7th) and moved it to April 21st due to my sinus infection. I have to be on liquid diet again for another 2 weeks :-) I hope my sinus clear up so I can get my band.

Here is mine: Day 1&2 – liquids only (including Protein Shakes) Day 3 – soft food in ½ cup meals (till when I don’t know. I have to ask the dietician again) I read somewhere that you should wait before adding protein to your diet. Someone said liquid for 2 weeks (no protein shakes), then try mushy food. What is your post op guideline if you don’t mind sharing with me? Thank you,

Good luck to all bunny bandster today. You guys will be in our prayers and thoughts. My surgery is in a week; however, I am suffering from this sinus thing that has been going on for almost a month now. I just got my second round of antibiotic and hopefully it will be clear up by this coming Monday, if not, the doctor will call off my surgery.

I am not sure what kind of band but he said it is new, so I am guessing it is a Realize Band? I am going to email him and see what kind of band it is though. Thank you,

I feel the same way. I only told my husband, my mom, my sisters, 1 of my best friend at work and my lapbandtalk.com friends :thumbup:. Everyone is excited for me and I only need supports from them. If I told others at work, they will criticize and comments and I do not need that. I going to be banded on April 7th. :eek: Good luck to everyone who is in the process of getting approval from the insuance, pre op stage and post op stage.

Can I join the Bunny Bandsters Team? My surgery date is April 7th. I have to do the liquid diet started March 24th. I am not doing to well on it though but I am trying my best.

I am on pre op day 4. The first two days I did great; however, yesterday, I almost passed out. I think it is because my cycle is going to start (it did last night, sorry TMI) and plus only Protein shake and a lean cuisine for dinner. I did ate some almonds and added more veggie (lettuce) to my food. I feel a little better after that. Today, I feel ok but my stomuch os growling all day long. I am going to call my doctor and see if I can drink gaterade due to potassium loos while having cycle. I hope what I did yesterday did not prevent me from having a band.

Hi, I have a date for my surgery; it will be on April 7th. I am starting my diet this Monday. The closer the surgery date gets, the more nervous I am. I was so scared that something is going to happen and I’ll die. I had a bad dream last night too, I dreamt that the surgery went well but I developed blood clots after that and was in a hurry to get to the hospital, so the doctor can save me. I did not know the outcome because I woke up first but my heart was racing so fast and it was so real. I told my husband about it and he said if you are scare that much then why doing it. Does anyone else scare or have bad dream like this? Alisa

The first 2 weeks to to replace 2 meals with Low Carb Slim Fast or Atkins or Muscle Milk (no more than 200 cal) Replace one meal with Lean Cuisine, South Beach and Etc (less than 300 cal, no more than 20 grams of Protein and no more that 15 grams of carb) Drink at least 64 oz of Water. You can have unlimited diet drink( no soda), sugar free Jello, sugar free popsicle and such A week before surgery, drink 4 Protein shakes a day. Drink at least 64 oz of water. Tomorrow will be my first day for pre op liquid diet. My surgery is on April 7th. :scared2: I am writing this because I want to do it right and be healthy like you guys. If you have any tips for newbie, please do share. For example, how many calories you guys eat during the day, do you follow any diet plan like WW, daily menus, activities, what to do or what not to do and etc. If this question has been asked before, please let me know where I can find it. I am on day one and so far I am kind of having a headache. I just take it one day at a time. It is hard but I heard after the 4th day it should get easier. The headache part, does it cause from withdrawal from sugar? BTW, Ideere2005, what Protein Drink that your doctor put you on? I am on Law Carb Slim Fast twice a day plus 1 lean cuisin. A week before surgery though is 4 shakes a day and a day before is only pure liquid. My band date is one day before you :-) Good luck, Alisa

I guess, I am worried because I have 3 little boys (ages, 4, 3 and 1) that need me at home. BTW, I know one person that die after lap band due to blood clots, so yes, it does HAPPEN. She had problem walking after surgery and that was the trigger for blood clots. Thanks for reassure me that it will be ok. Alisa

Cigna approved my lap band surgery Hip Hip Hooray! I am going to meet Dr. Spaw at Baptist Hospital on February 26. I cannot wait :smile: By the way, I have to be on liquid Protein diet + one lean cuisine meal for 2 weeks then 4 liquids diet (no solid) for the week before surgery. Any advice on which Protein Drink will not make you hungry that much? What I need to prepare before I see the surgeon and the dietitian? Any recommendations is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Alisa
