My 1st fill is today. I can't wait since I have been hungry everyday. I have not lost any weight in 3 weeks (very sad), so hopefully, the fill will help me out some. What do you guys normally eat in a day? Thanks, Alisa

Actually, I am suppose to be in mushy phase but since I still have a hard time with the tightness of the band (which is a lot better now), I still need to wait awhile. I don't know what to eat for full liquid. How much do you eat per meal? How can I get all the Water in per day? I am trying but so far I've never drink 64 oz. Any tips is appreciated. Thanks,

My first week after banding I did not do much coz I was in the hospital. When I came home I took it easy because I am still tired from what I had. Today I started walking again, not fast but at least I am trying. I have already walked twice today and will do it again at lunch time. Keep up the good work guys!

I know how you feel. I felt the same and to top that I had pneumonia and was hospitalized for 5 days. I cried every night thinking what have I done to myself. It felt so bad and my chest is so tight. I found out last Friday that the doctor put 2 cc of saline in my pouch and that is why I feel very tight. To give you some hope, today is 13 days out for me and I feel much better. I am still on full liquid diet eventhough my doctor told me I can try mushy. Hang in there honey, this too shall pass. Hugs...

I was banned on 4/21 and was in the hospital again due to pneumonia on 4/22. I have this stabbing pain on my left side kind of like when you drink a bunch of Water and then go and run and then you have a stabbing pain. The pain is not under my incision, it is closed to my waist. I cannot sleep on the left side at all. What could it be? Another thing, I still have this tightness in my chest and the nurse told me it takes time to heal. Every time, I moved from from sleeping on the right side to my back, the tightness will begin and would go away in about 5 mins. I am still on liquid even if my surgeon said I can start on soft food. How can I eat soft food when liquid is hurting me? I am so ready for the pain and the tightness to go away. Any advice is appreciated.

Just got back from the doctor. I saw the doctor on call today and he is really nice. He checked me and asked me to do something like sit up, turn on my side, lay down and etc. the doctor said he thinks it my muscle because the equipment (tricor or something) is pretty big and it went straight through my muscle. I asked him how come my right side is ok, he said if you look the incision on the right in very low compared to the left. He prescribed me more pain medicine (loritab liquid form). He said my muscle is injured and needs time to heal. For the tightness in my chest, well I found out the my doctor put 2 cc of saline in it. I did not know that but my husband recalled that the doctor said something about saline :thumbup: At this point I wish I had no saline at all but the doctor said it should feel better ina week or two and he wants me to stay on liquid diet till then. I am glad that nothing else is wrong with me. Hope from now on everything will go smoothly.

I can lay flat but it will be tight the first 5 mins. I just called the surgeon and he wants to see me at noon today. I'll let you know what he said. Hopefully, my pneumonia has cleared up.

I've got admitted yesterday due to high fever (103.8 F), diarrhea, back pain , my whole body was aching and every time I take deep breath, my chest hurt. First I thought I have blood clots; however, after x-ray and cat scan, I found out that I have pneumonia. If you don't mind, could you please keep me in your thoughts?

After 5 long days in the hospital for pneumonia, I am finally strong enough to come home. I still have to take antibiotic, percaset (sp??) and pepcid though. I am glad to be home so I can rest. I cannot rest at the hospital at all because between blood draw every 6 hours, iv changing, anti biotic changing, pain medicine every 4 hours and check my temp, blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing treatment, there was no way I can sleep. I am so glad that I am home now so I can start to heal. About liquid food, at the hospital I could not eat the first couple of days. The rest I can sip some broth here and their. Since I am home, I am going to fix my own broth; however, how do you know if you get enough liquid? Also. everytime I take my med (break it up in half), I still feel that it stuck and won't go down, and it hurt so bad. Will this feeling ever going to go away? Last, I am really appreciate you guys praying for my recovery and only you know what I am feeling right now. I have been crying everyday at the hospital because nobody understand what I was feeling until my last night when the nurse came in and told me she had lap band done 2 years ago and what I am feeling is normal. I have never felt that good before. I know God sent her to me so I won't have to be scared anymore. Thanks again for all the prayers.

I just had my band on 4/21; however, I developped Pnuemonia the day after and I am still in the hospital for this. My problem right now is in between my chest (above) my port, I fell flutter like when youy baby kicked you from inside the first time or bubble felling (for guy :-), feel like indigestion and all in all don't feel too good at all. I am so scared that something bad is happening. The doctor will come and see me this evening but I cannot wait. Please if you have experience this, let me know. I am so scared.

Right now when I swollow it 's kind of feel stuck. Is this still gas/healing process? Thanks,

Thank you so much. I've already talked to my nurse and she is going to ask the on call doctor about ga med. Thanks again, you guys made me feel so much better.

Thank you everyone for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. Right now as long as I have my med (morphine), I am ok. They are giving me a breathing treatment (nebulizer) 4 times a day. For Anti-biotic, they give me every 12 hours. They are also doing the stool culture to see if I have stomach flue or not. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again for thinking about me.

Kelly, I am so sorry to hear about the blood clots. How do you feel now? what is your symptoms ?Can I ask how did the doctor found out ? I am asking because I am in the hospital due to pneumonia. First I thought it is blood clots too but the cat scan showed that I have pneumonia. For your cycle, I think your body need time to adjust after surgery. Give it sometime I think everything will go to normal.

I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 and the surgery will begin at 9:30. The nurse prep me (she put the stocking compression and put something on my calf looked like blood pressure cup) and gave me pepcid, anti nausea med and a heparin shot ( kind of sting). The nurse also put a small patch behind my ear for anti nausea too and it last up to 3 days. Finally after waiting for 6 hours,they wheeled me to the OR around 1:30. I've learned later the the reason why I have to wait so long is because the patient ahead of me has some complication (gastric bypass). While they wheel me to the operating room they give me med to calm me down. I did not even reach the or yet, I've already conked out. Then I woke up in the recovery room. All I heard was Alisa breath breath. I guess I was so relax that I was in the deep sleep. After everything ok , they wheel me to x-ray room and let me drink chalky stuff and x-ray my tummy. They wheel me back after that and my husband came to be with me. I have to be able to pee first before they let me leave. Today is my 1st day post op. I feel some pain in my shoulder due to gas; however,it was not bad at all. Heating pad make the pain better too. I do have pain in my tummy; hopefully is from gas pain too. I also have been taking Gas X, whic is a God send. I have totaled 5 incisions and they used dermabond with me since I allergic to surgical tape. Here are some pictures the day of surgery. Congrats thinwithin. I had it done yesterday too. I feel the same about sore tummy. I did post my incision pics in my post. Please keep us posted and hope the pain subside soon.

I just got back home about an hour ago. Everything went well today except that I have to wait 6 hours before they wheeled me in. They are 2 cases before me and I think one has complication (Bypass) which pushed the surgery time back. Right now I have soreness especially at the port site but I am fine. I have gas pain in my tummy (when breathing in, it is kind of hurt). I took gas x and is using a heating pad. I am still kind of drowsy, which is expected. All in all, I am good. My surgery got rescheduled from April 7th to April 21st due to sinus infection. I am still dealing with it eventhough I am taking antibiotic, prednisone, singulair, Zyrtec and nose spray (I think it is called nasalcort). The closer the date it gets the more nervous I am. I am excited to start my new life but also scared eventhough I have had 3 c-sections but this time it is an elective surgery. Do you guys feels like that? Thanks,

My surgery is tomorrow (April 21st) (Yippee!) I am so nervous and scared but I don't wanna be fat anymore, so I cannot wait for my new life. BTW, what is Isopure? Good luck to everyone getting band this week.

Thinwithin & chelle06- we can be band buddies whoo whoo (if they don't reschedule me again) chelle06 & Pharmagirl - That is exactly how I feel too. I have many surgeries before but it the stuff that had to be done. I am still nervous and thinking about it everyday. I just hope and pray that everything will go smoothly for me and for everyone. I think we need to stick together and courage each other. I'll be checking on you and see how it went. BTW, which state are you guys in? I am from TN and Dr. Spaw is my surgeon. You don't have to wait for them to call you back. I will call Cigna tomorrow. I got approved by Cigna too and it took them 2 days to approve it. Good luck,
