So little by little I am feeling better. Ready to go back to work. Also ready to eat mushy food. I have my post op appointment on tuesday. The most amazing thing was putting on a n outfit that was tight a few weeks ago and the pants are falling off(and I have only lost 22 pounds and have not had a fill yet). It was also cool to fit into a shirt that I have not worn for years(from the pile of clothes that you say you will save because you plan on getting back into them). I will be glad when I can exercise, does anyone know how long it is before you can start working out?

So I was banded on 1/29. SO far I am feeling great, much better than I anticipated. I am tolerating most of the foods on my list. I seriously need to find something to fill my time because being off of work is going to drive me crazy. I really have not thought much about food and I am not hungry. So far so good. It is a bit hard to explain to friends and family why you are not eating things they think you should eat but otherwise its ok. I am excited about the weight loss, which I got a lettle taste of from my pre-op diet. According to my surgeon everything went exceptionally well. Ofcourse I do have thoughts about the fill process but I am trying not to let my imagination run wild and just take things as they come.

I was so paranoid about not getting sick before my surgery, it seemed like everyone around me was sick. I am excited for you. The immediate changes in my blood sugar and meds have been so worth

So I have not been hungry at all, actually its the opposite I really do not have an appetite, which is a problem getting all the protein down. Thank God for ISOPURE. Lots of gas, which sucks but haven't had to take a pain pill at all today.

Hello, I am 32 and single with no children. I just received my approval and am awaiting the call from my surgeon for my surgery date. I am excited, but admit that it has been an adjustment. Many people that I have told are supportive, however I have encountered many that are not, including some of the medical professionals I see. All in all I am hyped about my fresh start. Looking forward to chatting with you. -
I thought about that once I titled the thread.

So I thought that this would be a good way to gain information and support. I am in the waiting period, more so( I am presuming) for the psychologist to submit his report and then for the surgeon to send everything to the insurance company for approval. The waiting period is proving to be harder than I thought. I am working with a great bariatric center which helps. Am a bit nervous about insurance approval, after reading so many posts. Has anyone had any experience with bc/bs of wny? Also was wondering what the typical hospital stay has been for people?

Hi Jen,
Im in Buffalo too. Have not had my surgery. In the waiting process. How did your surgery go and are you pleased with it?
-
I just began the process, so I thought this would be a good way to track my journey. I had my psychologist appointment today and it went exceptionally well. Now I have to wait for the report to be submitted and all the paperwork to go to the insurance company. The surgeon feels that I should be able to have the surgery by late Feb.. I am truly hoping this is true. I think it would be a great way to start the new year.
