  1. Happy 47th Birthday tktilly27!

  2. Hi tktilly! Im also from Houston. How r ya?

  3. Hello TK'

Am sorry but your boyfriedns sounds just like my "insecure" hubbie. At least you can thank God he's only a boyfriend. He sounds a lot like my husband when I actually started to make tanglible arrangements for the band. He asked why did I really need the band and I could loss the weight on my own if I really wanted to.

Maybe your BF is starting to be a little insecure with the fact of you becoming more at peace with the new body you will have.

I would not allow anything or any body to make you feel bad about making good choices for your health and happiness!

Stay focused and positve on your weight loss goals. Remember you can do all things with GOD in your corner!

  4. I saw that you were also from Houston, TX, and thought that I would send you a Hello!!

    299.5~My Journey

LastOption, Glad to see that you are totally focused. I understand what you mean when you said, I feel kind like I am going thru the motions regarding surgery its weird I am not nervous or scared or happy or sad I am just going thru the motions. Did any of you ever feel that way? I didn't feel nervous or scared until the day of my surgery, when I was walking to my room:scared2: :cursing:. My boyfriend held my hand, and we prayed, and then I felt better:thumbup:. On the second night after my surgery, I woke up in the middle of the night in so much pain that I woke up crying . That was the only bad day that I really had. I have lost now a total of 18 lbs and have had 1 fill 3cc's. This has been a discovery of me, people around me and and life in general. I wish you ALL THE BEST in your journey. Take your time in the healing process .
  6. Hey China,

See that you are in Texas also!! I just got Banded (Realize Band) 12/08/08. I have been using this site for info and support. It's really good to see that people are going through the same as me and to see the transformation of so many. It is very inspirational!! Who was your doctor? My Doctor was Dexter Turquest in Houston, TX.

  7. I REMEMBER that feeling!!! I think that I started feeling hungry around the 4th or 5th day. Just try to do something else to get your mind off of it. I love to read so i would pick up a book and that help some. It's hard sometimes because we got our stomach banded not our hunger!! I will admit that I would stick my finger in some smooth peanut butter and lick it off. It wasn't much but it did help. I'm not suggesting to do it at all, just admitting what I did. I don't think that I want to eat sf jello, broth, or sf popscicles for a while!! : )

The clear liquids will pass soon, and the soft foods (mushies) will start soon. I was so nervous when I started soft foods. I thought that it may hurt my stomach.

Do you have any gas? Thank God that I do't have as much as I had in the beginning. I have already lost 15 lbs, so just that little progress helps me stay focused.

Take care, and remember that right now is all about the "healing" process, the weight will come off!!!

  8. I will most definitely keep you in touch with you. I will add you to my friends!!!
  9. Okay Teri checking on you to see how you are doing? I understand the statement of.."I sure feel fat! LOL"!!!

I have found out that walking and GAS-X are both going to be close friends of mine. I am feeling much better, everyday gets better, and you discover new things about being "banded" everyday.

Hit me back with your progress.

    Tanja

  10. I too was recently Banded, 12/08/08, and had pain there too. My was gas and I took Gas-X strips which are a "God sent". Walking helps also with the gas pains. Check with your doctor and good luck. I still have gas EVERYDAY now:cursing:. I guess that burping and belching are going to be a part of the NEW me!!
  11. Sorry for the "overload" in my orginal posting:ohmy:. But I was really serious, and also venting:cursing:. I realize that some people around me are not going to be supportive through is journey of mine. Also, in hindsight I should have known what his reaction was going to be. I really appreicate your comments. Are you getting Banded in January? If so, good luck!! Everyday I learn a little more about the life of being BANDED. Have a BLESSED DAY!!!

    I have a testimony/NSV

I too am looking for the day that I can wear tall boot!! It's so funny that people that have never had to deal with this issue don't understand the thrill is it to be able to wear tall boots. Girl You Better Wear Them Boot!!!
  13. I just got Band (Realize Band), 12/08/08. My boyfriend was very supportive the 1st 6 days. When I start to eat soft foods he had the nerve to ask me if I wanted some ice cream. WTF!!! Granted we use to buy Walmart's Butter Peacan Ice cream, but he not only bought 1 box, but he bought 2 BOXES!!! He even bought 2 packages of Cookies, and we haven't had cookies in the house for the last month and 1/2. He was telling me that he didn't think that I should get the surgery at all. He asked me why and WHO I was getting it for. CRAZY!!! He even "joked" that he may have it get a tracking device to put on my car. Yes he does have issues!!! Has anyone else had issues with their men? Also we have been dating for over 9 years. He wants to get married but I'm not quite sure, no I know, that he doesn't have the Player out of him. T
  14. Also I got the Realize Band. Dr Dexter Turnquest did my surgery. I see that you are like me, a low BMI. Mine is 36.7, 5'3' and 213 on day of surgery. Have you had people ask you, "Why are getting it, your not that BIG?" lol

    Tanja
