I believe it took my insurance 2-3 weeks to get me approved. I actually ended up getting 2 letters in the mail: one saying I was approved and the other one saying I wasn't approved. I had to call the insurance company to find out which one was right! Let me know if you all want to get together this weekend for lunch or coffee.

Hey everyone, Hope everyone is doing well with their recovery. I ended up not having to stay the night at the hospital but was in a lot of pain even with the pain meds. Started feeling better after monday. I am already starting to eat solid foods sortof. Been doing eggs, mashed potatoes, and chicken salad with no problems. I will be coming back to Gainesville on Sunday the 4th and school doesnt start till the 6th. If anybody wants to meet up, let me know. Robin

Mel, How are you feeling? I'm getting a little nervous. Preop went well and found out that my surgery is supposed to be at 8:30 tomorrow morning. My mom is taking me to cvs to get stuff I will need after but not sure if I will need to get gauze? or steristrips? drs office didnt say anything except to get liquid tylenol, maalox, and milk of magnesia

Good luck! I actually got sick in the middle of the semester and missed 4 weeks of class so I've been playing catchup since Thanksgiving. I ended up having to take I's in 2 classes just so I could finish the semester. Been studying like crazy for my Organic exam on Monday morning. I'm pretty nervous about everything too. My mom had it done in February and she says I have nothing to worry about. I've never had surgery so I'm still pretty worried.

Hey, I'm being banded on December 18th at Memorial Hospital in Tampa. I go to school at UF and would be interested in a meeting. Going through exams now then home on Monday for pre-op.

Hey all, I just joined the forum but have been looking for a few months. I'm having my surgery done on December 18th and have been on a preop diet for 9 days now. My 5th day was the worst, couldnt stomach the shakes so I ended up having only 2 shakes and broth that day. Been better since then. Anyone else getting banded on the 18th? Ive been a little nervous about how much it will hurt but my mom had it done last year and says its not bad. Robin
