Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
mmm replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi freckles, No I'm still here, I'm not going back until Monday, and then its only for a week again. Where has everyone gone, are they all on the facebook group, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with going on there It seems such a time waster, loads of people send me messages whenever I go on line there and it looks rude not to answer, so I'd rather say off it, I think,. Hope all is well with you. -

Not much weight lost so far but its early days, I've had one fill but it had no effect at all, so i'm looking forward to the next fill which will be on Fri, so I'm hopeing for a better result then, but although I'm a bit dissapointed, its only what I expected. Hope you have quicker results. -

Hi Money penny Gary is from Scotland and can let you know about after care in your area and he might know about support groups aswell. No doubt he'll be online soon. If you book with Dr Chris direct, he will get Frederick to contact you so that if you choose the package all taxis, hotels, are sorted inclusive, you just have to arrange flights and pay for those, you also need to let him know your flight details after you have sent off the deposit, or as soon as you know. The taxi will be waiting at the airport with a copy of the consultancy logo, Its best to fly into brusells international because its quite close to the hotel and hospital, and therefore easier to get back when you post op. As regards to post op working, most work could be resumed within 7 days unless very physical, and you have no other health issues. Some have gone back earlier but its best to take the week off at least. If in doubt Dr Chris, or Fredrick can give you medical opinion, I've only offered what most of us on hear have done. Try to find the time and read from the beginning there are loads of hints tips and advise, on earlier posts on this thread, which I found very usefull to jot down. of course you can still ask away as usual and one of us should be able to help -

oh poo, I've put on 4lb, taking me back to my original pre-banded weight, My only hope now is that the fill I'll get on Friday will help some. Hi Gary when is your next fill due, its fab you've had 3 already, I've had one for 2.5ml but it did'nt make any difference whatsoever. Its got to be bad when I can put on 4lb in one week,, I go back to France week Monday and will no doubt put more weight on if nothing works for me this time. I'm so pleased all the rest of you have been loosing weight, but why can't it be me too -

Sorry this is way off the subject but: Hi Gillian, I had my grandaughter over today before going on my holls and we made cake (cheated) and used Greens cake mix - on box it said 1 free child place with 1 paying adult saving £27.00 on entrance to lego land so if you and hubby going thats 2 free children (saving £54) but you need 2 boxes of cake mix, boxes are about £1.50 each. you could save loads offer on now. Might be worth a look. -

Hi Mandy, I must say I agree with all the other bandsters. How ludicrous saying to support british surgeons, they're hardly waiting on the side lines waiting for our business, but even if they were you're not doing it for their benefit, its for you ONLY YOU. Its about time us rounder figured friends stood up for our selves, its probably one of the reasons we're overweight any way, how many of us put others before ourselves, and seek out other opinions, only to be put down. GO MANDY. GO MANDY. Do this for yourself, be strong. After care is easily available, you dont need anything other than fills and advise, and support. fills and advise can be got from many places, and support is here. The only thing you might need your local surgery is for the possible removal of one stitch, which you can make an appointment directly with the duty nurse. Go for it. Stuff your doctor -

oh gosh I'm not very good at this but what I did was go to the very top of this page, click onto forum then I found band fills threads and the one titled whats your sweet spot with a 10ml band, if you cant find it prob flirty or freckles will be able to set up a link or whatever they do to help us. I only found it by accident, but I found it very interesting. good luck. mmm -

Hi flirty, I've just been looking at a poll on here called 'whats your sweet spot in a 10cc band' There is so much difference between the amount of fill some people have its a revelation from as little as no fill to 11ml (dont know how they fit 11ml in 10ml band tho) its worth a read when you've a quiet 5 mins, and you will also see you are quite normal or average with the amount of fill you have. Gillian, acording to this poll you have reached the holy grail and long may it last, you should now expect a faster weight loss, I'm so pleased for you. -

Dont get worried big sis, the band still works on lower bmi starting at 35 its just a bit slower, thats all, and you will still get to target, its not so fast but we will get there, but its great to know that all bandsters can get to a safe weight quickly and then gently get to target. BUT I WISH IT WAS FASTER. I wish I could ask for max fill and then get it reduced, week by week, til it was right. ha ha . -

She had .5ml one month after being banded, then 2ml 3 months later, then when the surgeon was happy she had healed properly they arranged a fill under xray, she drank barium meal whilst they tightened the band, they could then see how quickly or slowely things were passing through her band, the total volume she required was 8.75ml, she has the same band as us max 9ml, and the surgeon confirmed that the more weight you lost or the smaller you are are the more fill you require (that why the band dont give a very good result on lower bmi or less that 35). The other very strange thing he said was if Sian reached the full 9ml capacity, and stopped loosing weight he could still make the band work if she had an unfill for about 2 weeks then re-filled it again, dont know why that works, but he's prepared to do it free of charge so as long as it works its got to be good news -

Hi Flirty, your not on you own with being able to eat bread, I still can, and my daughter who has 8.75ml in her band has always been able to do so, - but she has still lost weight, as long as the weight is still coming off, its got to be a good thing, it means no one suspects you have a band, and you can lead a normal social life, Sian can eat up to 4 slices without feeling uncomfortable, but is usually quite happy with 2 slices. I'm not to sure how being pregnant will affect her band but over the last 3 months she has managed to put on 2lb, so she's not looking for an unfill untill week 30 by the look of it. -

Chris Deprez has just e.mailed me back, the combined areas of ECFS include Newport, Bristol, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dublin. I assume Edinburgh and Newport ar Chris Deprez, and the others are Fred and CDB, hope this info helps. -

No catherter, no fuss with Dr Chris only safe good quality care, and plenty of rest, wipe your eyes, you'll feel a bit bruised and battered, but he is not as invasive as a lot of other surgeons, -
