  1. So I went to my first seminar, and they stressed to make sure you call your insurance and see if they cover. They also said see if you need a supervised diet, ect. WELL...My insurance covers WLS for morbid obesity. NOW! What do I say? Do I give them the CPT code? Do I tell them my BMI? What do I say? Thank-you so much for responding/ or viewing my topic!:clap2:

    Quessstiiooonn!

:help: If your insurance company says nothing about a supervised diet, and just says to send in medical records for review/approval? Is that all I have to do?

    Massachusetts HMO BLUE

I use to ask questions like this all the time The most common answer you'll get is to give your insurer a call, and/or read your insurance handbook.
  4. I have seen on many a sites that doctors will recommend that anyone trying to get the band surgery should get PHCS, and a few other insurers. Well, I was wondering how to find out if they have a supervised diet. I was reading the insurance hand book, and it said "Must be medically neccessary". Does that mean there is no other things you have to do except me medically neccessary?
  5. I have a Maximum out of pocket of 1,000.00 not including the deductible. Does that mean if I where to get the band the most I would have to pay was 1,000.00 + deductible??

    Maximum out of pocket Question!!...

PS. In my insurance handbook it says (Single out of Pocket) is 1,000.00 BUT (Family out of Pocket) means that all 3 family members must meet the single out of pocket. Anyone have a clue what this means?

Anyone with PHCS-PPO who has has lap band?

Yes. My insurance covers surgery for the morbidly obese. Yes. At the age of seventeen I'm under the morbidly obese category, and my insurance made the suggestion last summer that I should look into it.
