  1. Hi Breanna! I went in and voted, yippee! We're both getting closer to our dates :) I saw your blog last night, that's going to be great for you to chronicle everything.

Hope you're having a good day today!

Baylorjai, I know what you mean about the "No food left behind!" I gotta stop it...there's nothing that says I have to try everything I can get my hands on before surgery! LOL Good luck to you! T-bonz
  6. Hi all! I live in Colorado and I'm scheduled for June 1st! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!! I am super excited and SO ready for this part of the journey to begin Good luck everyone, we WILL be successful!
  7. Hi all, I'm wondering how all you nurses out there work 12 hour shifts with the lap band. (Or, anyone else working 12 hour shifts). I'm waiting for my insurance approval and hope to have a June surgery date. How do you eat during your shift. Obviously, there's a time constraint for "breaks," if they can be called that, during nursing shifts. Getting in Water won't be an issue, but how do you manage to eat on days that you work? Thanks for replying in advance! T-bonz
  8. I have Aetna and was told that the approval process is pretty quick once they receive the paperwork. I'm a little frustrated because I finished my 3 month supervised program and my paperwork hasn't been submitted yet. It's been a little over 3 weeks since my last appointment. I've called the insurance company and contacted the Dr.'s office and nothing has happened yet. Bummer. I kind of thought once I'd finished the paperwork would be submitted to Aetna within a few days. I hope your approval comes quickly for you! Good luck!
  9. I have Aetna insurance and they require a three month supervised diet/exercise/psych program. I had my first appt with the psych guy today. This was our "intro" meeting and doesn't count toward the three month deal. Darn! Oh, well...I'll end up seeing him four times. I guess it depends on insurance requirements. Good luck to you on your journey!! :tongue2::biggrin:
  10. Hi all! I'm new on the boards....I've been lurking for a month or so, I have my first consultation appointment on December 18th with the surgeon. I've been soaking in a lot of information on the boards, wow! What a resource! One thing that I haven't found is: How long is the actual procedure? I'm sure it varies, but is it an hour? Less than an hour? I'm crossing my fingers that I can get this process moving along, the appointment on the 18th is just the beginning of the journey! Yippee!! Thanks for all the first hand experience stories, they definitely help a gal like me who is a "beginner!":biggrin:
