Hey everyone I just got banded on June 12th!!!! Everything went well. Just a lot of gas but walking works.. So everyone walk, walk, walk! Anyone who is getting it done dont be nervous! Its a cake walk, just do what they say, and try to get a night stay in the hosp so they can control your pain meds. I cant wait for the results! Good luck.. Jenna

Hey June banders !! I am going in for my endoscopy,EKG, and blood work tomorrow. They said I will be sedated does that mean I will be completly out? I am so excited my date is June 12th which in next Friday... Congrats to anyone who has had the surgery or is having it in the future. Good luck and if anyone has any advice please let me know. Hi Thanks so much for replying. You said the pre op diet is tough, how so? If you can just give me some tips that would be great!! My surgery is June 12th and I havent heard anything from them since my last appointment, should I call them? I feel like I should be doing something but I just dont know what. How did the payment work? Will I be able to do a monthly payment with the hospital? Sorry I have so many questions... If you can get back and tell me anything about it I would appreciate it so much! Thank you so much for the advice. I am very excited and not so much nervous yet. I am just trying to keep calm and take one day at a time before the surgery. I am having it done at St Raphels in New haven by Dr. Elmer Valin. Who was your Dr? How did you feel when you woke up from the surgery? That I think is my biggest concern. I remember when I got my toncils out a long time ago when I woke up I just threw up and felt so nauseus. Ugh I dont want to feel that way. I am going to get a journal today and start writing in it. Thank you so much for all the advice and support. I really appreciate it soo much. I have been learning more and more each day and its great. Monday I began eating healthier lots of fruit and vegs, staying away from bread and all the little junk foods. I want to be a step ahead when I get my surgery. I found a Dr that my primary physition reccomended and his name is Dr. Valin. he is in New haven and I am going to talk to him on Monday afternoon. Hi CT Banders!! I am so happy that I found you all... I live in Hamden CT and I finally got my first consultation which is on Monday. I am excited and nervous!! I am 340lbs and I am 27 years old. I am married and just bought our first house. My primary Dr reccomended that I get this surgery before I get any older. I have a high BMI and I have no energy. I am a Chef so that makes it even harder. I want to be able to run around that kitchen like I am 27, and I want to be able to have a baby soon. My doctor doenst want me getting pregnant being this weight. We need to all stick together! The CT Banders. Please write me back anyone from CT Jenna~

Did it take a long time for them to call you? What is the first meeting with him entail? I just have so many questions and I am so glad that I found someone from CT!
