Thank you so much, dawalsh and I didn't mean to generalize, not everyone is a bully on LBT but if you compare this site to how it was 5 years ago, you'd probably see what I'm talking about. Glad to know you're supportive and good luck in your WLS journey

I've noticed the people who are "unsupportive" on this thread are so in just about any other thread on LBT, I hope Alex or any of the other moderators take notice before more people stop visiting the site. I've had my band since 08, lost 120 lbs, reached goal within 10 months until it slipped at 2 years post op after a bad stomach bug It turns out every time I get near the green zone my band would slip. Since my BAND FAILED me, I'm in the works to have a revision Best of luck to all who are having problems, I suggest you visit other sites also, if you feel harassed on LBT. I was very active on this site a few years ago and you would actually get SUPPORT from other users. SMH

Hang in there, it wasn't until I had 10.5 cc in my band that I actually had restriction. And since then, the smallest adjustments (0.1cc) make a huge difference. Good luck!

I agree with involving him as much as possible in the whole process.I find that my hubby is way more "protective" of me, he's never really shown insecurities, but I stroke his ego, too, by doing little things like pretend I'm a little jealous when I'm not at all (lol is this bad?). Best of luck to you!

How well does your husbands adjust to you weight loss?
rafa2 replied to talkalot1981's topic in The Gals' Room
I agree with the previous replies, you just have to reassure him of your love and commitment. My husband has always been attentive towards me in the past, and I notice that now he's just a little more "protective" of me, like he won't let go of my hand for even a split second lol. I think it's got a lot to do with confidence and self-esteem (hubby is very confident and I find that extremely attractive), and just remember, talk things out with him, this may sound cliche but communication is key. Good luck -
hi guys, it's been forever since I've been on LBT, I'm so close to goal, I can smell it Hope all you guys are doing great!

Is Your Family Losing Weight Since You've Been Banded?
rafa2 replied to Desdemona's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My kids are still young (5 and 7)and growing, I've maintained their diet the same. But my husband has been eating way more, he eats all my leftovers... thank God he doesn't have a weight problem :tongue2: -

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
rafa2 replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is a before at 270 lbs and a "during" at 175 lbs... I love my band :w00t: -
I went on vacation to Florida last month and found that, not only was my band extra tight, but I never got hungry.I thought it may have been because we were doing all the parks, and between all the walking and the heat, my band responded that way. Well now it seems Mass is actually starting to warm up, and I've been having the same problems (not hungry at all)... last summer I hadn't reached my sweet spot yet, so I didn't have a problem then. I wonder if my body will adjust to it being warm, or if I'll have to go for an unfill  Any thoughts?

Goal Size vs Goal Weight
rafa2 replied to 2911plans's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I used to think the same way when I used to read these posts, but now I can say the same, I used to be a 22 and now I'm a 12 and I'm still losing!!! You'll find that once you get past bandster hell (don't let it discourage you), you'll see the scale moving and you'll see that being smaller will be a totally realistic goal. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you love your band as much as I love mine :bored: -
I find that certain things like not getting enough sleep or not getting in enough fluids make my band tighter...
-
That's wonderful, congratulations!!! I'm 11 lbs away from that mark, and I can't wait

How often do you vomit/PB?
rafa2 replied to mandi78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
At first I used to PB often, as I've gotten to know my band and its limits, I can't even remember the last time I PB'd  -
I don't really calculate how long it takes me to eat, and I just eat when I'm hungry, which is usually 3 times a day, sometimes 2, sometimes 4... I just listen to my body now, when before I'd eat all day.

I had to buy them too, my rings were falling off as I walked. In shoes, I went from a 10 to a 8 1/2:thumbup:

Numbing medication with fills
rafa2 replied to jessicakolman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
my doctor uses lidocaine which stings a little, but I can't even imagine getting a fill w/o numbing meds  -
I just got back from Orlando, Fl on vacation with my family, and I hadn't been there since I was a teenager (and much smaller), I was so nervous about not being able to fit on the rides. But I'm more than happy to inform that, not only did I fit, but comfortably, and with plenty of room leftover in all rides. I was able to enjoy every single ride with my family in 5 different parks. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!
-
Thanks, Guys. I once had to leave the superman ride at six flags in front of everyone, I felt humiliated  But now, thanks to my band, those days are long gone.

You know, Daney, all relationships take work and have their ups and downs, and they shouldn't be difficult or stressful, the good should always outweigh the bad,... the way I see it is, if someone is compatible with you, you should have an easy flowing relationship with a few bumps on the road... I wish you all the best with surgery and your relationship, God bless you!

I've got a couple of NSV's... the main one I have to say was going to 5 parks in Orlando, FL I fitting comfortably in every single ride! And this past weekend at church I actually had someone ask me if I had plastic surgery!?!?!?! I couldn't be happier with my band and I thank God for giving me the strength and courage I needed to go on with surgery when I was terrified! LOVE MY BAND!!!
