  1. Happy 62nd Birthday Eva B!

  2. Today I am really mad and frustrated Grrrrr! I have had 3 fills yes 3 and said when I left last week if I don't feel restiction I will be right back. Well I called because I only feel maybe the tinyiest restriction I am nowhere where I should be only to find out my dr. is on vacation for two weeks and I will be gone the third week so now I get to wait 4 more weeks. I really want to just cry. You know if I was good at dieting I wouldn't have needed this surgery. Now I just feel like my life will be on hold for another month and I can keep struggling not to gain. It won't be easy because when I am down guess what I like to do. If I could do it over I would NEVER have told so many people I had this done. I am so SICK of everyone asking me how are you doing? And I have to keep explaining well I don't really have any restrition yet so I am just doing the best I can. My advice is don't tell everyone like I did because if it takes forever to get your band tight you will be sorry if the weight doesn't fall off. Banded Jan. 30th Lost 18 pounds. still a million to go!
  3. well I am sure glad I am not alone. This is very frustrating for me. I was Banded Jan 30th. I have had 3 fills and still almost no restriction. geez all this time and instead of losing weight right now I am holding. This is depressing me. I am going to go every week until I figure out what the sweet spot is and I don't feel so hungary. Why do they have to do this in such tiny amounts. My Realize band holds 10 cc and 3 fills later I am at 4 1/2 cc. When I get down I am dangerous because then I don't make good food choices. Its just so much time has gone by and I want to be thin yesterday!
  4. Thanks, Peachwood, I thought I was pretty inovative because I was asking for the Realize Band. In fact I was my Dr. first patient with the Realize(he has done hundreds of the Lap band) Now I am wondering which Realize band he used. The one thing that was weird to me is when I had my xray at the hospital the tech(never should have told me this, as I am always wanting to know why)they where amazed at my band being so high up compared to everyone else's. Of coarse I asked and was told it was placed ecactly where it was supposed to be. I hope that doesn't make a difference in pressing on the Vagus nerve. Plus I don't think my Vagus works either! Do you know if your band is placed real high? I know this is probably a dumb question, just curious. Thanks! Eva Milwaukee WI. Age 58 lost 19 pounds
  5. Hi Peachwood,I see that you have a Realize Band and you mention a C band, what does that mean, someone else mentioned on here that there are two size of bands I never heard that. Do you know anything about that? Good for you with all the excercise, I am lacking there, perhaps you are toning and developeing muscle which weighs more so you may be loseing inches. I haven't heard of the Vagus nerve either if you can comment on that I would love to hear about it, I sure like the thought of having this band work on that nerve if it makes you feel full. Thanks!
  6. Oh Gatornurse, I forgot to mention Yes I did have my stomache get sore, I figured it was because of my pants being to tight and pressing on it or that I did to much but it went away and everything is fine. Don't worry, unless it gets worse or doesn't go away then you should call your doc.
  7. Wow, Gatornurse, you where banded 4 days after me, and you are still on purred food and with no hunger. How fortunate for you. I have been on real food for over a week and had my first fill. Good for you I wish I could have not had the hunger I bet you are really loseing weight nicely. Even with my first fill I still feel as though I am mostly doing it on my own. I guess with the different bands and our different bodies it is different for all of us. I am so glad the nice weather is around the corner and we are all working on our new bodies, can't wait to lose the weight!
  8. Kityy-mom, the thing is I did just have a fill on March 3rd. That's why I am so shocked that I don't really feel any restriction, I was hoping for more help from the band. Plus 4cc's sounds like a lot but maybe for the Realize Band it isn't? Thanks and glad your feeling so well.
  9. Hi, I was banded on the 30th of Jan. (Realize band) I had my first fill on March 3rd. I had 4CC put in. I was so excited because I was hungry and had no resriction at all. My big question is how many cc's can the Realize band hold because I can't even believe this but I am wondering is there something wrong with me did I stretch something, because I do not really feel any restriction. I feel as though I am doing this on my own using will power instead of feeling full. I am eating a lot less, I don't know what I am expecting but when I hear of someone getting full on their coffee, I sure wish I was closer to that. If anyone can let me know how many cc's the Realize Band can hold as I would like to know how much room I have to get tightened. I am scared that I am not loseing like I was when I was on liquids. Help! I am suppose to go back in a month, do you think I should try to go back sooner!
  10. Hello everyone, and Hedostar, I went to the Dr. yesterday and everything was great! Now have permission for puree for 1 week and then food, also have my first fill set for March 3rd. I talked to the nurse and she confirmed that the reason for the protocall is to learn to eat right and slow so when we have the fill we are used to doing it right. In fact I could have had my first fill in a week if there would have been openings. I am just releaved all is well. Some of my puree is being done by me chewing real well, like my fluffy egg and cottage cheese I made. I am so happy to be feeling great and loseing weight. 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I think for me that is really good.
  11. I just want to say to Hedostar I just saw your post after I just posted my story and I know just how you feel I am nervous too. I feel really great I to am just praying that nothing moved or slipped I am hoping that what is bad is throwing up and if it goes down easy that we will be all right. I wonder if anyone has experince about this What happens if you eat food to early?
  12. I was banded on Jan. 30th Ok here is the confession. I had a really easy time with my surgery, 3 days of some gas pains, tired a little more than usual but one week of doing everything right I was ready for more than liquids, so I was so happy to finally get cereral and soup, now I am tired of just soup so I have moved ahead by 3 days to the puree stage only problem is I am using my mouth to puree some things just chew chew chew, I feel great my energy is great and I am looseing weight, so I hope I am not in some kind of trouble for moving ahead basicly you could say I am eating food. Just mushie food like tuna, eggs and cottage cheese. Just very carefully. It seems as though every doctor is different in what they let you eat. I will be 3 weeks out this Friday and I see my doctor, I wonder if he will be upset with me if I tell him I moved ahead. Wish I was a better role model, but I am really trying hard. I am looking forward to my first fill! Maybe then I won't care. At least I know I am not the only one struggling to do it all right. I sure hope there is leaway in there and I am not in trouble. Anyone have some thoughts, how are you handling your hunger?
  13. Hi, I was banded on Jan. 30th everything has gone real smooth, managed to get through the first week just liquids now I am on the two weeks of mushies. However I have been so hungry and so sick of sweet shakes and just soup that I have eaten things like cheese even chewed some broccoli, and a couple of pretzels. All which went down very easy, but now I feel scared and guilty. Can anything bad happen to me because of not following perfect? Is the purpose of the mushies so you don't throw up or is there another reason? Has anyone else ate food they shouldn't have? I hate to think I am the only one.
  14. Hi Caribou, Lucky you the hardest part is over. I feel good but I am a little nervous about the surgery going good. Did you have much pain, a couple of posts had me going oh oh, hope that's not me. Oh well it is what it is, I am just so high right now on getting a new lease on life. My dream to wear regular clothes. I am glad everythling is going so well for you. Eva 58 and almost banded
  15. Hello Bansters, day 5 on my pre-op, Friday is my surgery date for the Realize Band. Although my doctor has put in over a hundred bands I will be his first Realize Band, there will be another doctor from the Realize company to certify my doctor, not crazy about being first but I think that the bands are pretty much the same as far as putting them in. I am getting nervous mostly about what I am going to feel like after the surgery. I hope it goes as good as my protein diet, I am doing So much better than I thought I would. Well soon I will finally be banded!
