    3days down

You're usually on liquids for at least another week after surgery. Throw some yogurt (with no chunks of any fruit) in the mix as well. Lots of soup, clear juices and yogurt...

    Panicing... weird bump

It's port...Mine was there right after surgery, but on first fill, they found it just below my incision. Take care and relax! You're on the way to a new beginning!
  4. I am so impressed with your tremendous weight loss in 6 months. I had surgery March 12, 09 and am -46...just curious...was your key the jogging? Was it a high percentage of protein intake via protein powder? Please share any insights...I'd love to drop another 50 by the end of 6 months. Thanks, Pat

    TRS Active Care 3

I used it. But, I was BMI 47 with every qualifying condition listed. Sleep apnea, high b/p, diabetes type II, even sec. hypertension of the lungs and so on. I had to give the past 4 or 5 yrs. proof from pulmonologist showing I had seen a doc and what my weight was in that time. I had to do 6 more months of 'diet' under care of PPO. They approved me..paid like clockwork (I only lacked 1700 of my out of pocket) and here I am after March 12, 09 surgery, -46 and many inches. Still losing and normal everything...no meds since day before surgery! Hang in there!

    MUSHIES...Any Ideas??

If you haven't found a protein powder you like, try Unjury and then, with a good food processor/blender...create some delicious fruit smoothies and/or shakes! 1 scoop of vanilla powder, 8 oz of 1% milk and a half cup frozen strawberries...yummm...cold, goes down easy and keeps ya full for about three hours. Also, Unjury is a protein ISOLATE rather than protein CONCENTRATE...makes all the difference in the world!

    Texans Bandsters

Hi from Humble, Texas (23 miles NE of Houston town). Banded March 12, 09, down 46 pounds. I'm stuck since first fill of 5.5 cc's almost two weeks ago...getting second fill in 9 more days! I love my band, tho!! Skippy Yippee!!

First Fill today 5 cc's is that normal?

I had 5.5 on first fill. It changed the way I would eat..ruined my playhouse. The weight was sliding off, now, 2 lbs a week and food will come back up for a second vote some days. Mornings are difficult to do anything but a protein shake...but, i love the band and waiting now for sweet spot so the weight begins to fade again. -46

    Mushie's Phase

Well, why not eat pureed meat? My husband cooked delicious meats with all the wonderful seasonings and I stuck it in the food processor and pureed it to a fine consistency. You need protein..my doc says 70-90 grams a day...it's either that or lots of protein powder stuff. Good luck!

  13. I was banded on March 12th, '09...my first fill was one week ago. This morning, finally, I had lost 2 more pounds! My total loss is -46 now...and several inches! My tummy will accept foods on some days and for the first time yesterday, did not want any solid anything. I drank protein shakes. Today is a good day...I'm happy, love the band and moving forward~!
  14. Morning is my only challenge! The first three bites and I'm in pain. Tiny bites, space between, but my tummy argues every single morning. The rest of the day is a.o.k. for me. Good luck with yours.

    5 month check in..should I be disappointed?

I understand the frustration! I flew during the first month after surgery. I was filled last Wednesday with 5.5 cc's. My weight loss has come to a screeching halt and it is frustrating. Understanding how all of this works is a challenge. I simply continuing to do all of the right things. But, after dropping 44 immediately, 1 to 2 per week is really going to be frustrating. Now I get to adjust my expectations of ME!!!
  17. Jay Rob's Whey Protein...I use vanilla...one scoop of it, one cup of ice cold milk, 1/2 banana, tbs. of sf choc pudding mix...6 ice cubes...blend it all and enjoy.
