I was banded in December and had 2 fills. The 2nd fill was in April and I have been fine for awhile but in the past 2 weeks I've been having problems. I can eat very little food, sometimes no food. At times I can't drink, and I have brought up fluids twice. I'm really bad in the morning but also at night. I also get really bad pain in my esophagus and also in my stomach. When i drink i get these funny croaking noises in my throat. Sometime the pain is awhile after I eat or drink. I called and made an appt. with my Dr., they couldn't fit me in until next week, but I'm wondering if I should take it more serious. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Need Help with Conflicting Info About Diet
santhony posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I went in for my 1 week pre-op appt. with my surgeon, who wasn't there because he'd been called out for emergency surgery. But the surgeon that saw thought everything was fine. I asked to speak to the nurse/ assistant mty surgeons office because I had some questions about when I could start solid foods. I told her I has started mushies/ pureed food and she was confused. She asked me who told me I could do that I and explained that when I was in the hospital the nutritionist saw me twice and gave me pamphlets about my diet. The nutritionist said clear lig. 1 week then mushy/ pureed for 2 weeks. The nurse / asst. said thats not the program the surgeon follows he recommends clear liq. 2 weeks. But she said she guessed if I was tolerateing mushy than okay but I should be cautious. Has anyone else had this protocol (clear 1 wk, then mushy) should I go back, although I don't think I could have done clear liq. another week, I could baerly tolerate them anymore anyway. I just need to here what others think. -
I was banded on 12-2 and it has been 5 days since I could have liquids. By day three I was feeling a little better but having some pressure/ pain/ nausea that I wasn't sure about. I found this site and read some threads and I'm pretty sure its a combination of gas and hunger. By today its been better, not as much pain, but I'm sooooooooo sick of liquids. I am supposed to meet with my surgeon on Wed. (8 days after surgery) and can start pureed / mushy foods then, which I'm looking forward to. But to be honest I wouldn't mid having just plain food- in small portions of course. But I'm looking at this as my Christmas present to myself, because I've has thousands of meals but what I've wanted all my life is to be healthy and not overweight.

Where Decembers Bandsters?
santhony replied to pfrance's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pstroud- I have had the same issue with the shoulder pain and the burping. I had my appendix removed laparscopically and had the same problem, and other shave told me me they had the problem. I think its from the gas they use to inflate your abdomen, and it needs to escape after surgery. This seems to be the same with the burping. So don't worry. -
Where Decembers Bandsters?

I was banded on Dec. 2. I came home Dec 3 and have been on clear liquids for 5 days. No major issues, pain has decreased each day, and I'm able to move easier today. So sick of liquids ( I swear I smell like broth and jello)! But I'm dealing with the hunger, keep sipping my water. And watching live tv can be tormenting, never realized how many ads for food. But I've eaten all those foods and they never brought me what I wanted right?
