  3. ParrotHeadCathy ~ Thanks for your reply; I don't get many on here... I guess It's all my fault; I am just not being as diligent as I should and it's frustrating.. I was just hoping this tool would give my discipline a kick in the A**... Which if I get to a point with the ccS it will... I just have NO willpower.. As far as your questions: Have you ever felt any restriction? I have to a point. Do you eat as prescribed, that is 3 oz of Protein, steamed or raw vegetable and then and only then, if still hungry WHOLE GRAIN carbs? I wasn't given this information.. We have a nutritionalist for the beginning and were told to keep it below 1,000 calories on days I don't go to gym and 1,200 on days that I do. Do you snack? When stressed... On what? Nuts, yogurt, jell-o... but I do have bad habits (chips ~ not much though)... Do you have problems swallowing any foods? not really; starting to see problems with breads, but I am not really eating them anyhow.
  4. I was banded on 2.19.09 and i've only lost 17lbs. and that was in the beginning.. the last couple of fills I have been up and down.. I am not eating as much (not even close) to what I ate prior. I am more active and I am working out. Now I admit I am not working out like I should, but shouldn't I still be losing? I am not snacking like i used to; though I am a stress eater so that is now affecting me. I am up to 8cc in my band and not feeling the restrictions or other items people had told me about. I am just frustrated that I am over looking what I need to do or not doing what I should because I am FRUSTRATED......
  5. No bother. I went on solid food way faster than what they recommended. I felt like I healed up super fast and never had an issue with nausea whatsoever. I did about 5 days liquid post op then about 3 days of mushies and then regular food after that. I can eat cheeseburgers, pizza, etc. right now and I don't think it's a big deal because I'm not filled yet. I figure this is my last chance to eat "normal" food so i'm enjoying myself for the next week. Once I get filled I'll be much more strict with myself. I figure, since the time between surgery and your first fill is for healing...not dieting. So that's what i'm doing.

PS - I do chew very slowly now and i find myself getting fuller much faster. I can probably eat about 50% of what I used to and I do wait until after i've eat to drink anything.

  6. Guy ~

I hate to bother you, but I just seem to get far on here.. I was banded on 2.19.09; I've lost a total of 17lbs thus far. I have had moments where I wanted to try solid food; just to see... Did you have these moments? in the "hell" forum you said something about appetite being back and so so... I am trying very hard to stay on the diet, but part of me is more curious about what the effects are (not the vomiting part, just the full part)....

  7. I appreciate the advice; I've been staying w/ the post op diet.... I just am worried about slippage or port flipping and wasn't sure if someone could give me advice on it... THANKS
  8. Does anyone know the following or suggestions... 1. had a port flip? How do you know 2. When still in first couple of weeks post op; eat items not on the list... I.e. eggs; I ate, but chewed reallllly wel.. I am not having hunger issues (as much) and am getting full pretty quickly... Just curious if anyone went off of the diet... THANKS
  9. Blondie ~ I was banded 2.19.09 and have had similar pains. I do not feel like I've done a huge amount of situps, but I do know it's gas. When I sit down then I feel it and my stomach aches.. When I get up and walk; is when it goes away and I have a rumble in my tummy. I don't have it as much anymore, but I do notice that when I eat; I burp. That's where my issue arises.. Right now I am on liquids; though I did have some cottage cheese (4oz) which I handled well. I am just having issues knowing when I'm full because I don't ever feel realllly hungry... Well Good Luck to All!!!

    before surgery diet

Good Luck to you! I was banded on 2.19.09; and it's been a journey. i thought the pre-surgery diet was rougher than post, but i did it. I however, didn't lose as much as others for a variety of reasons. I suggest sticking to it as best as possible... You will have to blog after the surgery and let us know how it goes.. Good :w00t: Luck!!!
  11. I was on clear full liquids day one post op. Booklet states to be on liquids, Soups (w/o chunks ) etc now... that's what I am doing.. I am just not sure how I should feel... I'm following it pretty much to a tee besides not gettin enuff calories, but I am working that out. I am getting all the Protein required and more. Also, I have this pain in my chest like something is sitting there... Any ideas.. THANKS
  12. I had my surgery on 2.19.09. I am doing well and am just not sure when I know that I am full... The first 3 days; I didn't feel hungry at all, but just kept making sure I followed orders. via my doctor; I am to have at least 600 calories no more than 1000 calories... I was barely making 600... My question is: how do you know when ur full? THANKS :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
