Lap Band ladies....does this make you hate your boobs??
SunnyDee replied to MellyBelle's topic in The Gals' Room
I am so looking forward to mine getting smaller. I've been hauling around these 52DD's for too many years now. If I can get back into a 46 D I'll be thrilled. Pretty lacy bra's here I come again :grouphug: -
Myra Thanks for your words......yeah I plan on calling them every day now that I know they have the paperwork. I was disolving into tears over the run around I was getting, but I tell ya Dr. Hung's nurse Lisa is a gem and really pushed them till they had to fess up they had it. I'm hoping for June......I need to go semi liquid, the past 3 weeks I've been stressed over this and gained 8 lbs. sheesh But I'm getting back in gear and walking again and not giving into the frustration like I have the past couple of weeks. I'll outwit them no matter what lol.....

Ok this is an older post but it just SCREAMED to me!!! I am going thru the same darn thing with UHC. The Nurse has faxed over my paperwork FOUR times and FOUR times they can't seem to find it. I end up disolving in tears when I try to follow up.....So Dr. Hung's wonderful Nurse Lisa has run the gamut for me. She got direct number of someone at UHC and called him everday for SEVEN days. This guy was so tired of her calling I think he personally went around looking for my paperwork. And Voila!!! The EIGHTH time did the trick. I'm in the system. Now I just have to wait for approval, and I think Mr. UHC is going to push for that so the Nurse doesn't pay him a visit lol Dr. Hung's Nurse says she runs into this ALOT with UHC, so if anyone out there has their POS in the Nebraska area.....Keep plugging and don't let them push you around. And by all means utilize the Dr.'s staff, I have found they are usually the best resource to getting these kind of snaffu's straighted out for you. Ok that's my o2 cents lol

55 here and hoping for a June/2006 surgery date. Dr. Hung's wonderful Nurse just faxed over my paperwork to the insurance company and I am trying to be patient lol Guess I've been patient enough to wait till I'm 55, another week or so won't kill me. Good to have a group where I'm not the oldest or the youngest. I'm just now compling my list of liquids to pick up for after surgery and mushies I can plan on as well. Ordered a *Magic Bullet* so that I can whip up my protien drinks and keep em in the fridge for dinner when I get home from work. In my head I understand there's bound to be some pain afterwards, but I am hoping for the least, as I'm such a big baby lol.

SunnyDee replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello All My name is Sunny and I thought I'd drop in and introduce myself and say hello to all. I too am supersized, and am now awaiting my insurance approval *keeping fingers crossed* Was thrilled to find this thread, and know I'm not the only super size bander or band to be Hope to have insurance approval and band placement in June. Looking forward to doing some reading of old posts and getting to know ya'll. Sunny:clap2: Pre surgery wgt 321 awaiting ins approval Dr. Hung -
Hi all My name is Sunny and I'm pre-op and figured I'd stop in and introduce myself. Anyone else here from the Mid West? I'm hoping to be banded by Dr. Hung in Lincoln Ne., and have completed 3 of the 4 required pre-op appointments. Just the pysch and I think I might have to have blood work and an ekg with my pcp. Won't know that till I have the psych appt and notify the Dr's office. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be approved, so far the insurance company seems to be workable. I can't wait to *not be hungry* it's not something I've ever felt before. I know this is a tool......but I found I'm pretty handy with most tools So I'm psyched to have a chance to have this tool to help me get healthy. Looking forward to reading more and getting to share with you all. Sunny

Mrs. Husker You're doing better than me.....I've been on a binge it seems to eat things I figure I won't be able to eat for a very long time to come. arrrgh...But I did see post about a quasi pre-op diet someone with diabetes is doing and I plan on doing that two weeks before my surgery to hopefully help me shed a few lbs. The hardest thing for me is going to be the *chew till it's almost liquified* as I don't have bottom teeth lol. I'm thinking I'll be pureeing a lot of food way past the puree stage :hungry:

WOW 52lbs in less than a month.....now that's what I'm looking forward to.... Thanks for the good luck wishes, met with the psych and I'm more psyched than ever as she feels I'm a good candidate. Hoping to have a date by next month.

Hi Barb I just had my psych consult and she said I'm a great candidate. Talked to the surgeons nurse and she's faxing over my insurance paperwork this week. My co-worker is scheduled for her banding on Monday. So far luckily UHC is open to this if you have a high enough bmi and they consider it medically necessary. She was approved in less than 10 days on the first try. Keeping my fingers crossed I will be as well Will be having my surgery here in Lincoln at Saint Elizabeth's as soon as they ok it. Does your Dr. have a lot of pre-op things you need to complete? I still have to attend a pre-op meeting on June 1st so I am thinking I will be banded sometime in June.....God willing. Great to know there are others out here in Nebraska.......yeah it's hard to wait, I hear ya. I've been waiting almost 6 years for the right health insurance coverage. Sunny:clap2:
