hiya i live in glasgow also, the ryanair flight from prestwick only goes to charleroi airport which is a fair distance and additional cost at the other end not to mention the strange flight times and also the added hassle on the way home when ur not feeling the best. the best flight altho expensive is BMI from edinburgh direct to brussels international, u can fly from glasgow but these flights go via manchester or londong and are only a little less. In summary although on the face of it, it seem way more expensive from edinburgh however once u add additional taxis or train and hassle from charleroi then i know what i would choose again. I have met a few folk from scotland pre op to help answer any questions, so if u want to meet for a chat then just let me know i live in east kilbride and work all over so let me know if that may help g

Hiya Ur not long out of surgery and as someone said carriejess or bobo i think the port can give you twinges for up to 6 weeks. if the hardness is around your port scar then this is probable just scar tissue or old blood, i had a huge hematoma size of a gratefruit which is a bleed inside which they never seen when i was closed up, this just feels like a ball of fat and i had to get it drained, as long as its not fiery to touch or inflamed like an infection i would say your just healing, we were all the same wondering what different feelings are nd thats why the support from all of us is so invaluable. If you feel its getting worse see ur gp or A&E or just keep in touch no matter how trivial. g

jb i was tender for a few weeks, it gets tighter but thats just the healing process, like previous post sud if you get redness or heat around wound then a wee trip to doc for antibiotic will sort. just listen to your body nd relax, dont think u feel great and do too much as it will bite you back. g

noone seems to have went, frederik and dr c mailed me back to say its done at dr c home nd its 50 euro but its the cost of the flights, i will get a fill on the 25th in edinburgh and get a chat with him there. x

Hey Baarbs THats awesome well done, just relax be patient, be patient be patient, i know its far effin easier to write than to actually do but u will have time with your band that you will be pulling that lovely blonde hair out, i am nearly a year post op now and i need a wee fill so at the moment i am eating all around me again and put on a few pounds but i know that i am only a fill away from stopping that and for me that the big difference, i lost 7 stone myself 5 years ago and got to nearly where i am the now and was comfortable with myself getting compliments, dating and low and behold it all slipped back on but now it wont, the band wont let it happen. I think what i am saying is even if you eat around you and cant stop then you now have the tool that you just need wee fill and that temptation goes, then guess what 6-8 weeks later the cycle starts again, u start eating sh@te then you get nother fill. Others may be different but thats how it is for me and beleive me having that confidence that i can stop the temtation with a fill is worht all the hassle over the year. you are so early and a stone down so accept it mrs, typical womn impatient hahahahahahahahaha gxxx

Fair cop TIN takes more of a man to admit you were wrong than to write the stuff in the first place, it was out of character to what we know of you. Buy a punchbag or go for a run that does it for me as we all have bad days and we deal with them differently. Stick with your band, revisit the start of this thread and read through again as i am sure you will get some bits of advice you may have forgot. Its just a blimp we are all here for the same reason. g

Hi BS Now quite sure about fighting over me, i stil have got pleanty to loose, i am sitting still at 21 stone but my shape has completely changed from gym and yoga, i know il never be 12 stone due to my build but if i loose another 4 stone i think i will be happy, i am borderline on needing a fil, somedays yes other no but i think i have just learned to eat softer food so on that i definately need one, so will book for 25th feb with dr c and wil say to him about xray, he did mail me yesterday saying i had to get it. ON your fron god stone and bit to go thats majic welldone that will be gone in no time. gxx

morning all i have a question for those banded longer than me. Who has went to see dr chris for the annual xray check up, was this at his house or the hospital and did you have to stay overnight, was there a charge. Cheers g
