yip your right however my reason was that he struggled to find port becuase of the hematoma and suggested an ultrasound, i cant get an app for april in edinburgh and can in may but i am at a stag weekend and then it will be june which is too far away so i want another fill asap. I have pretty much decide to just try frederik at Manchester next week and if he gets it great if not i will just need to wait. Iam so impatient, typical man. Gx -

Hi Dawn I dont think there is any problems with port are just in a slightly different position than i and Dr Chris thought but i can understand as when lying down everythin is in a different place as to standing up when you have a lot of extra fat. The hematome is not painful, Dr c managed to drain about 60% out it last week with a syringe, if i push against it if i am sitting at a table then its a little uncomfortable but not really sore. As far as is it burst, i am not sure but i would say it is going down slowly, Dr c told me it could take some time to disperse back into system. Its probably between a golf an tennis ball in size. I am undecided whether to go over and have an ultrasound but i am kind of thinking its not really bothering me, what do you think. Gx -

hi all as you know i am thinking on going to belgium for a further fill and check up due to hematoma. I can get a low cost flight to the other airport with ryanair. can anyone who as used it please advise costs on train/taxi to vilvoorde and the travel time. Did not want to go this way after op due to pain but for this the extra travel outways the cost. Thanks Gx -

if your staying in campanile vilvoorde then ask reception as there is a supermarket close be. Basicall you go out hotel under railway bridge and then basically cross road and there is a street that goes up at 1 oclock and there is a shop on left. Good luck -

I am 150% sure that it is the fear of the unknown as they dont know anything about it, if you were going for a routine medical operation yes they would be worried but would not say dont do it because they kind of know whats involved, i had family and friends that were unsure but did not put me off, but after all research i done i sat and explained to the ones that were interested and now they are dead keen on my progress. Sure by now your up too speed on the whole thing so dont get defencless with them just take some time and explain, sure once they understand, the concern will ease, never go away because they care about you. Take it easy G -

BAND MEETING If we were to stick a pin in a map of the uk as to where would be a good location for us all to meet for a wee get together where would it be, give me an indication as to locations as i am quite sure we could arrange a small get together and of course a few small alcopops of course sugar free and no gas. I know flirty is up for it (meeting that is ) and going by some previous posts me thinks ther may be a few others. JUst a wee idea. Gx -

SWEET SPOT Every one is different and restriction form the band will happen to everyone at a different level, you will hear everyone talking about fills, the sweet spot is where you persoanlly feel most comfortable with your level of restriction so that could be 2 fills for you but 6 for me just how you want to be. Some people with a band want to be super tight and can only eat mush or pureed food through choice and some people only want light rstriciton just a gentle reminder that something is there. I know a lady at the support group i attend that her sweet spot is very tight and can only eat mush, thats her choice, she has lost 14 stone and that just how she wants it. I hope to get restriciton but still pretty much want to eat normal food allbeit smaller amounts however at the moment while i am motivated rstriction would not make a huge difference however in 6 months time where i may be struggling with dieting i might choose to have it tight to make sure i keep loosing, so your sweet spot is where you feel most comfortable and are loosing weight. Hope this helps.
