mmmmmm well i will try, have you ever drank a big drink and felt a light gurggle coming from the middle of your chest right up the back of your throat, if so then its simmilar. When your tight if your pouch is filled with food then basically the hole into your stomach is blocked and therfoe if you continue to eat it backs up, as the food passes through the band in your stomach its like a release of air and that passes up to your throat, causing the gurggles in your throat, its a strnage feeling not really sore but you know its there and you cant eat anything on top, if you do then thts when your mouth produced the thick slaiva and it adds to the problem by backing up even further so you then feel you need to keep spitting out the saliva, then it starts to get sore. If after that if the food you ate initially has not passed through and wont go through (possibly meat or bread or fibrous food) then the body gives up and makes the whole lot come up (PB) which is releif but not the best for the band. After all that you wont be able to eat or drink as you osophegus is swollen and takes a few hours to go down. This sounds scary and hard but its really not, i have only had restriciton for 1 week and have picked up how to work with it so this does not happen. Its a learning curve. Hope this helps gx

freckles, i am finding that if i eat maybe one spoon to much and the gloop starts backing up then i might as well forget it, ie water food and everything as nowt goes down, i guess its as my osephegus has been swollen trying to push food throught and just needs a few hours to settle. Now that i have grasped this and the noises and feeling i am getting better. gx

well there are two ways if you wnt the simple way then buy any of the patak jars of curry paste they are fantastic, but black lentils or normal split yellow/red lentils and soak them, then boil them in salted water till cooked then drin.fry off a few onions in garlic add the paste and a tin of tomatoes then add fresh ginger and the lentils and simmer for 15-20 mins and watch out for it burning, then add frsh corriander nd some low fat(of course) creme fraiche. Voila I hasten to adD Madhur Jaffery am no.

a wee meal tip for my new found restriciton, i got a packet of quorn mince, a spoonfull of pataks curry paste and handfull of peas and a tin of tomatoes and made a lovely curry that slipped down just nicely allbeit it took me 50 min but dam tasy and i felt i had something. Quorn mince would not be my normal choice but in a curry its good and very low in fat and calories while adding good protien. a whole bad of 300g quron mince is only 270 cals, i reckon i managed half and with the sauce i would guess a calorie value of 320 cals plus rice 200 total 520, so i had 2 slimfast shakes 400 cals and half a count on us meal 200 so plus a few coffees i reckon i had 1400 cals, so i am happy at that as i am doing a good hour a day of cardio so need the fuel. but at last band doing its job gx

hi sammy, yeh its fine, if anything possible relxed slightly but not too much, either tht or maybe i am understanding how not to pb and thats why it feel relaxed. I am focusing on getting the water in heavily as i understand the improtance, i am also concious of eating enought protien as i am trining 6 days a week again and meat is quite difficult, i am going to try quorn chicken as the texture is softer however i have ordered a good protien shake to replce brekkie and for after training ensuring i get all the right things. I ate yesterday, 1 Slimfst for brekkie a few cappuccinos 1/2 M&S Fresh soup carton (could have ate all but had no time) 1 lasagne for tea so all in all i reckon about 1200 cals so thats a good reduction. nice one gillian we take for granted loosing a pound and not realising what it actully weighs, its would be a good idea for everyone to equate there weightloss to something that you can lift and i think people will get a surprise. gx

i would say its not like a choke however being honest the first time something sticks and you PB (productive burp) you could panic as its a strange and quite sore feeling but once you understand the signs you dont get it. gx

aw thats a wee shame about your hubby> I am getting the hang of my restriction now, i have sussed to really take time, i can only eat mushy food but thats cool, and at the first gurggle at back of throat to stop and wait then continue as i found out that carrying on after gurggle leads to a little pain and the forming of that lovely gloop and if it does not shift at that then the little bit of food in pouch comes up> i got that far a couple of times yesterday and after that i could get nothing down even water for a good few hours. Today i have got the hang and not Pb at all and managed to get decent ammount of fluid, porridge for brekkie, a small plate of lentil curry then a small ammount (tiny) of rice with sauce tonight. I think i am very tight as meat is a no no but i am happy to put up with it as my weight has moved quite a bit even since thurs. I am so motivated again and just glad that the band is finally doing what its ment. gx
