    My bandiversary!

Hi Jayme I also have 6.5 cc in my ABS band. I think it holds 10 cc. Not sure on that one. Right now I am ok. I seem to be able to eat at supper time pretty well. Some days it's just hard and it seems as though everything I try...comes back up or I am uncomfortable the whole time it is in the pouch until it finally makes it through. Last month I only lost 3 lbs. I've been loosing 1 lbs a week since i had the band. Slow but sure. Any ideas for breakfast & lunch? I have such a hard time with those. I have a hard time getting enough protein. Lori

Surgery on Monday Dec 15 9:15 am

Oh Honey, I understand. But, the pain isn't that bad. Your stomach muscles will be sore when you use them to sit up or move around for a while but basicly that is all. Stick to the liquids after and then creamed liquids and then soft foods and then go from there. You will not loose your identity. You will still be you. And you will be forced to stick with the new way of eating. So don't worry about failing. Really...I think it's pretty hard to fail. Just follow Dr's orders. Once you start loosing you will feel better. I had mine done Dec. 19th, 2007. Almost 1 year ago. I'm down 75 lbs and still loosing. That's the best thing. It is slower but I feel as though it is much saver to loose that way. Slow but sure. And it's adjustable. If you are having a hard time at some point they can unfill it a bit. If you aren't loosing they can fill it a bit. So, very patient friendly. I hope this helps. I understand I cried the whole time to the hospital, the whole time before surgery but then after I was done. No more crying. I'll be thinking of you! Hang in there :rolleyes2:
  6. Your band is too tight. If you are having night coughs and you are throwing up after every meal you need to call your dr and have some fluid taken out of the band. The more you throw up the more your stomach will swell and you will then throw up more. I'm tight right now as well. Not that tight but still need to only eat soft foods. In the morning I know I can only drink breakfast. Lunch is iffy. Dinner sometimes I can eat more solid food. sometimes not!! I know it can be frustrating but in the end....it will be worth it. RIGHT???? I hope so!!!

    Be Honest, ARE YOU HAPPIER??

Happier? YES!!! I feel better! I do not have constant pain in my feet and back. I am not constantly sweating and out of breath. I am off my high blood pressure meds. I can buy normal clothes. Yes when I get filled I have to stick with liquids until it loosens up but so what!!! I was banded Dec. 19th 2008 and have lost about 70 lbs. I know other have lost more but I'm so happy. Slow but sure it is coming off. YES I am happier NOW!!! NO I do not like taking vitamins...never did even when I was fatter so that didn't change. NO I don't like not eating and eating and eating whatever whenever I want. But I think it's a good trade off. Hang in there!! You will be happier in the long run!
