when I was talking to the secertary I asked her if they have an age where they don't do the band and she told me they did one on a lady just over 70. Now i believe she ment the band because that is what I was asking about. what does WLS, RNY, and bim I think is the body fat you need to lose right?

Thanks Sherry, great advice I'll take it. I do have a file in Moncton already and have just called them mmmm about a week ago and they told me to just get the approval from MSI and they will sit another appointment with the Dr. I would love to sit with you and get the whole scoop on all you went through and how things are now and is it all worth it. I live in Lower Sackville. Where do you live? Thanks again.

hey sherrylynn and annie55, When I talked to Dr. Beausoleil two years ago he said it would be just under 5000 for everything. The divice I believe was 4500, so I thought 5000 would cover it. He would of done it in three monthes but I needed the 5000 and my sock was empty. So I am hoping I will have the money this year some time then I'll get my Dr. to send letter to MSI and hope they will accept me then off to Moncton I will go.:w00t::ohmy:

Yesterday I called MSI and you have to ask them to transfer you to assessment there the person will tell you that they will pay basically for everything BUT the band itself, which you would still have to pay. However, you still have be referred by your Dr. and meet the criteria. This information is for nova scotia residents only. They will not pay for the band and they do not know when it will change.

Thank you Inuit, I am a diabetic have ostreo arthritis and have some joint problems, so my next step will be to get my Dr. to write M.S.I. Now my knees will be sore cause I'll be on them praying for it to go through. How was the day info seeion? When I saw Dr.B he said I could do it then or wait till I got the money to do the surgery. It's a shame that you have to have a heart attack for them to pay to get this done. I wish you all the very best. Thanks again.
  8. Hi everyone, I have been looking into getting something done for almost 10 years. At first I was going to get staples, but husband didn't want me to go through it. I was then refered to Dr. Beausoleil in 2005 and he told me he could do the surery in three monthes but it would cost me five thousand dollars. Needless to saw I am still waiting and saving. It looks like the sun is shinning bright for this year to have the money. I'm scared but very excited. I'm a diabetic (type2) and that is one of my main reasons I'm doing this. Sorry if I went on abit but so need people who really know what I'm going through. Thanks:smile:

Hi Inuit, My name is Pearl and am so excited to talk with you. Am new on here as of today, I saw Dr. B in 2005 and at that time cost was just under 5000. It wasn't covered then. Is it Dr. B's referral or my family Dr's referral that is needed by M.S.I. Looking forward to hearing from you.
