How low can you go in 09 weightloss challenge#1
ninner replied to china's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was cleared by my doc to start weightlifting last week and I've been hitting them pretty hard, as a result the scale hasn’t moved this week, my arms are up 1.5" and belly is down 3" though so I guess I can live with it. Tomorrow I will finish week 4 of couch to 5k, if your knees are up to it I highly recommend it. I actually look forward to running for the first time in my life, weird:blush:? -
My goal is excercise addiction, followed closely by Sex addiction. I'll leave the drugs and alochol alone for now. One step at a time.

Went to the Doc this afternoon and after seeing my weight loss thus far, he recomended no fill, which is fine with me. He said why mess with a good thing and I couldent agree more. He did say to monitor my weight closely and if I started to gain any come see him otherwise I'll go back in a month.

Fat loss vs weight loss

Unless your calculating body fat using the water displacement method you probably don't have a very accurate number to go by. -
How long after surgery did you wait to return to work/school?
ninner replied to NCsQueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took 1.5 weeks to return to work, light duty until tomorrow. I'm not going back to school never ever again, unless I can get a raise out of it. -
I don't know about you people up north but down here pigs can be used for almost anything. If you grease them up then try to catch em thats one of the best cardio exercises there is. sorry I got to go, wife just called, the pigs is eatin the chickens. Here we go again.

At this point I can eat anything but the burger, I'm ok if I take the top bun off but I cant eat a whole burger. If forced to eat FF I'll get to wendys and get a jr burger and a chili, not a bad meal for $2 plus tax. the other option is sonic for a HB kids meal w/ fruit and I get a toy!!!

Today B 4:30am Slimfast low carb drink 1/2 Before run 1/2 after S 8:30 4 baked chicken wings, 1/2 C 2% Mac n cheese L 3oz roast beef, 1/2 C mashed potatoes, 1/2 C steamed veggies, twix mini bar:cursing: D Small plate of various chinese buffet food plus 1 egg roll. "1/4 of what I would have ate preband" I found a CDC spreadsheet to calculate how many calories to eat for desired weight loss in obese people. I calculated out that I would loose 1.5 lbs per week at 3600 calories a day.

This program is great I'm only in week 3 but it's loads of fun so far. I'll admit the 3 min run had me a little concerned but I slowed down and stayed in good form, it was a breeze. During the 90 sec runs my pulse was up to 155 but on the 3 min run my pulse never got over 144, i think it's because I was running faster on the 90 sec run. I can't believe the effect weight loss and running has had on my resting heart rate. It used to run 80 to 85 and now it's down to 60 which the doc likes alot.

Can I smoke after surgery / Why YES I CAN!!

I heard:wink2: that if you cook it in butter the THC will bond with the fats and it can then can be used for cooking without the harmfull side effects of the smoke. Of course since I've worked in a drug free workforce for 15 years my data may be out dated. -
B 1 C leftover super low fat venison chili /w 5 crackers L 1 C leftover super low fat venison chili /w 5 crackers D 2 naked strips, 3 tater tots, 3/4C green Beans I estimate the chili w/ crackers at 280 calories and it keeps me full and satasfied for a loooong time.

I know everyone says Lap-Band is not the easy way out. My opinion may change seeing that I'm only a month out but right now, this is easy. I work out a lot like I did before the band "a little harder since I see results". The main reason I say it's easy, I eat until I'm full and then I stop, that simple. I don't remember ever being full before the band, I'd eat so much I wanted to hurl but I did not feel full like I do now. Heck it may all be in my head but if it is I'll take it. Hopefully I won’t look back at this post in a month and wonder what the he!! was I thinking. Ninner,
