I told my mom, once I got the surgery date. She was not supportive at first, but I was telling her about how much I was loosing on the liquid diet. I've also explained to her that I understand that she doesn't agree with my decision, however, I'm an adult and I feel this is the best choice for me. It took her a little bit to get used to the idea but came to visit me while I was in the hospital. -

I was banded on the 10th. Things are going good I guess. I've got some decent gas pains in my chest and my stomach is really sore and tender. Other than that, I'm good. I love going to sleep, that's when I'm most comfortable. -

Today is day 2 for me and I've been feeling a tad better every time I wake up from a nap. The gas pains are horrible, I feel like I need to burp, but can't. My stomach feels not se good either. -

I was banded on the 10th. everything went good i guess. Apparently I had a hard tome with nausea when I woke up, but don't remember any recovery room stuff. I barely passed the swallow test, I got the stuff down just fine but it took forever to have it go down, I had to be in X-ray for two hours. I'm finally home, and I'm pretty uncomfortable, but I'm hoping that it will subside with in the next few days. -

I'm 6 days out with the per-op diet. It's harder than I thought it was going to be. Feb. 10th can not come soon enough!! -

The way I get my shakes down is to just suck it up and gulp it down. They taste horrible, but I've got to do this for 2 weeks and I'm on day 2. -

Hi everyone. I just found this thread. I'm glad I found it. I'm being banded on Feb. 10th. I'm super duper nervous, My husband was banded yesterday and I'm seeing what he is going through. I'm so scared. I start my liquid diet on Monday. -
I just had pre-op testing today. The Dr. told me to go off of insulin when I started the liquid diet and to only take it if I need to. I'm soooo excited!! Could this be the beginning of something great???

I've got a quick odd question. As your belly grows with your baby does anyone have pain at the port site? -
I'm having mixed emotions, I'm excited to change my life, but at the same time terrified because I've never had surgery and I'm a baby with pain.

How was that being banded on the same day as your husband?? My husband and I wanted to, but the Dr. thought it would be better if we had them at different days, so we are going to be 3 weeks apart. -

I'm sooo glad I found this thread! I thought I was the only 28 year old with little to no sex drive! I hope to God my sex drive returns. When I was dating my husband we would have sex a least 5x a week multiple times a day, and now we're lucky to get it in once every few weeks! I hate it, hopefully it will all change after we are both banded.

My surgery date is February 9th I'm excited. I'm doing the lap-band because I didn't feel comfortable re-arranging my organs. Let me know what you choose.

I'm also a 2009 Bandster, February 9th. DH is being banded on Jan. 19th. Looking forward to the new year!! The only thing I have to before surgery is the pre-op testing and to start my liquid diet. Here's hoping I pass the pre-op testing. :biggrin:
