  1. I drink my required 60+ ounces of water a day but I always feel thirsty. I mean REALLY thirsty. What gives? Does anyine else have this problem?
  2. I walk about a mile and a half to two miles a day or I am in the gym weight training. Could this be part of the reason? I have recently had my blood work done and I do not have diabetes. I will call my doctor anyway and ask the question.
  3. I have not weighed myself on a daily basis because I think that I would be too frustrated if I gain so I have waited for my doctor's visits in order to be weighed. Well, I went to my first appointment yesterdsay and I have lost 30 pounds since I was banded on Dec. 1. i am thrilled. however, I know this is not going to keep going at 15 pounds a week (would be nice) but it is very encouraging. I have been given the green light to start the pureed diet and to start weight training (light weight). i am on cloud nine. i have also dropped at least a pant size and I feel amazing! 30 down 170 to go.
  4. I was banded on 12-1-08 and My gas problems lasted only a couple days (lucky I guess) my problem is not feeling hungry but thinking hungry. Mental hunger is a problem for me. Physically i feel full after having a Protein shake which for me is very comforting. I'm thinking that its just withdrawals from a lifetime of bad habits. My attitude has been to just stay positive and wait it out until my brain realizes that this is just how it is now. Anybody else get the mental hunger? If so how do you deal with it.
  5. Thanks for the well wishes Smoochy. I felt embarresed to about admiting that I was addicted to eating. The way our culture looks at food is very strange. But I noticed that once I was honest to myself and admitted that I was addicted to food and eating I now had something I could work with. I have noticed over the past couple days my brain is starting to realize that this is how it is now. No more big meals or meals at 1 am because there is nothing to do , or because I just want it. The liquid diet part for me is going much smoother. Yesterday I put on a pair of pants and they were actaly loose! I now see that what I'm doing is a positive thing and It makes the sacrifice worth while. God Bless, Logan
  6. I hear you. I went to the mall with my kids to do my walking for the day. At the end of it they wanted dinner so I bought them Chick Fil A. I wasn't hungry but OH MY GOD did I want waffle fries and a chicken sandwich. Now I know how I got so big. I'm like a drunk but with food!
  7. I agree with food being extremely emphasized in society. It is a huge contradiction within our cuklture. Hurry up and go get the lates burger from BK because it's good and satisfying and you just gotta have it. But...you're a pig and a horrible person if you do. Oh Well.

    Surgery canceled

Look at the bright side YOU WILL GET IT. Don't give up this is important to you. I'll be pullin for ya.
  9. Tomato Soup! You are lucky. I was banded on 12/1/08 and Like trayrenee I was told the only things I can have are clear liquids and Jello. I would kill right now for some tomato soup. LOL. I think you'll be alright if you just make sure it's slowly taken in. I drank some diet Tang this morning to fast and it felt like some clubbed me in the stomach for about 30 seconds. Best of luck to you.

    Surgey Tomorrow!

Hello everyone and thank you for the well wishes. I just got back home and I feel pretty good. No pain, just bad gas cramps. The surgery went well. The hardest part I think was not having anything to drink at all on monday. My mouth was so dry it was driving me insane!:cursing: This morning I went to radiology and did the dye test and they said everything looked good so I was able to drink 1 oz. of Water every 15 minutes for three hours. They discharged me at 3:30 and now I'm lying down eating Jello. Good luck to you Mr. Mike on your banding tomorrow. Good luck to you too christykennison. The operation is a breeze you'll do fine:smile2:
