  1. Happy 45th Birthday LB323!

    me and my noises

I was just banded on Tueday and have all kinds of noises, is this normal? we've been kinda laughing about it..it can get really loud!
  3. I was banded on 12/2 and have been battleling the hiccups? anyone else have this problem? I'm on full liquids but don't really have a desire for soup yet. I'm a little nervous to eat lol or rather drink anything thick. I had a protien shake today and I felt a little sick after
  4. I was banded yesterday and would agree to drink as much water as possible the night before, it also helps with the IV to not be too dehydrated. I took some lip balm with me to the hospital that helped me keep my lips moist. I can't think of anything else I did above what my Dr told me. I did follow my pre-op diet and am told that's why I'm doing so well post-op.
  5. Hi, I am so happy to have found this thread! I just found this mesage board on Suday and had my banding surgery yesterday. I am amazed at how well I'm doing and how little pain I have. Dr. R did my surgery at Carle, he's also done surgery for a couple friends. He and his staff at IBC seem very nice and friendly. I started reading the thread from the beginning but didn't realize how long ago it started so I decided to skip to the end and introduce myself. I hope to go back and catch up. Does anyone still get together regularly? I think the first Monday of each month was mentinoed. I'd love to meet up with others. It's so helpful to get first hand information. Anyway I'm looking forward to catching up with this group.
  6. I'm so glad you asked that! I just had my band surgery yesterday and haven't heard that term before. sounds like something I want to avoid!
  7. Thank you! I have an HMO so my out of pocket expense is only $150. Call and find out if Medicare cover it you might be suprised. My surgery went very well, I feel great!
  8. I hung up notes all around my house NOTHING tastes as good as SKINNY feels This worked for me, every time I went into the kitchen I saw the note, took a deep breath and walked back out. You can do this!
  9. SuzeQ, how are you feeling? I also had my surgery yesterday and am amazed at how good I feel!! My surgery was at 8am and I was home around 11:30. I'm still a little sore but otherwise feel great! I hope you're doing great too!
  10. Hello, I'm not sure why I didn't think to seek out the message board months ago. But I'm here now :cursing: I'm having my lap band surgery on Tuesday. Any last minute advice is always welcome!
  11. HI, this is my first post here. I've been on the home site a lot but never thought to seek out a message board. My surgery is Tuesday and I'm anxious! It's been a long road getting here. My insurance required a 6 month pre-surgery program. It sure seems there are varied pre-op diets (that's what made me look for a message board) I've been on a 2 week pre-op diet and slipped up a bit yesterday and was looking for some info on what if anything that would do. Anyway this seems like a great message board.
