  1. Dr. St. Laurent performed my Lapband surgery in January 2009. I have lost 30 lbs and am losing a consistent 2-3 pounds a week. I have had zero issues, both recovering from the actual surgery and then learning how to make the band work for me. Dr. St. Laurent is such an expert on the surgery, what to expect, how to give you fills and educating you through the whole process. Dr. St. Laurent also utilizes Nutrilife Wellness dietitians, that specialize in bariatric patients. They have also been such a great asset in preparing and educating me through the process. I couldn't be more satisfied with my surgeon, office staff and dietitians. As well, as my decision to move forward with getting this surgery. His practice earns 5 stars.
  2. Yes, my Dr. said I could use ibuprofen after surgery. I use 500mg of childrens liquid ibuprofen. I also did a Google search and a lot of lapband surgeons put it on their post-op instructions. i have felt great while using it.
  3. Sorry your feeling so much pain Angel. I also had my surgery on the 6th. Today is the best day I have had. I started taking children s liquid ibuprofen this morning and it's working great. I didn't like the way I feel with the Hydrocodin. I am also using the GasX strips that melt in your mouth, that has kept the gas barable. Will be feeling better soon and skinnier!!!

    Insurance

Yes, I have United Healthcare PPO. I had my first Lapband seminar at the end of August 2008. My surgeon said he wanted everything done first, before he would even submit it to UHC. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a bmi of 41. I went through 5 months of nutritional counseling with Diabetes of America and submitted 5 yrs of medical records showing being overweight. My surgeons office accidentally sent it in to UHC on Dec. 8th, 2008 without finishing my 6 month diet education or my psyc exam. They approved it, within a couple of days even with out those!! I just had my surgery yesterday morning. The insurance process was super smooth for me.

    I am this shallow?

Don't worry. I'm sure you look great and do look different. Sadlly our family can be the most judgmental and envious.
  6. That was so unprofessional the way he/they handled it. Find another fill Dr. and let them know why you won't be coming back.
