What rule(s) do you let yourself break?
Displaced Va Girl replied to LeeBee17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well, to be honest, there isn't a rule I haven't broken bc the surgery was done on my stomach not my brain. That being said, I'm REALLY trying to control my mistakes. I'm not perfect and I don't beat myself up anymore. I just improve my habits daily. Yesterday I ate Weight watchers Protein chicken Pasta for Breakfast an Asian salad w/chicken for lunch Fig newton and a Krispy Kreme donut for snack (please don't judge me. I had a weak moment and I know it). Piece of pita bread with caramelized onions for dinner I don't drink enough Water (I'm working on that) but I drink 2 cups of coffee a day. -
Sleeve Stretched?
Displaced Va Girl replied to Susan Quincy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel I like a failure bc I'm back to eating my carbs and sugars. I don't know how to stop but today is a new day and I'll do my best. I need advice. How does one go back to the good ol'days? -
Does anyone have bcbsnc? I feel like this is the hardest insurance to have bc the 6 month wait is hard and I've done nothing but gain weight. My bmi is borderline and I'm nervous. Any advice would be helpful.

For those that have had the revision surgery.....
Displaced Va Girl replied to LSF's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I was in the hospital for 2 days. I don't take pain well therefore it hurt for about 2 weeks. Physical and emotional pain bc I began to get scared I was going to fail again. It wasn't easy for me but it seems I'm the exception. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. -
Off track. Recommend cookbooks?
Displaced Va Girl posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 4 months out and I get hungry, make bad decisions, and need to get myself back on track. I'm human so I'm not going to punish myself so please no judgement or criticism. I just need to get a good cookbook or good recipe ideas. Can you help? -

New here , 10 weeks post op sleever, I would like to know how others are doing.
Displaced Va Girl replied to Eeb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 14 weeks out and have lost 37lbs. Premier Protien shakes from Sams Club have been a blessing !!! I am having a hard time keeping a good diet bc I get hungry and don't have time to eat 5 times a day. I only lose weight if I walk and I rarely find the time. I won't give up! Good luck!!! -
Caffeine
Displaced Va Girl replied to MamaTo3inNH's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Lactaid fat free milk with 1tsp instant coffee is my lifesaver! My dietian said it won't kill me if I had one a day but not tell the surgeon. -
Sleeved and not felt "full"
Displaced Va Girl replied to moesick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are not alone! I'm 10 days out and can eat not just a burger but the cow if they let me. I am sick of drinking protein shakes and I'm not sure how I'm going to survive the next week. IM HUNGRY! -
feeling like such a failure. I cheated at only 2 weeks post op
Displaced Va Girl replied to Loristi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Please forgive yourself for being human. I'm only 10 days out and had a really hard day yesterday. I cheated and ate a lot: half banana, avacado with lime, puréed chicken enchilada Soup (no purées yet) , inside of a date and 3 small bites of pizza. I can't blame myself, I was hungry but today I'm back on track. Life happens and we are normal. Just remember to get back up. Good luck -

Post Op Blues?
Displaced Va Girl replied to mellytoon0908's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved Aug. 28, 2014 and I am sick of shakes, broths, Water, and pain. I'm hungry and want some real food. I know it's only been 10 days but I have licked on a spoon of Greek yogurt and I sneaked an elbow macaroni, chewed it very well and swallowed. Damn it felt good. I won't do it again bc I've come to far to screw up now but I needed to have my moment. Hang in there, you are not alone. -
August 28, 2014 sleeve is done.
Displaced Va Girl replied to Jammil0411's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I got my revision band to sleeve on Aug. 28,2014 and I've experienced so much pain. I was able to pass gas without any problems and drink water smoothly but my head is throbbing (lack of coffee) . Do you know if we can drink coffee? -
Tomorrow is my day
Displaced Va Girl replied to alyce's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck to everyone!!! I'm so proud to be a part of a brave group of people. My surgery is August 28 and I'm nervous too but my friend looked at me and said "don't be scared, you are doing the surgery that we all want. You're the lucky one". Best of health to you all -
Sleeve Staples
Displaced Va Girl replied to jessebdiaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not a pro but isn't that the natural healing of your body? Have you ever felt a paper cut and it starts to feel cold during the heLing process? Ask a doctor bc I'm just guessing...lol -

Sleeve Staples
Displaced Va Girl replied to jessebdiaz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think it's that simple or at least that's what my doctor told me. Are you feeling unusual pain? Give us more of a reason why you are inquiring. Did you eat something you weren't supposed to? Keep us updated. -
I have a lap band that has not worked and now my insurance co denied my request for converting to sleeve. I'll keep you posted.

Anyone been denied, appealed, and approved? I need hope!
Displaced Va Girl posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
I've been denied by BCBS of NC and I sent an appeal letter on the 23rd of June. Not sure if I should get my hopes up or is it over for me? -
Possibilty 2months away
Displaced Va Girl replied to gumdrop8268's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In excited for you! Yay! Good luck and don't worry, you will do fabulously! -
Omg I'm in the same boat! How did this happen to me? I'm mad at myself but at the same time I don't know how I could of stopped it. I'm so uncomfortable in ANYTHING I wear, my size 18 is getting to tight and I feel so alone and humiliated. My husband is gorgeous and I know people are wondering why he hasn't left. All my friends are tiny and I hate taking photos. I'm lucky bc I've always loved myself and I'm a bit selfish. If I could only get through jumping hoops for my insurance co. and get the sleeve so I can take care of myself the way I should have. I deserve. Second chance and so do you. We WILL get through this, I promise!

Sorry, I meant 23rd of July not June. -
Has anyone starting doing Pilates or yoga after surgery and if so, how is your weight loss journey? I want details...lol
