how is everyone? saw you are tight, slim. is everything ok? i have my "second" fill in about a week. hoping to feel some restriction with this fill.
-
i have found myself eating more vegetarian meats like the sausage patties and chicken nuggets because i heard they are easier going down. does anyone use these products and do you find them easy to go down or do you have a problem with them. thanks for the feedback.
-
i wasnt complaining.
-
i think i am apprehensive now that i have had a slip. i think if i start having problems i will be calling the office faster than i would have before. oh well.
-
wow. that was long. do you have a 4ml band now? mine is 10 ml. pioneer - i would call the office. they suggest mucinex for mucous problems.
-
im with you slim. the permanency and Vitamin deficiency are reasons why i didnt have bypass although after this slip i am reconsidering that decision... [corliss]. it is supposed to be better than bypass because things dont get stuck and you dont have dumping supposedly. i dont know anyone who has had any type of weight loss surgery other than the band and they have had their surgery since i have had mine.... :blushing: i must be a pioneer.

Sleeve gastrectomy is a surgical weight-loss procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 15% of its original size, by surgical removal of a large portion of the stomach, following the major curve. The open edges are then attached together (often with surgical staples) to form a sleeve or tube with a banana shape. The procedure permanently reduces the size of the stomach. The procedure is performed laparoscopically and is not reversible. Sleeve gastrectomy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gastric Band Institute that I go to is in Chattanooga and on Gunbarrel Rd in the Memorial Atrium. I see Ponce and they have flouro in their office. I think most people in this thread go to the Chattanooga office but I am not sure of that. His office is affliated with Memorial but not at the main hospital.

the commercial is several people talking about how much weight they have lost and that they are now offering sleeve gastrectomy. i have met one of the people. i was surprised that they were offering the sleeve. it didnt say banded sleeve. interesting. i have only seen it once.
-
i am billed the same whether they use flouro or not also. anyone see the new gbi commercial?
-
i am not sure how much they bill your insurance but i have paid as much as $400 for a fill when they were billing my insurance which sucked. they can switch you to cash pay where they dont bill your insurance and it is $125. it just depends on your insurance. this is for the flouro in the gbi's office. i have never been to an endoscopy center.

i know. i am just frustrated. i have been going up and down with the same 5-10 pounds since the beginning of june. waiting has to do with letting the band properly encapsulate or something. bleh. i am ready to start losing again. i know i will with my 2nd or 3rd fill.
-
congrats carrie. slim - i do have to wait.

i have been using an app on my ipod sometimes to calculate my calorie intake. thought i would share. it is called lose it. i think it is still free. it helps sometimes to track stuff.
-
i eat these too but it was nice to have a professional say this is what you should be eating because sometimes you're just not sure. hoping you feel better. "sounds" that way. i am super hungry all the time right now but i have only had 1 fill and expected this.

frozen salmon, tilapia, shrimp, and imitation crab meat frozen veg meat (chicken nuggets were suggested), frozen veg, frozen fruit with cool whip, applesauce, fudgesicles, individual fruits in juice, sf pudding yogurt, cottage cheese, carnation instant Breakfast, canadian bacon, real bacon, lunch meat, canned chicken &tuna was nice to go to a real store and have someone say this is a good idea for you... maybe not that. it made me feel like there was something i can eat.

The support group a few days ago was the most helpful one yet. the topic was building a better bariatric kitchen. we went to walmart and looked at different food choices. it helped me not feel SO confused about eating. i am not really feeling any restriction yet but am back down to my lowest weight so that is good. btw, gbi has a facebook page as does realize band... which made me giggle.

corliss - can you remind me why you needed a new band? i have been feeling mad and bitter today about my whole slipping situation. no need to spew my negative feelings all over this forum but i am still dealing with this. thought i would briefly share.
-

I havent seen Fage at Sams but if I do I'll let you know. I have only had the flavored kind (strawberry so far). not a big fan of plain yogurt in general though.
