  1. I was banded on 11/24. The liquid diet wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be at first and the weight was FALLING OFF. By 12/2, I was down 16 pounds and was feeling wonderful. Well, now it's 12/6 and I haven't lost anything in 4 days. I know that I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but I find that it's that much harder not to knowing that I stopped losing. I do have to admit that I've become fairly lax on the liquid diet. I mean, when I first came home from the hospital, I was drinking 2 protien shakes a day and filling the remaining need of protien by drinking protien Water, but I started having issues with the shakes around the 6th day and cut back to 1 a day and filled the rest with protien water. I am sure that I'm not drinking as much fluids as I should during the day and I've had a little soud during the day since it's been so cold here. Is my weight-loss stall because I'm not as gung-ho as I was in the beginning? I'm looking forward to my 3 week apointment so that I can be released to exercise. I've never wanted to work out so much in my life. Anyways, I just realized how long this is. Is there someone out there that has losdt weight initially and then it stalled after the first week and a half? Thanks, Shanna
  2. I was banded on Monday 11/24/08, so today is my 6th day banded. I'm doing very well, so far... I have hardly no pain, I'm not really hungry (although I am VERY tired of shakes and water), and I'm already down 12.5 pounds. The biggest issue that I am having is that my stomach is ALWAYS growling. It's not in pain... it's not making me hungry per say... but it's a CONSTANT reminder that I have nothing really in there. Is this normal? Is this a temporary thing that will subside after my body gets used to having nothing substantial in my stomach? Thanks everyone... Shanna
  3. Yay... we have the same bandday... sounds funny but it's cool at the same time. I'm actually looking at it as my second birthday because this is DEFINITELY a life changer.

I'm over the gas... honestly, I never really had any MAJOR pain (a little in my left shoulder, but that's about it). I am on all liquids, but I'm thinking about treating myself to a yogurt tomorrow (YAY!). I can't wait to chew again... I don't car if it's celery or carrots... I just want to eat something.

Do you find that your stomach is ALWAYS rumbling? I mean, I'm not "hungry" but I always know that my tummy is empty. It doesn't make me want to eat so much as I just want it to stop.

Well, best of luck to you. As of this morning, I'm down just over 12 pounds... in 6 days... un-freaking-believable! For the first time in a LONG time, I don't hate the scale!

I hope to get to be friends with many of you all here... this is a great journey and I'm glad to have good people to travel with!

  4. Hey, My name is Shanna. I'm a 32 year old wife and mom... and I got banded on Monday November 24th, 2008 by Dr. Daniel Jones at the Beth Israel Deconness Hospital in Boston, MA. I'm doing pretty well, but there are times when I get extremely uncomfortable and I feel like I can actually FEEL the band inside and it's not right... but then again, I don't know how it's supposed to feel since this is all new to me. It might be the gas... it might just be me being nervous. BUT, I'm doing better than what I though I was going to be... and I've finally got it done! I'm down just about 12 pounds already and I can say for once that I don't hate the scale. Well, I hope to get to know many of you and walk along side you as we all become healthier and look towards the future. Please introduce yourselves... I can't wait to talk to others who are right here with me! Thanks, Shanna
