antivicky started following JulieNYC's medial thigh lift, breast augmentation and mons lift, Completely Unfilled & Still Restricted, No More Chicken for Me! and and 7 others
-
What part of Mississippi are you from? I see Dr. David Carroll in Jackson, MS.
-
I cannot eat breast meat at all... but dark meat goes down much easier. I use boneless thigh meat in my dishes and you would be amazed how much easier it goes down.

I say go to the Chinese place and get some soup.... you will soon be able to eat hang on!

Completely Unfilled & Still Restricted
antivicky replied to stella's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am almost the same way. I have had an unfill and I am still very tight. I am curious to see what the Doctors tell you. I also had my band in Mexico. I completely dehydrated a few weeks ago and had to go to the emergency room for fluids. However they could not unfill and no Doctors on call could. They will not touch you unless they carry bariatric insurance and nobody on call did. So I suffered until I could get to my fill doc to get an unfill. I could not even swallow my saliva... thought I was going to die!!!!!!!!! -
I am in Mobile... do you live in Mobile? I wish you well. I absolutely love my band. It was slow go in the beginning but I am in a good spot now. Good Luck!

YES........ IT IS GREAT WHEN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT RESTRICTION. I FIND MYSELF HAVING TO MAKE MYSELF EAT! If you have the right restriction you cannot over eat even if you try! Sure you can take in too many calories with milkshakes and such... but even with a milkshake a few sips and I am way too full!

considering Monterey Mx.+Dr Rodriguez
antivicky replied to kathy05's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded by Arturo Rodriguez... feel free to email me and we can talk. My ticker is wrong (have lost 80lbs) forgot how to change it. -
For those of you that have had gallbladder surgery post-band... did your Dr. remove your fill for the surgery? I need surgery but do not want to start over with my fills I am so close to my goal weight. I have an appt. on the 14th with my band Dr. and will find out what he says. :help: By the way I forgot how to change my ticker... I have lost 60lbs.

I would love to go! Please keep us updated. I never knew about the January trip or I would have planned on that one. I think if you continue to post and more people see it your response would be greater. Thanks

Do We have to Live with Acid Reflux?
antivicky replied to Flashover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is not a solution but it does help me and allow me to sleep. When I wake up with reflux I have a cough drop on my night stand handy and put it in my mouth. It is the only thing that kills the acid taste and keeps me from choking. I am then able to fall back to sleep and normally do not wake up again. I keep the cough drop in my mouth while sleeping (I am sure this is not great for your teeth but it sure beats not sleeping). Sometimes if I feel I ate something too late I put one in my mouth when going to bed. GOOD LUCK! -
I Know Someone Who Had Their Surgery The Day Before Me And She Had A Severe Cough The Week After Surgery And Had To Have Band Removed! Be Careful

To funny AngelaT I had the same problem with Cathy that you did. She was so rude and unprofessional that is why I decided not to go with Dr. Rumbaut. I had read wonderful things about him so that is why I inquired... I think he would do much better if he cut ties with her. I spoke with her several times and one time she was so short with me and ugly that she even thought twice about and called me back and gave a very un-sincere apology. I thought if this is going to be main contact and if I have any problems then I am in huge trouble so she was a VERY big red flag and I decided to go elsewhere. Good Luck to everyone!:nervous

Obesity as a Pre Existing Condition? WLS for Dummies
antivicky replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for your reply. I am may not have been clear... BCBS would not cover and that is why I was self pay... Definity Health is the plan that I can go for during open enrollment and they do cover the procedure (little late for me now)... I was just wondering as an example if I had to have a port replaced (not an emergency) do you think they would cover that? I hate to pick up Definity if they would not cover any of the procedures... because I would still have BCBS with my Husband. It would be an additional $80 a month but it would be worth it if they would pay in the vent I had a problem. Thanks again for your reply! Any info would be appreciated. -
Obesity as a Pre Existing Condition? WLS for Dummies
antivicky replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am in my open enrollment period also. I had BCBS with my DH and it did not cover surgery... I was self pay and had the surgery in May. I am considering signing up with my Company (Definity Health) because I have heard they cover most things with the band... but is that after the fact also???? If I have a complication will they consider it pre-existing and not cover???
