What band? ?? I am so freaked after reading this link. I have an Inamed that is 10 cm and 4.0 ccs. My first fill was 2.0 and 5 days later I went to Pac Surgical for a 2nd fill and only 1.6cc was left. She then put me to 2.6 - no restriction on fluoro and then shot me up to 3.6 cc - which apparently is unheard of. I had great restriction for two weeks and now it has been tapering off again. I have thought about heading back in there to check it out again. Please tell me what brand of Band are you referring to?

HI, I was actually banded in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz (love him), Pacific Surgical told me I was not "fat' enough, although I was nearly 220 lbs. So I paid the 8k and had it done myself! I love Pac Surgical, do not get me wrong, they were only following FDA regulations. They have done both of my first two fills and Erin their fill nurse is phenomenal! She was obese herself (lost over 100lbs) and now takes care of us. The cost is reasonable and I love having my fills done under fluoro, so I can see the restriction happening. Good luck!

I am 39 and told to gain more weight. That is when I went to the obesitycontrolcenter.com and found Dr. Ortiz (yes, Mexico). He has performed nearly 7000 surgeries. If your friend can suck it up and not do the insurance game, pay the 8k like many do and go over the border. The doctors and big pharma make it WAY too difficult for people in the US to have WLS here. good luck
